I think this is book four in the series of Hedgehog Hollow. Samantha runs a hedgehog sanctuary and is getting married to the local vet. You might think this is one of those cosy romantic books, yes it has nice romantic parts in it but it is also very gritty as Samantha comes in contact with some of life's low life.
She has a strange relationship with her mother and has never felt loved by her. Because of threats and break ins to her sanctuary Samantha has been suffering from PTS. This doesn't seem to stop her helping everyone around her and seeing the best in everyone.
She has lots of trials to get through before she gets to the alter and the happy ever after which I'm hoping for her. I love this series and hope it keeps going.

I will start by saying that this book is part of a series but this can stand alone. This book certainly packs a punch as it deals with some quite meaty subjects which are written about with sensitivity and care. It will certainly test your emotions, it's heartwarming and heartbreaking but overall, a good read.

This was the first of the hedgehog hollow series I had read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed as I absolutely love her other books. I am going to go back and read the others in the series now as this was such a heartwarming and uplifting read with some heartbreak and sadness along the way all wrapped up against the backdrop of beautiful hedgehog hollow. This is book 4 in the series but that didn’t detract from my reading as their was a summary at the beginning and I was able to read it as a stand alone.

This was the story of Phoebe and how she has got through a lot of very unpleasant situations in her life and how she is trying to over come them and build a future for herself and her cousin darcie. Her strong personality and character shines through and also shows how anything is possible with a little help from friends in the form of the kind hearted people at hedgehog hollow who don’t just rescue the beautiful hedgehogs but people too.

The story comes to a close with josh and sams wedding which then ends on a cliffhanger and leaves the reader wanting more. I am already excited for book 5.

As always with Jessica's books this did not disappoint. I think this is my favourite Hedgehog Hollow book so far. I absolutely loved Phoebe's character and story. I cannot wait for the next installment.

Title is a bit deceiving as the wedding only really features at the end. A good book none the less though.

I enjoyed this book but felt the title was a bit deceiving. Wasn't really about the wedding, that was a five min addition at the end.

This is the next book in the Hedgehog Hollow series and if you haven't read the others what are you waiting for? It was lovely to catch up with all the characters from the series and see what was in store this time for Samantha who owns and runs Hedgehog Hollow, which is a rescue centre for hedgehogs. It was lovely to meet some new hedgehogs too, there is lots going on in this book, with some nice and not so nice characters. It was lovely to see how the community all pulled together to help Samantha. I have loved all of this series and will be sad when it ends. I really feel as though I know all the characters personally, and I would love to help Samantha out at the rescue centre caring for all those gorgeous hedgehogs. Also at the back of the book there is information about hedgehogs which I found very interesting and feel as though I learnt a thing or two.

Love the Hedgehog Hollow books. Samantha is getting back on track after the problems with the Grimes family until she finds out her bank account has been wiped out. Phoebe is trying to get away from her family.

This is book 4 in the Hedgehog Hollow series and probably the darkest one Ive read. It tackles some hard topics - child abuse, ptsd, rape, bullying and each chapter there’s another heartbreaking read. Throughout it all Samantha remains stoic and kind but I did start to wonder how many bad things could happen to one person. I enjoyed the previous 3 books tremendously but this one was a hard read. Maybe it should have come with a trigger warning?

A WEDDING AT HEDGEHOG HOLLOW by JESSICA REDLAND.

This is book four in the Hedgehog Hollow series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous three books as there is a very comprehensive catch up at the beginning of this book that will easily bring you up to speed. That said, if you haven’t read the previous three books in the series, then why not? You’ve missed a real treat, I’d seriously encourage you to read them all.

So, to book four, A Wedding At Hedgehog Hollow. Where do I start?
Well first things first, this book is sporting a beautiful cover, that will call to you from the shelves and jump into your basket.

This book picks up Just before the ‘cliffhanger’ from book three. Christmas is coming and everything is running smoothly at Hedgehog Hollow. Following the festivities, Samantha, the owner of Hedgehog Hollow makes a shocking discovery, that puts the future of the rescue centre in doubt.
Samantha also has her upcoming wedding to fiance Josh to look forward to, but with Samantha’s discovery throwing shade on everything, can the wedding go ahead as planned.

Phoebe has been volunteering at Hedgehog Hollow. As an accountancy student, she has been helping to secure grants and take care of the rescue centre’s finances.
Phoebe has her own secrets to hide that could jeopardise her valuable work experience at Hedgehog Hollow.

This book is largely Phoebe’s story. With both of her parents dead, she is left in the care of her stepmother. Tina is a vile character, who along with the rest of her family, have their own connection to Hedgehog Hollow.

This story is full of light and shade.
Parts of it I found absolutely heartbreaking. I felt dread in my stomach at what might happen next. Jessica Redlands raw writing packs a hefty punch with it’s brutal descriptions that will tear at your heartstrings and leave you feeling broken for the awful things happening to the most vulnerable and beautiful characters.
Then we have the lighter moments. The love, the strong sense of family and community, positivity, hope, courage, romance, forgiveness, justice and second chances at life.
As much as I found parts of this book a tough read, I was also uplifted and found much of the story truly heartwarming.

