A Spectacular Story from the Future is a lovely story teaching children that we need to take care of the planet and all the animals on it. It is also illustrated beautifully. Both my 5 year old son and I loved this book.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Kat discovers she can talk to animals. Mr. Giggles, her cat, is the first one but pretty soon she is conversing with all sorts of creatures including Mother Nature. She learns that if we do not take care of the animals and the earth, the future will not be very nice. It is a message that has resonated in various forms from the 1960s to today.

It is a message that should be shared and I suspect, the younger the recipient, the more impactful the lesson. While it is written for the young audience and has some very cute pictures, it may be a tad too preachy for some. It will resonate beautifully with others. The reader must decide for themselves. It is still worthy of four purrs and two paws up.
