So, I started reading The Reunion first, but then TON hit my kindle and since it was a prequel I started it.

It was freaking AWESOME!! It gave me the nitty-gritty on Cooper and Nora and prepared me for The Reunion.

The One Night by Meghan Quinn is the story of Cooper and Nora.
Cooper is Nora's best friend ex husband. They happen to meet up and this leads to some hot and funny night. This was a hot and funny read.

I love Meghan's writing and this was fantastic, but I wish I had known beforehand this was a novella and prequal to her upcoming book!

I really enjoyed this prequel. It serves it’s purpose in making me want more. Can’t wait! Meghan Quinn knows how to pull you in with the humor and originality.

Apparently this is a prequel novella that sets up the next book in the series called The Reunion. It was an okay read until it ended abruptly.

WTAF was that?!! It’s the very definition of a book tease that’s what this is! I thought I was getting a whole novel but it’s not it’s an infuriating short story about Cooper and Nora and their one night of fun. He’s recently divorced and in a rut and she’s his ex wife’s best friend who is to busy to meet anyone worth her time. The thing that makes this infuriating is that it’s so good. And it ends on a massive cliffhanger! Argh! So annoying. It’s begging to be a full length book. I want a full length book. What the hell happens next? Inquiring minds want to know dammit!!

This is an amazing prequel to The Reunion releasing in Feb. 2022.

This novella is literally one night and it's perfect. It features Cooper, the middle child of the Chance family and his one night out when his parents come to visit him.

This novella is filled with the humor and family dynamics that Meghan is known for. It's well-rounded, even for a novella.

Definitely grabbed this one for a glimpse at what is in-store for us readers in the future.

I haven't had a miss so far with Meghan Quinn and The One Night is no different. This is a quick, fun, steamy novella that leaves you excited for The Reunion!

It's so rare that I'm giving a book a one star review despite having this book added in my reading list since late last year. So first, what made me add this book to my reading list was it's book cover. Admit it, every bookworm is easily attracted to a very nice book cover and will easily put it in their reading list without even reading the plot (sometimes). Second, of course, the book title. What could possibly happen in that 'one night?' Definitely, a lot. A lot of realizations too late to realize the effects and repercussions in a domino effect.

I apologize in advance to those who love this story but I just want to be straightforward, for me, the story has a slow character and plot development. The plot of the story is really dragging and boring.

Again, this is just my take on this story and it really does not appeal to me or even met my expectations, hence, my one star review.

I enjoyed this novella giving us insight in to Cooper and Nora's one night stand they had before meeting again a year later. It was a quick and an easy read! I enjoyed the humor in this novella having Cooper's parents being his wingmen was so hilarious. I definitely would recommend this novella to others.

This was a short hook-up novella with a cliffhanger. There were some cute and funny moments in this story but not sure I liked the premise of hooking up with your best friend's ex-husband. Or the whole "It's better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission" when you are deciding to hook up with your best friend's ex-husband. I will still read the next book to see how it ends.

Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake and Meghan Quinn for a copy of "The One Night" in exchange of an honest review.

Another excellent book from Meghan Quinn! I'm so excited to see what happens in The Reunion. Meghan is one of my favorite authors as she always writes witty and heartfelt novels and I recommend anyone who needs a pick me up to give her books a try! They are all an absolute must read!

I really liked this novella, I’m a big fan of Meghan Quinn. It’s a funny romcom about a recently divorced man named Cooper, whose parents decide to be his wingmen and find him a girl. Unfortunately, the girl they find, Nora, is off-limits because she’s his ex’s best friend.
They hit it off immediately and now they need to figure out what to do. The book ends there, to be continued in The Reunion, which comes out on 2/22/22.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

First off let me be clear this is a novella. I wasn't aware of that when I downloaded it and it truly didn't stop me from enjoying it, but its not a full fledged novel. Now that that parts out of the way...

Id recommend reading The Reunion before picking this one up. Its able to be read as a stand alone, but is just so much better if you have the full picture first. This is just the story of Cooper and Nora. Specifically the night they met. In The Reunion were made aware they have a back story, but its semi vague to what actually transpired. This is the full story.

Still floundering after his divorce, Coopers parents take him out for a night on the town and play his wingman. What no one anticipates is Nora will be the one he ends up going home with. His ex wife's best friend, he truly couldn't have picked anyone who was more unavailable than her. After reading The Reunion you'll find out how their story ends, but this is a nice companion piece that wraps their history up nicely. This was truly a quick, hot, and heavy little read thats written in the usual witty style of Meghan Quinn. I adore all of her books and this is truly no exception!

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This is a 5 star novella! I am not a big novella fan, but I am a huge Meghan Quinn fan, follow her on instagram kind of a fan. She does so much in this short length that I honestly didn't feel like I was missing much. This and The Reunion are both knockouts.

I didn't realize that this was a novella when I first downloaded it, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it! I really enjoyed Cooper and Nora's fun, flirty banter and wanted more of them! I also LOVED Martin and Peggy - they were so much fun and I also really liked seeing their relationship with Cooper! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of all of these characters and meeting the other 2 siblings in The Reunion!

Thank you NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for an eARC copy of The One Night by Meghan Quinn.

This is the novella which precursors Copper and Nora’s story from The Reunion! While you don’t have to read this before The Reunion, I wish I had because I. Love. Their. Story! What you read of their story hear evolves so well & hilariously in The Reunion!

Okay so, Copper is your typical grumpy man, just recently divorced. And his parents are taking him on a bar crawl! And when he runs into Nora, his ex-wife’s best friend (!!!), they have fun flirting allllll night.

4/5 - this was a cute short story to elaborate on the night for Cooper & Nora. I personally didn’t think he got enough attention in The Reunion, and his personality was so entertaining throughout this story! Definitely enjoyable and a good ending to role into The Reunion!

*This book is also available free on Kindle Unlimoted (as of this review) and it includes free access to the Audible book version!

I finally dipped my toe into the world of Meghan Quinn with her novella, The One Night. This was a super quick and steamy read where we’re introduced to childhood friends Cooper and Nora. Cooper is Nora’s best friend’s ex-husband that she runs into Cooper at a local dive bar when Cooper’s parents drag him out there to help him get back into the dating scene since his divorce a year earlier.

Each protagonist has their own set of unique characteristics and both face a moral dilemma when they find they are attracted to each other during this chance encounter. When they give into their temptations, they are forced to realize their repercussions.

This is the prequel to Quinn’s upcoming novel The Reunion releasing on February 22 where Cooper’s family is the main focus and one I look forward to diving into what promises to be a fun and wild ride.

I wasn't expecting this to be a novella, so the pacing and narrative arc caught me off-guard. That said, this was a fun, light-hearted look at a life-changing night. I'm looking forward to getting a deeper look into these characters' lives (I believe the story will be continued in Meghan Quinn's upcoming The Reunion).
