Another utterly charming and gorgeous read from one of my favourite authors. Main character Hope is rebuilding her life back home in York, taking a new job at an antique shop and meeting lots of new people including Professor Sex-God Ciaran and adorably cute Will. The shop's hidden treasure offers a story within a story through the discovery of an ancient Egyptian engagement ring and accompanying love letter. Once again Holly Hepburn delivers a brilliant cast with characters of all generations from four-year-old Brodie to the eclectic but not-so-young Mr Young or formidable Eleanor Lovelace. Originally published as four novellas, this is now available as a single book and a must-read for all fans of feel-good women's fiction.
“I suppose they don’t always know what they’re looking for - browsing and discovering a hidden treasure that is half the fun.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hope returns to York to be nearer her family, after the tragic loss of her husband. While walking around the town, she finds herself drawn to the same shop she used to admire when she was a child. Fate had it that they were hiring, and Hope seemed to be exactly what Mr Young was looking for. Hope finds exactly what she needed in her life amongst the aisles of The Ever After Emporium.
Wow. This is the perfect lighthearted, feel-good, happy escapism read! It’s not your typical boy meets girl love story, which I was so happy about! This book was everything that I needed to start the new year with! The characters were incredibly portrayed, especially “Mr Sleezy” (no spoilers from me), but I definitely knew something was up when he had so-called lost his phone!
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, easy read to get yourself lost in, definitely give this a go!

Hope has moved home to York, after losing her husband. She gets a job in the antique shop which always intrigued her as a child. through the shop she meets Will and Ciaran, but who is the man for her?
The book was initially published in four parts and you can see this clearly, as the same information was often repeated and well, it was too much.
I would love to see Elenor's complete story, to be honest - the short updates we got on her life were thrilling and exciting and I like such sassy heroines, so when the author would like to try herself in historical fiction, I'm already here, waiting :)
The characters were utterly brilliant, sometimes annoying, sometimes making me feel desperate for them, sometimes a bit too unrealistic, all with flaws, problems and hopes. The more I got to know Hope, the more I liked her, her one - liners and sense of humour were brilliant and I loved seeing her coming out of her shell. The setting in York with all the lovely descriptions couldn't be more perfect and also the fact that it was set over a year, giving us a chance to glimpse at different seasons was a brilliant idea.
The author also touches upon soe more serious issues and I truly admired how she deals with grief in this book, showing us through two different characters how individual it is and how it also affects those close to you. It was emotional, it felt genuine and standing ovation to Miss Hepburn for capturing it like this.
I wouldn't say that the book was amazing, but I still think it deserves those 5 stars - I absolutely enjoyed it, even though you could immediately secon - guess how it's going to end and what's going to happen. But - so what? It was absorbing, interesting, funny and poignant, it ticked all the right boxes and it simply felt so warm and full of heart - I really don't need more! It was truly a charming read with a little mystery at the heart, uplifting and feel - good.
Hope returns to York after her husband tragically passes away. She is instantly drawn to the little shop of hidden treasures and discovers a beautiful and captivating story that she needs to unearth the details of attached to a special object in the shop.
I adored this read, set over a year, you are walked through all the different seasons in beautiful York and I want to visit in every single one!
The characters are like a great big hug, welcoming and supportive to the little bit broken Hope. I love how she gradually builds her new life and the way the relationships develop along the way is truly special.
I particularly admired the way grief is dealt with throughout the story. From the tiny Brodie to Hope herself, it is touched on in all manners of ways and highlights how people heal differently but can connect through loss.
An emotional but heart warming read, as always Holly Hepburn has produced a book that you want to step into.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Following the death of her husband Hope decides to return to her own family in York. She finds herself working in the emporium that she used to dream about when she was a little girl. On the discovery of a Scarab hidden in a puzzle box she is sent on an adventure to find the original owner. She also discovers friendship and love along the way,
Thanks to Simon and Schuster UK and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Orginally published in 4 parts, this is now available as a single book. While I enjoyed the book I did skip over all of the recaps every time a new part was introduced.
Overall a good read.
A beautifully written book from Holly Hepburn. Mystery and romance all set in York. The characters are believable and real, a book you can't put down. This book touches on the loss of a partner. Totally recommend. Thank you netgalley for the advance copy
Really enjoyed this book, could not put it down. Will definitely read more by this author. .
This is the part 2 of the Little Shop series. Although I haven't read the first book of the series, it didn't really matter as the story was very cheesy and interesting to me.
Hope after her husband's death returns to York and work at a shop called Little Shop of Hidden Treasures, a shop filled with ancient artifacts and treasures. In one such artifact, she comes across an Egyptian treasure that once belonged to a woman named Eleanor. And while working at the shop she meets two men--Will who is looking after his silent niece Brody after his parents' death and Ciaran, a university professor she gets acquainted when working to find the secret of the Egyptian treasure.
This is such a cute, story and I actually enjoyed reading it. I do like the bit of a love triangle between Will, Hope and Ciaran even though in the end, I was rooting that Will and Hope will get together which they did in the end. The part about the Egyptian treasure and the story and history behind that treasure intrigued me and piqued my interest. Overall, this is was actually a cute, funny romance novel that will make you laugh and cry at the same time! Worth 4.5 stars! Looking forward to read more books from this series.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.
Another excellent book by Holly Hepburn . Set in York. A lovely story about a beautiful antique shop and a lady called Hope who lost and found love in the book. Also a story about the past and a child who would not speak. Beautiful setting . Loved it
An enjoyable read. I loved all the descriptions of York, and I also liked the mystery of the emerald ring. The characters were well written too. I was rooting for Hope, and I thought Will was lovely. The scene stealer was, of course, little Brodie. I do wish the main romance had been given a bit more time towards the end. And one observation: I think a little more editing was required of the book as a whole. I realise four separate stories were put together, and the recaps were necessary for each individual story, but we didn't need the recaps in the book as a whole. they were repetitive. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
An easy, cosy read with added mystery. I loved the fact it was set in York, one of my favourite cities in the world.
Recommended if you're looking for un uplifting read!

