It's a lovely book with plenty of patterns, from detailed to minimalist. Made some of them for family members and they loved them.

This was an excellent book! I loved the patterns and colors, and how approachable every project was!

These patterns are beautiful, brightly colored, and LOOK like they could be finished by a beginner. However, they are not completely beginner friendly as the book is advertised, which I think is important to point out. As an advanced-level stitcher, I am highly critical of embroidery books/patterns, and can easily identify where there may be problems for newbies if I'm having to "assume" information where there are holes missing.

If one wants to advertise their book as "beginner-friendly," you should guarantee that ALL of your stitches are easy to read and labeled with the symbols. Yes, a few can slip through, but this occurs numerous times per pattern, and the stitches that the author uses don't even match the ones that are patterned for - so what one may stitch will not look like what is photographed, which will not be helpful for beginners just learning specific stitches.

This book had the potential to be a legitimately stellar (no pun intended) embroidery book, but with the previous issues - and even incomplete patterns in some cases - it's not even worth considering more than a flip through.

What a pretty book. I love embroidery and I love astrology. This book had some really lovely designs. I would love to try a few of these. They seem like they are simple enough to work with. I wish there was a few more options for each individual sign but overall I loved this.

A fabulous book of awesome cross stitch patterns! It has details for all astrology signs. The color scheme helps the designs stand out of a variety of fabrics you can chose to stitch on.

When I saw this book, I knew I had to read it because it’s right up my alley. Opening it up, I found that it’s also a comprehensive guide for anyone new to embroidery. There are all kinds of easy-to-understand information on everything from fabric and needles to types of stitches. The stitch guide is so easy to understand between the written explanation and the graphs provided. While this information is not new to me, some of the stitches were, and I found them easy to understand. I feel confident that I would be able to do the stitches I’m not familiar with the help of the stitch guide.

Now for the patterns. Every single pattern is absolutely stunning. The patterns are so colorful and beautiful. I already know that I want to stitch at least three of the patterns from this book. I also find that the patterns are easy to understand with a clear stitch key and tips on where to start, how to make it easier on ourselves, and what to leave unstitched until the end when necessary. All in all, I found this to be a beautiful book and I’m excited to stitch up some of the patterns in the future.

This is a fun book of astrology and other space related things to embroider and applique onto all sorts of things you can dream up. Some of the designs are fairly easy, while others are more advanced. There are clean pictures and instructions for all designs in the book. I intend to use many of these designs in the coming months and years.

I really enjoyed looking at this book. I haven't stitches any of the designs. It's a much "flatter" more disciplined and tidy style of embroidery that the DropCloth Samplers school of mayhem and texture that I have been following recently.. The patterns move between gorgeous and cute - the bat particularly drew me. The illustrations and worked examples are delightful.. The book start with an embroidery "how to" and finishes with some assistance in personalising and using the designs to make your own designs.

It's no secret to anybody who knows me in real life that I'm very much into astrology and dabble in embroidery, though a goal for 2022 is to do a lot more than dabble! When I saw Astrology Embroidery was being released I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy and I was lucky enough to get to see this little gem ahead of publication thanks to NetGalley (thank you!).

The guides are so easy to follow - even for somebody like me who is very much a newcomer to the world of embroidery. I love how clearly everything is explained and I really think this is suitable for beginners all the way up to more experienced stitchers. Inside Astrology Embroidery you'll find everything from guides to embroidering the star signs to other beautiful images from the night sky and beyond and, even better, you're not limited to only embroidering on a hoop. I want to try and take things one step further and embroider a t-shirt or a tote bag...I need a bit more practice before I'm ready for that but it's definitely a goal for next year and I know Maya Hanisch's Astrology Embroidery is going to help me on my way...pictures of my attempts definitely coming to Instagram soon!

With most people taking up new hobbies due to the pandemic, Astrology Embroidery will give you a new hobby that easily explains to you how to go about it.

I have personally taken up cross stitch, mainly because while I love how traditional embroidery looks, I found it very daunting to even consider attempting . However cross stitch, while having it own beauty, is a lot more structured compared to the artistic nature of embroidery; I have always wanted to give embroidery a shot. Astrology Embroidery not only is a very beginner friendly book that introduces you to the craft, it also guides you to get out of your embroidery comfort zone to improve your craft.

With a plethora of designs included, all broken down to very beginner friendly with the DMC thread colour provided, this is the perfect book to sit down with and just get lost in the craft. Also, if the zodiac symbols are not your cup-of-tea, then a few designs that are not directly linked to the zodiac are included, like the lunar phases and the planets.

A great book for both beginners and people who are looking for more designs to create.

The colors and designs in the book are stunning. They are unique and bold. However, these are definitely not beginner friendly patterns for the most part. I would say that the majority of the patterns are advanced intermediate to expert in difficulty.
Farther along in book some of the patterns and instructions are not all the way completed, but once they are completed, they will be absolutely stunning both in the book and by whomever makes them.
If you or someone you know wants to expand their repertoire of embroidery project, this will be a perfect gift for that!

At first I like the concept of the book, embroidery and astrology. I was a bit disappointed with the variety of pattern inside, it was a bit empty and lacking of originality. I expected more design and ideas.. I also found the explanation of the different stitches a bit unclear.
I read this through my phone and netgalley app and I found format horrible, it was mashed together and the pictures where squished and completely not on scale. Would recommend to buy it and not download it if you like this kind of book..
