I really enjoyed this book. Jess has arrived in Paris to stay with her half brother Ben. However, when she arrives at the elegant appartment block where Ben is staying he is nowhere to be seen. Jess quickly becomes convinced that something bad has happened to him. The other inhabitants of the house all seem to be keeping secrets and nothing is what it seems. This is a fast paced story that will keep you guessing to the end. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

I absolutely loved this book and was thoroughly captivated by the story. A really strange apartment building with some rather strange tenants. It was cleverly written and I loved how the story unfolded. The dark side of Paris with the seedy club was a really eye opening twist to the story. A bit Agatha Christie-esque (I love Agatha Christue stories). I loved all the twists and turns and it certainly was a real page turner. A real twist at the end that I never saw coming. Brilliant.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read an advanced copy of this book.

Jess needs a fresh start. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up… he’s not there. The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has.

I really liked the Paris setting, it added a brilliant type of atmosphere to the book. It’s a slow burn, mystery thriller so if your a fan of those you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

As Jess was trying to navigate a new country with nobody to help her, I really felt for her. Jess is flawed and she wasn’t the easiest character to get invested in straight away but she was a lot better than the other ones who were way more unlikeable and she did eventually grow on me.

I really liked how it all came together at the end. It wasn’t a huge twist and I felt it was all resolved a bit too quickly but it was one that I didn’t see coming so I liked that I was kept guessing throughout!

I think my biggest issue with the book was the amount of characters and POVs it had. I do like multiple POVs but I initially found it all a bit confusing which left me feeling a little disconnected to the characters. I did eventually get more on track with the characters but it took me a while.

Gripping and thrilling with an intriguing mystery I simply couldn't put down! Lucy Foley does it again...

The Paris Apartment is a twisty thriller where Jess is trying to find her brother, who disappeared right as she showed up at his Paris Apartment. His neighbours all seem to have something to hide and there seems to be a connection between Ben and each one of the tenants in this building.

I enjoyed the multiple POV's, though I really didn't care to know which floor each character was staying on, for every single chapter.

I didn't really connect with any of the characters, but I did enjoy the story. The middle was a bit long winded, but there were some really good plot twists that made the read worth it.

What a great plot! I loved the departure from Lucy Foley's previous two novels as they felt too similar. The Paris Apartment felt fresh and intriguing from the start.

Following the wayward Jess, as she goes to visit her brother Ben in his Paris apartment was a great way to build the tension and mystery into the plot from the beginning. Why isn't Ben waiting for his sister as he said he would at his apartment? Is he just at the local Tabernac, or is he lying injured somewhere in a traffic accident? So many questions poured through my head in those initial pages and it only gets more mysterious from there!

Welcome to No.12 Rue des Amants. Jess may be in the heart of Paris but she is also at the mercy of its darkness. As Jess searches for Ben she meets more and more of the tenants where Ben was renting an apartment and each has a secret they don't want discovering...

A great, suspense driven novel with a lot of enjoyable intriguing characters at its heart. I particularly enjoyed the sub plot and how it wove into the main plot as a feature and the scenes in the club, I could easily see this novel being adapted for screen.

I'd previously read Lucy Foley's other thrillers, The Hunting Party and The Guest List, both easy reads and I was happy to pick this one up at a time I was on sick leave and didn't want to ready anything too taxing. The premise of the story is set in an upscale Paris apartment complex, where Jess leaves the UK to go and stay with her brother Ben. However, Ben is missing when she arrives and Jess sets off to find out where he is and what happened to him. An easy read with a good pace and enough characters to keep it interesting enough to keep turning the pages, although incredulous at times (some non-French characters passing off as French, some French characters passing as English). Like most books of this genre it won't particularly stay with me and no doubt I will forget the ending before the end of this month but nevertheless it was a good read, albeit somewhat predictable. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advance copy of this book.