Magical wonderful Holly Hepburn!!
This is a hugely enjoyable new book, with great themes of life, loss, antiques, English history, personal growth and recovery!!
Hope returns to York from her life in London to be near her family. She begins a new part time job at the Emporium she has been fascinated by most of her life. Making new friends and a new life has a few hiccups. Brilliant characters of all generations. Funny, sad, touching, frustrating, enjoyable. A fabulous read!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read early.

After Hope’s husband passes away, she worried that her happy days won’t come again, they’ve gone with het husband. She leaves London and moves nearer to her family in York to start her life again.
There’s an antique shop that she’s always looked through the windows of. One day, she see’s posted on the shop window a job advert and applies.
Whilst working, a customer uncovers an Egyptian antique within another item.
Two different men come into Hope’s life, Will, whose recently lost family himself and is now the guardian for his niece, and there’s Ciaran, whose help she asks to uncover the mystery of the antique.
Both men will bring two different endings for Hope.
Will she choose the right man and be happy again??
Highly Recommend This Book.
An utterly charming romantic read with added mystery.

Hope has returned to York to be nearer her family following the loss of her husband, she returns to her favourite childhood emporium and finds not also a job but love, friendship and a mystery to be uncovered.
This book takes you through the twists and turns of Hope’s new life and the relationship’s she forms whilst also entwining the story of Eleanor Lovelace and her partner Khalid following the discovery of a green emerald ring hidden within a puzzle box found in the emporium.
This was a fantastic read and was expertly written as usual by the wonderful Holly Hepburn, the characters leapt from the page and made it easy to fall in love with the story.
I cannot wait for the next instalment and to see the characters further develop and bring other characters stories to life.
Thank to you to Simon Schuster Uk, NetGalley and Holley Hepburn for allowing me to review this ARC.

Hope Henderson is a young widow who returns to York. Here she finds a job in a shop called Emporium.
She meets Will who is gardian to Brodie who lost her mum and dad in a road traffic accident. Brodie doesn't speak. She is playing with a puzzle that she manages to unlock and inside is a mystery that Hope sets on solving.
This was like a story inside a story. I loved the journey Hope sets out on to find out more about Elenor and her life.
Also Hope has her own life to sort out after meeting Cairon.
I loved reading about York having been there in the summer. The Minster is definitely a place worthy of a visit.
This is a delightful read that kept me hooked. It certainly had a satisfying ending.
Thanks to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster for the ARC in return for an honest review.
The Little Shop of Hidden Treasures is the latest release by Holly Hepburn and I fell in love with this book right from the moment I saw the cover, shallow of me I know! The little cosy welcoming street on the cover depicts the street that houses the Emporium so well and I completely lost my self in this story.
Hope is a young widow who is taking a new path in her life, moving back to her childhood roots to be closer to her family but her next step she wasn’t so sure on until she stumbled across the spellbinding Emporium that she remembers from her younger years and her next step seemed to have found her.
In her early days in her new job a discovery is made that opens up a new project for her but will she find more than she is looking for in her research.
This is so much for than just a cosy little romance that I usually love to escape into this storyline has so much to discover and I was as intrigued and invested as Hope in discovering the background to the story of Elenor Lovelace and each time a new piece of information was revealed and the story be completed another exciting little tit bit would emerge to continue and spark my intrigue again.
The storyline does touch on loss and grief and the way it can affect people in different ways but it is by no means a depressing novel it is full of hope, healing and new beginnings. Little Brodie in particular touched my heart and even I was grinning like a Cheshire cat towards the end when her healing process took a step in the right direction.
The friendships and community feel in this novel really gave the book a welcoming and uplifting feel and although I read this book as a whole I can imagine those who read it in the four parts felt like being reunited with old friends each time. It did feel a little drawn out, like it could have been a little shorter but I think this probably worked well for the individual parts and only had a little effect when put together as a complete book but I still enjoyed this book thoroughly none the less.
The romance was a little predictable but also faced realistic bumps along the way so this didn’t affect my enjoyment of the novel especially when there were other things going on around the romance element to keep you intrigued.
Holly Hepburn has kicked the year off with a book of discovery, healing and romance that I definitely recommend.
A delightfully gentle romance with lots of heart warming elements. There are a few some dramas and a baddie to balance the mix amongst a wonderfully drawn set of believable characters. Set in York, it evokes the city well and the sense of community therein. Poignant and emotional in part but also uplifting with several strands to the plot. I shall be looking out for other books by this author when I need a feelgood read, which we all do from time to time.
