As a rat owner and member of the National Fancy Rat Society, I am always here for books portraying rats in a positive light Overall, this was a fun little book and I appreciate the messsage.

Reggie’s Best Week Ever! by Sarah Woodcock is a very cute and important story for young readers. Reggie is a rat and he knows that he’s a rat. Reggie sets out to change peoples perception of rats by doing random acts of kindness. Reggie’s Best Week Ever! is all about teaching kids that everyone has a part to play to impact our world for good, that the part that they play is important and matters to the people around them. This book would be perfect to read for any type of story time. I highly recommend this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I wouldn't recommend this book. The premise is okay - rat trying to prove to the world that rats aren't the awful creatures portrayed on TV. The little rat goes round being kind to people to show this. But the whole book is written in rhymes that don't scan particularly well.
The pictures weren't too my taste either, I'm afraid.

I love this story. Reggie is a beautiful character with genius ideas and a heart of gold. But I didn't particularly enjoy the illustrations and the colour palette.

Reggie's Best Week Ever! is about a rat trying to prove the stereotypes about rats are wrong. He sets to out prove rats are kind and generous members of the community and achieves his goal by handing out treats and doing odd jobs for community members free of charge. A cute story to illustrate why you cannot make assumptions based on physical traits. Considering the central message of the story, an increase in the diversity of the supporting characters would be benficial.
