This is an amazing feel-good audiobook. Set in England briefly, but mostly in Finland, it follows the fall from Grace of Lucy Fairweather and the online social media campaign to discredit her. Lucy has to adjust to subzero temperatures whilst negotiating a new lifestyle in the arctic. No spoilers here., but I loved this book. I have twice been to Finland and so this book resonated well with me.

Brilliantly narrated and full of Finnish detail and insights into Finnish culture and attitudes. Great laughs out loud, and shouting reminders to Lucy about minding the arctic conditions from me.
Just wonderful.
Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

I really loved this book- it was so nice to read a book that just flows. It’s such an easy read and as I listened to this as an audio book the narrator really helped to bring this story to life. The setting was perfect and the characters very likeable. The added bonus of the northern lights was really special. I really enjoyed learning about the new culture and routines in such a different country.

Lucy Fairweather, a morning radio show presenter, is hated after an edited clip of her goes viral. Her worried friend Skye suggests she gets away while things calm down. So she goes to Finland where its dark, cold and in the middle of nowhere, everything she hates.

I really enjoyed this fun, perfect escape read. I found it quite funny in places and enjoyed the journey she found herself on and the challenges she faced. Great read. I loved it

When a cleverly edited video of radio host Lucy Fairweather goes viral, she knows she needs an escape. And preferably somewhere far away.

Where better than Wild Zone – a destination for people who want to experience the Arctic Circle? Owned by the gorgeous but brooding Tommi, Lucy agrees to help with the guests in return for her stay. But getting to grips with her skis is proving harder than it looks. The narration has good pace and flow, and the narrators voices seemed right for the characters they were portraying.

Lucy Fairweather, Radio DJ, Party Animal, and her life is a bit of a mess - even if she doesn't admit it herself.

Some fake bad publicity hits the headlines and Lucy goes to her friends brothers adventure retreat in Finland to hide away and help Tommy.

The retreat helps Lucy come to terms with what's happened, straighten her thoughts out about life but can she get to the bottom of her fake publicity?

The narrator is lovely, great at delivering all of Lucys thoughts and moods - and there are a lot of them!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the audio ARC of this book.

Meet Me Under the Northern Lights - Emily Kerr

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

All it takes is one moment to change your life . . .

This was a magical book with the ability to instantly transport me to Finland. This is an enjoyable book as we join Lucy on her journey of self discovery. Whilst it contains some delicate topics, it was written in a light-hearted way and a perfect escape for the holiday season.

My thanks to HarperCollins U.K. Audio One More Chapter for an unabridged audiobook edition, via NetGalley, of ‘Meet Me Under the Northern Lights’ by Emily Kerr in exchange for an honest review. The audiobook was narrated by Catrin Walker-Booth.

This winter-themed novel proved a delight. It is witty and charming with a love affair at its heart that I felt developed in a natural way. I class it as a comedy-drama as there are some serious themes; though I felt that these were well integrated into the overall narrative.

Its lead is Lucy Fairweather, the host of a popularsyndicated breakfast radio show. She enjoys her work even if it means waking up at stupid-o’clock. Yet this particular morning she is confronted by news that a cleverly edited video of her partying at a pub has gone viral. The trolls are out in force and the tabloid press is hounding her.

Given the chaos, Lucy yearns to escape somewhere far, far away. Her best friend’s husband is Finnish and his brother, the handsome and broody Tommi, has just opened the Wild Zone - an adventure centre deep in the woods for folk wanting an experience of the Artic Circle. Tommi agrees to let Lucy stay in return for helping out with the guests.

It seems a perfect temporary solution. Yet while the Wild Zone may be a winter wonderland, Lucy is completely unprepared for the extreme cold, the ice, snow shoes and skis. It proves a steep learning curve. Will an encounter with the breathtaking Northern Lights change her luck, in both life and love?

At times I was frustrated with Lucy as she could be her own worst enemy, though ultimately I was rooting for her, especially her quest to uncover the source of the viral smear campaign. I also felt that Emily Kerr did a great job of portraying Finnish culture and the sense of community that Lucy discovers in Finland.

With respect to the audiobook, it was my first experience of Catrin Walker-Booth as a narrator. I found her voice light and rich, a pleasure to listen to.

Overall, a lovely winter-themed romantic comedy-drama that was entertaining and uplifting. I am certain that it will prove popular over a wide readership.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

What a wonderful book - it felt perfectly apt for this time of year. One of the messages of the novel hit slightly too close to home for what I was expecting, so I felt more strongly connected to these characters. I fell in love with Lucy, Tommy, Rudi and Johanna, and the descriptions of the Finnish wilderness felt as though I was there with them.

The narrator brought the story to life, and (aside for some less than perfect accents) was a wonderful selection for this audiobook.

Thank you to Emily Kerr, Netgalley and the publisher for this audiobook in return for a review.

This audiobook begins with Lucy who is a radio star presenter who has to escape the country urgently as a video has been falsely made of her and has been circulated. Lucy finds herself in a Finnish town thanks to the help of close friends and there she meets Tommi, who in return for her help in running the camp, agrees to help her. Poor Lucy has had quite a traumatic time and this is dealt with in the book. The author gives some lovely descriptions of Finland and I was able to immerse myself into this wonderful atmospheric sounding place. I also thought the front cover of this book is really eye catching and I loved it! I enjoyed the narration from Catrin Walker -Booth who brought this story to life! My thanks to Harper Collins and to Netgalley for a chance to read this book.
