If superhero books get any younger in their target audience they might as well not have any plot whatsoever. This is still a wonderful experience for the young reader, however, deftly introducing a host of powered animals as well as leading us through the first adventure in this series, a drama resulting from all the food in town – including the catering for a grand mayoral thingy – going missing. No we never know how it was done, nor why the heroes had their breakfast half-inched as well, but at least we saw good prevail. Or did we...? Of course we flipping did, this is for under-sixes. And it's lively and convivial and they'll love their time with it.
