Wow, this book had me hooked from the start, it would make a an amazing tv thriller drama!

Sarah is a young waitress, struggling with debt after the death of her Aunt and the high costs of living in New York. She applies for a second job as a Nanny with the  rich Bird family. "Discretion is of the utmost importance. Special conditions apply" reads the advert.

With no previous nannying experience she is surprised to get the job and, even better, it is extremely well paid. This could be the answer to all her money problems and perhaps she and her fiance Jonathan could start to make wedding plans after all!

However, the family is not quite what it seems. After the third day why has she not yet met the Bird's young daughter Patty? Why is the child's bedroom so dated? Why does the family need a Nanny if Mrs Bird stays at home all the time and why is she so over'protective of her child?

With things seeming a bit odd Sarah begins to think that perhaps this isn't the job  for her. However, she finds that she has unwittingly signed a contract tying her to the family for three months, a contract to be protected at all costs...

I don't want to say any more for fear of spoilers but I really enjoyed this one! Will definitely  be looking up this author again!

Not for me, all that misery. There wasn't a single character in this book that I felt connected with and the twists and turns were over the top in my opinion. It couldn't convince me, this story...

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the digital copy in exchange for an honest.

Woah! Thrill ride at the ready! Included a whole lotta plot twists thay will seriously FU*K with your brain lmao!!

It's 5am I have strep throat and the discomfort is keeping me awake so in between napping I've been reading simply because I couldn't stop! This is so freaking fast paced and the unexpected twists have you on a whirlwind. I can honestly say I never bloody guessed a single one! DAMN!!!

Like first I was thinking easy money for the new nanny but (like none of us ever do) she didn't read the fine print and found herself body deep in crazy!!

I loved the characters but I suppose Mr Bird is a bit of a complete arse wipe but he did add to the story! I enjoyed how they covered some serious mental health, okay the characters didn't handle it very well but it's good to touch base with the real goings on in the world, especially in a hair raising, entertaining, suspense driven book.

Georgina Cross is definitely an author I will be looking out for in the future!!

IS 2022 THE YEAR OF THE FIVE STAR?! *screams in confused*

Honestly I’m shook by how liberally I’m scattering these ratings about but believe me when I say, this one deserves nothing less.

What you should probably know about me, is that I LOVE thrillers that involve nannies. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the creepy kid vibes, maybe it’s the fact that they usually provide major mysterious rich people dramz but whatever it is, I just can’t get enough.

I started this ARC as soon as I was approved... & then proceeded to fly through the entire thing in about 5 hours. I personally think it’s a rare quality for a book to be compulsively readable & I literally could not put this down because there was NO LULL in pace!

This was everything I want a good thriller to be - fast paced, twisty & adrenaline pumping, with a protagonist that you’re rooting for right through to the end. I also loved that although the stakes were high, they were also realistic, which just made it all the more terrifying! I honestly couldn’t decide what I should be screaming for Sarah to do next!

Is this on your watchlist? If not, it absolutely should be!

What an amazing book!
When Sarah spots a flyer for a nannying job she decides to apply, and is invited to go for an interview.
She makes a great connection with Collette, the mother of 3 year old Patty and is soon offered the position.
Sarah is thrilled because the job is very well paid, and she is struggling with mountains of debt due to paying for treatment for her recently deceased aunt who had raised her after the death of her parents.
On her first day on the job, she is asked to sign a NDA by Patty's half brother Stephen, and a contract that states she must stay in her job until Patty's 4th birthday party in 3 months time. Even though she finds this a little odd, she signs it anyway. She is told that discretion is vital, and she isn't even allowed to tell her fiance about the family, as secrecy is paramount. She asks to finally meet Patty ,only to be told she is ill so isn't up to having visitors at the moment.
She turns up for work every day but still hasn't set eyes on the little girl she is meant to be caring for. Collette's behaviour is increasingly erratic, and still Patty hasn't appeared. It seems that Sarah is caring for Collette more than anything.
She finally realises that everything is not as it seems within the family and their household staff, and desperately wants to to leave her job. However, she is threatened and reminded that she signed a 3 month contract.
Increasingly, Sarah is dreading going into work, and one thing leads to another and escalates to a surprise twist at the end.
This book is very well written and I loved the character of Sarah. I will certainly look for more books by this author. A1+++

One of the best books I have read this year. Sarah lives in NYC in a small apartment with her boyfriend. She works as a waitress in a local restaurant. She has quite a lot of debts, so when she finds a job as a nanny for a rich family she thinks she hit the jackpot. The pay is very generous and the work seems easy enough, there is only one 'problem', even after 2 days being there she still hasn't met the little girl she supposed to be looking after. Sarah starts to question if they are hiding something.
Lovely read and couldn't put it down.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last.

Wow certainly never saw that coming. An intriguing story line with twists and turns along the way which made for a gripping read.

Sarah Larsen lives with her fiancé Jonathan in an apartment in Virginia Beach. They are both deep in debt, especially Sarah after her Aunt Clara and guardian died, she was left with the debt of her medical bills. Her parents died when she was five and Aunt Clara brought her up as if she was her own daughter. She waitresses at a restaurant to make ends meet and hopes one day she can marry Jonathan. So, when she finds a flyer with a job advertised for a nanny in an upmarket district of the town with utmost discretion required. She jumps at the chance to apply.
She surprised when she receives an invitation for an interview as she has not experience. But that doesn’t deter her to going for the interview. So when she arrives at a swanky apartment building and goes to the twelfth floor Penthouse suite and meets the Birds. She knows something is not right. But she needs to get rid of the debt she is in and takes the job anyway when they offer it to her.
Thank you, Avon, for a copy of A Nanny needed by Georgina Cross. This is a disturbing, gripping thriller of how far one family will go after the loss of their child. I did enjoy this thriller until the last third of the book I found a little too much farfetched, especially the ending. 4 stars from me.

