Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
Mental illnesses, especially schizophrenia, are so often misunderstood and most of these illnesses are not cookie cutter diagnoses.
The author, who is a psychologist, struggled to understand and cope when her son was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Her son is extremely fortunate that he had the knowledge to admit he needed help. He's also lucky to have a loving family and support groups to help him.
The first half of the book was pretty interesting but around the second half, it kind of got repetitive.
I think this would be a good book for anyone to read who knows someone who is struggling with any mental illness.
An intriguing insight into what its like to have a child with schizophrenia. Written with honesty and understanding, the author walks us through the journey of the last 20 years of her life. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for a chance to read and review this book.