Jess visits Paris expecting to meet her brother at his apartment - but he's not there. The beautiful apartment block he lives in shows some initial signs that something's not quite right. The more Jess asks questions, interacts with neighbours and follows the clues she gathers the more danger she is in. As characters tell their stories the more they weave together in a tale of intrigue and suspicion. Eminently readable

Ben is a journalist living in a beautiful old historical Paris Apartment well beyond his means if he had not met an old school friend Nick. His step sister Jess is about to descend on him without notice. You are drawn into this Apartment building along with Jess when she meets the other residents but where is Ben? A great mystery that has a great twist nothing is as it seems in this building. A very clever mystery that’s draws in all these characters who are so mysterious you don’t know who to trust. You really worry if Jess will survive her experience with this apartment she is drawn back to again and again. Well up to the standard set by Lucy Foley’s previous books.
I was given an arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The atmosphere of this alone sucked me in. The setting was everything. Lucy Foley has become an insta-buy author for me. Every book so far delivers.

There was never any fear that this book was going to be anything less than brilliant, and it certainly went way above my expectations. Another fantastic book by Lucy Foley, the story is written through the perspective of many different characters which keeps it very interesting and fast paced. A thrilling whodunnit which kept me guessing until the last page. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley for my eARC of this book.

As a native parisian now living in the UK, i was back home during the late hours i spent reading this book. I should add i read it in one sitting as i was so engrossed by the story i could not close it and finished it at 7am... . The story is genuinely clever, original and unusual . The setting is kind of claustrophobic as it mainly revolves around a very exclusive apartment complex and its inhabitants. A brit sister who is a bit of a screw up shows up at her brother's flat but her brother is nowhere to be found. An intricate web of fear, lies and deception start restricting her every move and the urgency of finding her brother intensifies. As intense as the woman in the window or a good hitchcock movie, i can highly recommend this book and have no doubt it will make some noise and end up being snatched by Hollywood.

I'm a fan of Lucy Foley's books and this one lived up to my expectations of an excellent read. Based in a luxury block of apartments in Paris the story provided lots of twists very similar to an Agatha Christie mystery. Definitely a book I would recommend.

Lucy Foley is fast becoming a locked room mystery queen and The Paris Apartment gives a slightly different twist in that it's based in a luxury apartment block during the 2019 Paris riots.

Jess, heads to Paris to stay with her brother Ben, after quiting her dead-end job in England. She arrives to his luxurious apartment block but there's no sign of him anywhere despite him saying he will be there to let her in. She immediately becomes anxious about his whereabouts but none of his neighbours seem to be willling or able to help.

As Jess starts to explore what happened her brother, she quickly discovers all isn't as it seems in 12 Rue des Amants. The book is told from multiple points of view including a glamorous Parisien lady about town, a mentally unstable young woman, a friend of Ben's from college. Who are all these people and what connection do they have to Ben?

The reader is brought along the journey as Jess investigates, uncovering simmering tensions and unravelling clues she is given along with a few red herrings thrown in for good measure.

The start is a little bit of a slower burn than her other novels but you quickly get drawn in and it's a good read for anyone who enjoys this genre and I expect will be everywhere when published on March 3rd.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the ARC of The Paris Apartment. Also, look at this being my first review for the new year!

The Paris Apartment was a good thriller with clues throughout the story that will either make you mad you missed them or glad you caught on early. The mystery in this book unravelled expertly; it will keep you up at night reading chapter after chapter. The setting was beautifully written(granted I’ve never been to Paris, I felt connected to it with the descriptions).

What I didn’t like was how some really basic things were ignored for the sake of the plot carrying out the way it did. Where was Ben’s super posh adopted family during all of this? The epilogue felt like it was missing something. After all that how have some relationships not changed? The sex scene was odd. I was going to write a few others but I do want this to be a spoiler-free review.

Jess has been dropped into a glamorous, dangerous world in Paris, searching for her brother.
I found the many characters confusing at times, not sure who was important and wasn’t.
It was a bit slow at first, but unputdownable towards the end!
A modern feeling book, with women at its centre, sometimes looking out for each other, at others definitely not!

A different vibe than the hunting party which I loved and a little harder to read. Very stereotypical parisien neighbourhood but still a good read.

A nice, solid thriller, that will appeal to a large audience but will blow no-one away.
