I wanted to enjoy this story more as it had so much potential, but I just couldn't get in to it. This may be due to the author's writing style, as it is a very interesting premise.

That is until she's accused of murdering her Aunt Charlotte. With her two bestfriends by her side, Maven, a vampire and the only niece of the reigning King and Alek, a powerful warlock descended from those who created the veil between them and the humans, Sariyah decides the only way to clear her name is to run away and find the one who actually killed her Aunt. If only it were that simple. Not when the Royal Guard and their Captain, Sai's ex-boyfriend, is hunting them down. She'll do whatever it takes to find them, but in order to do that she'll need to go to places she's never gone before and ask questions she never knew she needed answers to. But not all answers lead to a resolution, some just lead to more to questions. And when secrets come to light and prophecies are revealed, there will be no where left for her to run.

I actually liked the book. It's different from many of the others I've read. This is a life isn't all roses and sunshine kind of book. I love the action and the backstories of the other characters. It was enjoyable and the twists were great! I look forward to Book 2. The only issue I had with the story was that it went a little fast since its a shorter book, the second is even though it looks like it's from different POV's it's Sai's version that is in first person every other part speaks in the third person. Other than that I do recommend the book because it's a good story. Don't forget to check out the author.

This is a beautiful new adult fantasy book, firstly the front cover is beautiful but the story was great, loved the cliff hanger but I also felt a little like there was something between me and the book this could be my own experience or the style doesn't mesh with me but I didn't feel immersed in this book.

Sadly, I had to DNF this book. I couldn't dive in the story the way I wanted it. Not a book for me but I still will recommend it to you if it's something that might interest you

The characters and plot were fun and unique. I enjoyed reading their story and wanted to know more.

The pacing seemed off while reading this; some parts felt slow, and others felt a little rushed. I also wanted to see more world building and character development. Hopefully, that's all to come in the next book, which I'm excited about.

Overall, I did enjoy Inferno, though, like I mentioned, the pacing did pull me out of the story a bit. I love the diversity and the premise of how the shifters, vampires, and witches all got their powers. I can't wait to read the next in the series and see where everything goes.

Inferno is a story about a princess trying to solve the mystery of her aunt's murder with her best friends. Though I thought the premise was interesting, I wasn't a huge fan of the story. I didn't love the writing style (the dialogue felt a little unnatural to me, the tenses switched back and forth, etc.). I also thought that the POVs were a little misleading, because even if you were in one person's POV you would be able to hear other's thoughts and feelings, which was disorienting.

I also didn’t think a lot of the events made a lot of sense - for instance, for best friends they sure did manage to keep a lot of life-altering secrets from each other. I also thought the book would have been a lot stronger if the secrets that were kept managed to inform certain personality traits, but they seemed to add no depth to the characters. I also thought a lot of the emotional reactions of the characters were a little odd - the main character especially seems to trust every piece of new information thrown at her with no questions asked.

There were a few very small, picky things that were in this book that I don't like in books in general. For instance, in one of the conversations in this book between the main character and her romantic interest, the main character puts down another woman (despite this woman having no discernible malicious intent).

Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of this novel. I'd give it one and a half stars.

Normally I would be all over this book. Loved the premise, characters were strong but no worldbuilding. The book felt really rushed and definitely needed better dialog interaction with everyone. This book is a paranormal fantasy story following Sariyah, Princess of the shifter court. She is on the run because her Aunt, the Queen, was recently murdered and she is the prime suspect. She is in hiding trying to prove her innocence along with her friends Alek, a warlock, and Maven, a vampire. Her ex-boyfriend is captain of the royal guard sent to hunt her down, which adds a dash of romance to the story too.

I enjoyed a lot about this book. The story and world were very intriguing. She combines paranormal fantasy, vampires/werewolves and a murder mystery all in this fairly short book. The plot moves at a fast pace so there is always something going on to capture your attention. The author throws in quite a few twists as well to keep you guessing. The world is full of interesting elements and history I was curious to learn more about. The characters had good chemistry together as well and I really enjoyed the scenes with them all together.

As I was reading I found myself really just wanting more. More time with the characters to feel like I really got to know them. They all have great potential but could use more fleshing out. More time to absorb all the world dynamics, which are quite detailed, so I could really feel like I understood them well. Some points are explained well but others I felt were brushed over too fast. It’s a short book as mentioned so maybe the author was going for more of a quick read, but some things just felt too rushed to me.

I would read more by this author for sure.

I genuinely wanted to love inferno, the concept was good, I enjoyed the synopsis and really liked the cover. However, there were issues that I couldn’t ignore. For one, I felt like the dialogue just didn’t fit the premise of the book at all. Also at times I felt like the book was rushed, and at other times the pacing was pretty slow. I found that few plot points were brushed over too easily as well. It didn’t deliver what it could’ve.

I’m a sucker for paranormal books, add romance in there and I’m done for. This book was a super fast read for me. The story flowed nicely and I didn’t get bored while reading. My library is full of paranormal readers where I will definitely recommend this.

On the hunt for the truth the trio traverse the realm in search of clues to who really murdered the Queen.

This was well written, well thought out and left open for a sequel!
