A fun introduction to cricket rules, culture, and gameplay. The plot was a little unrealistic but still fun, and the main characters were enjoyable - it would be great to see them in a series. There were a few odd notes - the climate change rant seemed relevant but not matching the tone of the rest of the book and the scene with the captain and the green door was baffling and incomprehensible (felt like a noir or fantasy novel scene plunked down in a straightforward sports underdog story). That said I could see a lot of kids enjoying this!
