Love the designs in this book! Different ways of representing signs thru out embroidery! Just waiting for a couple of free days to make all the cancer signs designs!
I quickly looked over this book and I am eager to try out some of the designs. I felt somewhat disappointed, however, as the designs are not particularly innovative or interesting. Astrology is so rich and there is so much to draw from. While the designs look relatively simple to execute, there does not seem to be much inspiration behind them other than the stereotypical themes and motifs associated with the signs. I was hoping for something more creative.
Some beautiful designs, very colorful. Not a great pick for a beginner. Lovely for those who have some embroidery experience. My ARC was messed up in quite a few places but what I could see had vivid colors, lush designs and detailed patterns.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
This was a little simpler than I thought it would be. Loved the star sign patterns, but not too keen on the rest of them - they looked too cartoonish and didn't seem like they were in the same style as the others. Seemed like this book needed a bit more editing and checking through
Modern and cute. This book includes ideas for transferring patterns, as well as instruction for stitches. The art is adorable, and includes not only the 12 astrology signs, but also art related to nature, crystals, the planets, and other arcane images. Excited to make some new projects!
This book has two things I love: embroidery and astrology/space! As I downloaded this ebook I had high hopes and expectations. However, the edition I received is still very much a work in progress, so it was difficult to gauge how helpful these patterns are. I did really like the stich guide at the front, and the diagrams there made sense. The first 12 zodiac patterns are beautiful and well done, but the further I went through the book, it's almost as though the quality of the patterns started to decline. The planets around the sun and the telescope were nice patterns, but other patterns like the sun and the moon had interesting eye design choices that felt less cosmic and mystic and more cartoonish and silly. Even having the eyes be closed would be an improvement, in my opinion.
Overall this is a really nice book and once it's a finished and complete, it's definitely something I'd point to if someone was looking for a cosmic astrology embroidery book. Thank you Quarto and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