I loved the characters in this story. Samantha is strong, kind and caring, while still dealing with her own demons.
Phoebe is so damaged, but strong and resilient. She’ll do anything to protect the people she loves.
Little Darcie is adorable. The sweetest little unicorn lover you’ll ever read about.

This book is a solid, action-packed, page-turner.
Having read all of Jessica’s books, I feel confident in saying that this really is her best work yet.
I cried, I laughed, I felt the hurt and pain that some of the characters went through, and I was also filled with the warm and fuzzies when the good stuff happened. A real rollercoaster ride of a book.

By the end, this story is tied up beautifully, but we are left with a few teasers that will hopefully lead us into book five of the series.

I should say as well that this book is full of Hedgehogs! All credit to Jessica for the work that has clearly gone into making sure that what she has written in relation to the Hedgehogs and their care is accurate and educational to the reader.

So to sum up... This book will break you. Then it will pick you back up and fill your heart with love and hope.

A gripping read, filled with the power of love and some adorable Hedgehogs.
Five outstanding stars.

Another brilliant hedgehog installment from Jessica Redland. As with the other three books in the series, the characters feel three-dimensional and the story is well researched and planned out.

I can lose myself in Hedgehog Hollow for hours, immersing myself in this universe and reading the whole thing in one sitting, and A Wedding At Hedgehog Hollow has been no different.

Picking up where book 3 left off, this fourth novel is told from the perspective of the main character Samantha, but also features a second narrator - a character we've met before but not learnt much about yet.

The story unfolds in the lead up to Sam & Josh's wedding, bringing together much loved previous characters with a small cast of new players. As always, the theme revolves around kindness, family and of course, the plight of the hedgehogs!

A beautiful tale, my only grumble is that now I have to wait for the release of Book 5 to find out what happens next!

What can I say about this series? The author has created in Samantha, a wonderful, caring, positive and loving person who sees the best in those, even if they don’t deserve it: Chloe and her mum!!!

As with her last books, it’s not all sunshine and roses. The author delves into some tough subjects, written beautifully, and I’ve never been so emotionally invested as I have with these books! What Phoebe and Darcie have gone through, how Sam copes with her PTSD and how wonderfully kind the community around hedgehog Hollow is after the theft had me tearing up on many occasions!

As always the love between Sam and Josh, is the one constant we can rely on, they are a perfect match

Outstanding book

I only recently came across Jessica’s work with a Christmas novel of hers, and absolutely fell in love with her words. I haven’t read any of her “hedgehog hollow” books before and this being book number four, I was a little apprehensive that I might not know what was going on, but Jessica has kindly provided an update on the characters and the story so far at the start of this book, so you can quickly get up to speed. I did still get slightly lost at times but it was great having this to refer to.

Making hedgehogs the main focus is a genius move, as everyone loves hedgehogs. You get dog people and cat people, fish people, horse people and snake people, but I’ve not met anyone who doesn’t love a hedgehog, which instantly warms you to the story.

Each character is so wonderfully written and developed. You feel for them; scared for them, sad for them, happy for them, warming towards them - you go through every emotion. There were some characters I liked more than others, and some that, no matter their supposed redeemable aspects, I couldn’t gel with.

There are some very tough subjects touched upon - domestic violence, child abuse, drug abuse, self-harming, PTSD, fraud - and it’s all so sensitively written about.

My only complaint is I wish the outcome of the Tina storyline (I won’t go in to too much depth for fear of spoilers) was given in more detail as, considering it takes up a lot of the first 1/2 of the book, the resolution was all a bit too quick for me.

Loved all the books in this series and this was good as well! Good to be be back and see all the regular characters. There is laughter and tears all rolled into one story! You will throughly enjoy it.

The fourth book in the series, and I am still so in love with all of the characters and the story line!! It’s finally almost Sammie and Josh’s wedding day but there are a few obstacles they need to overcome first. The biggest being how are they going to keep the hedgehogs fed and warm after all their money has been stolen?! What part did Phoebe play in the theft of their money? Such a delightful read and I want more!! Can’t wait for the next installment in the series!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley, Jessica Redland Boldwood Books for this edition and hearing my honest review. Looking forward to reading more with you

I enjoyed this one but as usual it was more dark than fluff. Lots of harsh topics, but not in an uncomfortable way really. It’s nice to see these things being written about with compassion. I look forward to the next in the series. These books in the series are easy to read and good to relax with.

Great to be back at Hedgehog Hollow. Gosh you felt for Phoebe . What a terrible childhood she had but Samantha was amazing and forgiving . So many issues dealt with rape,PDT , child cruelty and then all the lovely bits about hedgehogs and kindness of the community..The wedding was lovely at the end. Josh was amazing character and Samantha’s father. One of those books you can’t put down. The information at the back about hedgehogs is great and Jessica’s message at the end is lovely. A must must read

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow by Jessica Redland is a great contemporary fiction that has it all: nature, romance, suspense, and adorable hedgehogs! It is the fourth book in the Hedgehog Hollow series.

I just adore this series. I have read all four books now, and am so excited that it is still to continue.

This one sees Sam and Josh finally tying the knot and also has several continuing side plots along with it. New romances blossom…old romances possibly are rekindled….and we also get to see alternating viewpoints between Sam and her life and Phoebe. There are challenges and triumphs.

The two things I loved the most: the ending and the precious hedgehogs.

5/5 stars