This was a very average thriller. The plot did not seem original. The characters were weak at times and the twists were predictable. It is an ok read but not memorable at all.

I'll definitely be looking to read more from Georgina Cross in future too, that's for sure.
The perfect book to wrap yourself around on a dark night. This book starts with action, which instantly got me hooked and keeps it and tension going throughout the book! This book needs to be on your radar! I love it so much! Also got the audio version which is just fab!

A young woman takes a job as a nanny for an impossibly wealthy family, thinking she's found her entre into a better life--only to discover instead she's walked into a world of deception and dark secrets.

Nanny needed. Discretion is of the utmost importance. Special conditions apply.

I'm not usually a psychological thriller reader but I was hooked from the first line; I couldn’t stop reading this amazing book. I loved how the characters were portraited and how Georgina made you liked them and then, BAM!, she made you change your mind completely about the characters you liked or thought they were good. I really liked Sarah and how she managed everything at the end. I was very surprised with the plot twist because you didn’t see it coming.

Definitely a 5/5, cant wait to read more of Georgina Cross.

Wow! This had me hooked. It wasn't the most original concept but it was really well written and the characters and pace of the plot all kept me invested until the end. As I said, a lot of it was predictive but that didn't take away from my enjoyment single it was still a good story and it was fast paced and well written. The end did feel like ot all wrapped up a bit too quickly and it took some trust to go along with a slightly unbelievable plot but it is a fiction thriller so why not lean into the unbelievable for the sake of a good story! A nice easy book to get you through a nice sunny day

'Nanny Needed' - what a great page-turner!

Sarah, living in NYC under crippling debts, responds to a job advertisement to be a nanny on the Upper West Side; a job that'll solve all her money worries. But it comes with a big deal-breaker: she must sign a NDA & never speak to anyone outside of the Bird residence about the family. As the job progresses, Sarah is thrown in to a surreal world that she didn't expect, which comes with heaps of secrets, lies & deceit.

The book was easy to read & totally gripping. The only thing that knocks a star off the rating was that I saw most of the twists coming. But there were still a couple of surprises & enough intrigue to keep me hooked throughout. In fact, it was pretty hard to put down & I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I'll definitely be looking to read more from Georgina Cross in future too, that's for sure.

Thank you to Netgalley, Georgina Cross & Avon Books UK for allowing me to review the ARC of 'Nanny Needed'; all views are honest & my own.

I enjoyed this book. Sarah lives in New York with her fiance Jonathan. They are really struggling financially, so when Sarah sees an ad for a nanny in a penthouse appartment with a salary to match, she applies. However, it soon becomes apparent that the wealthy Bird family are not what they seem. Sarah has to sign an NDA, and why is there no sign of the child she will be looking after? This was not what I expected when I read the description, but I found it to be a good page turner, even though I thought the denouement was very far fetched. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.
Copied to Goodreads.

Being a nanny myself I wanted to give this book a try, but I’m afraid it wasn’t for me. To be perfectly honest I had a real sense of deja vu all the time I was reading, I honestly felt I had read this story or something similar before. The latter part of the book was just one reveal after another, which should have been a good thing, but unfortunately it just became stranger as it went on.

This is totally my own feelings on this book and I know others may enjoy it. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy.

I have read two books from this author and I actually enjoyed reading her books. So I was super excited when I got my hands on this book. And yes, Georgina Cross did not disappoint.

Sarah Larsen is in heaps of debts. So when she sees an ad about a nanny wanted for an elite family in Upper West Side, it was too good to be true and was hoping to solve the financial issues that she and her fiance Jonathan are facing. The family is none other than Birds family and Collette gets acquanited with Sarah. But soon, Sarah find a disturbing secret about the Birds family that might threaten her new career and...her life.

I have to say wow! I was literally hooked into the story from start to finish! The story is intense, told mainly from Sarah's perspectives. This was actually a fast paced thriller, quite unputdownable with twists and thrills along the way. Though I expected that type of ending to happen, nonetheless, the story kept me hooked and I was literally thrown to the edge of the seat! The writing was really great as the author did a good job of drawing the reader into the story.

This is such a roller coaster ride--a fast paced thriller with twists and turns and quite unputdownable--worth five stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Avon for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Nanny Needed is such a clever premise, a young woman in financial difficulty taking a job that seems too good to be true. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. Intriguing from page one, well structured, and Sarah was a character I really warmed to. I will be looking out for future Georgina Cross novels and recommending this one to friends.

Nanny Needed is an enjoyable read full of twists and turns with a few shocks thrown in for good measure.

Sarah Larsen is living with her fiancée, they both work at a local restaurant but she’s severely in debt. She finds a flyer seeking a nanny, it states discretion is of the utmost importance. Arriving for interview, at a glamorous penthouse they offer an eye watering salary that could be the end of her money troubles. The only catch, she has to sign an NDA. Could this be her ticket out of her dead end job? The only problem is, there seems to be something very strange about the Bird family.

A tale of secrets, lies and deception, you will find it hard to put down. Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and the author for the chance to review.
