Enjoyed reading this book about a woman who had a second chance in life and changes the outlook of her former boss and his niece. West was angry when he received Elle's last article and her resignation. This sets off a chain of events, new assignment that takes her inside his world and sees a different side of him, As they spend time together they both evolve and fall in love, Somewhat emotional read. Engaging and recommended read.

I honestly think this is Winter Renshaw's best book to date. Elle is a journalist and has a brush with death. She decides to change her life drastically. Elle is not fond of her boss finding him arrogant but also very attractive. There is a complexity to West that he does not show to other people. He might be well off but he values his privacy. This author really shows the depth and emotions in both of her main characters. Some of topics included in this story ae sensitive but the author does a great of articulating them. There is a lot of the feels in this story but it all comes with a wonderful HEA ending. Please don't miss this book!

A brilliant romance. The gradual reveal of the main characters and their back stories was very well done. The understanding of a hurt teenager was particularly well done. All the threads seemed to come together in a way that had you racing on to the next chapter. A definite recommend read

As a first-time reader of Ms. Renshaw, I found her writing style enjoyable. I was pulled right into the story and stayed engaged throughout. I liked Elle and Scarlett, and I even grew to like West (I like a grumpy hero, but this dude started out obnoxiously rude). I will admit, however, that I just didn't feel quite the connection between Elle and West that I wanted to feel. The spark didn't jump off the page. And for that reason, it took me a hot minute to buy the depth of their feelings for one another. I did enjoy the climax and resolution; I thought it was very well done. Overall, I found this book to be entertaining and would definitely like to read more by this author.

This is a great book. The two main characters are Elle and West. Elle works at the magazine that West owns. Elle has just returned to work after suffering a brain aneurysm, she has a life changing decision to quit her job so she does it. West has custody of his niece so he ask Elle to be a mentor to her. Elle says she will but without pay. Elle gets to know West with her visits with his niece. There is an attraction between them. They have some issues but figured them out and fall in love.

Winter Renshaw is an author I have come to really enjoy and The Dirty Truth was no exception - however, this was a sloooooow burn with barely any spice (which stinks, but this is a traditionally published book so I guess that’s why?). I also would have loved to actually feel the emotional connection between Elle & West. All in all, this was a solid read. 3.5 stars

I have no words to describe my love for The Dirty Truth. It’s been forever since I’ve read a book by Winter and I’m not even sure why, but this is by far my favorite one.

Elle is a journalist who has recently been through an extremely traumatic event, which makes her rethink a lot of things in her life. West is her uptight, controlling, mystery of a boss/owner of the magazine she works at. That is, until she quits because he pushes her too far and makes her realize she doesn’t want to work there anymore—her heart is no longer in it. And then the fun begins!

I loved learning about both characters. The way Elle was so easy to open up about things. And how it took until almost the very end to finally break down all of West’s walls. It was like pulling teeth! But with each new layer Elle knocked down, you learn so much about who West was and that he isn’t as bad as you/she originally thought.

They’re chemistry was amazing and I loved their relationship. It wasn’t a closed door sex scene kind of romance, but it also wasn’t steamy/descriptive. BUT it worked for the novel. It didn’t need anything more and I think it would take away from the story and all of the emotions involved.

I can’t remember the last time I pulled an all-nighter reading a book, I’m completely shattered, but got to say it was well worth it. Winter Renshaw is a new to me author, and she most definitely wowed me. From ‘that’ cover (let me tell you, he is the perfect West Maxwell), to the story, to the writing, to the characters. It was totally my perfect read. When you know, you know, and from that first page I knew I would love this story, and I knew I would love Elle Napier. She was real, she was so so likeable, and she was fun. In fact she was everything that West wasn’t, which was why they worked. She didn’t take his a$$holeness, she didn’t pretend she was something she wasn’t, and she treated his niece with the respect and compassion she deserved. A perfect romance to get lost in, I didn’t want it to end (but I really did need to get some sleep).

This book was a good hate-to-love romance. Elle was working on impulse and instead of turning in just a writing for her column, she turned in a writing for her column that explained all how West Maxwell wasn’t the perfect billionaire bachelor everybody thought he was… only maybe she was wrong. After a run in wish her now ex-bosses niece, she finds herself agreeing to mentor her, forcing Elle to get closer with the man she hates. After seeing a different side to each other, their relationship takes off… with a few bumps in the road.
This book kept me engaged and wondering what the next bickering match would be over between our two mcs. I’d recommend this to anybody who enjoys a good billionaire romance.

I really struggled to get into this so after a bit I had to stop reading it and move onto something else unfortunately

Elle is a journalist who has her own column in a magazine, and she has had enough of her boss West, so she resigns, only for him to offer her a new position to mentor his 14-year-old niece, Scarlett. Scarlett is acting out due to her insecurity’s and is giving her uncle a run for his money. Elle finds out that West has a huge heart behind the cold façade he presents to the world. This is a beautifully written story which is an enemies / lovers’ story, which is endearing, and filled with emotions, secrets, loss, grief, turmoil, guilt, regret, and love, which leads to an entertaining and moving addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I always highly recommend.

Ah i lovved this book so much even if it's the cliche trope. Reading this book tugged the hopeless romantic in me. And I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next read

I absolutely loved this book. It had a realistic slow burn for the love story but what made me love it the most was Elle's realistic reaction to her brush with death. Her brush with death made her realize what was important and what makes her happy in life and what wasn't. Especially what the world has been going through the last few years, the idea of being miserable is not one that most people want to deal with anymore. Life is short and we should be doing whatever we can to make sure we are living and not just existing and that is what Elle does. Her unorthodox friendship with West leads him to see what is worth living life is for.
Once again, Winter Renshaw has delivered a touching and beautiful story.

This is the first book I've read by Winter Renshaw and I've already started to put a couple of her other books on my TBR. I really liked the low angst but emotional nature of this book. Elle is a newspaper columnist who works for West who is a really mean boss. You know those ones that instill fear in their worker-bees? Yeah, that's him. Elle survived death (an aneurysm and she died for 3 minutes) which changed her whole perspective regarding what is worth living for. It actually has an interesting timeliness given what is happening in the world today. She quits after an especially difficult interaction with West and then through some twist of fate, she meets West's niece, who is has guardianship of because her mother is awful and her father, West's brother, died during active duty.

I absolutely loved how the story unfolded but also, how pieces of both West and Elle's personality and hopes and fears were revealed slowly with each revelation. This story was done beautifully well and was very poignant and reminded the readers that we only have one life and we need to really live it!

After something traumatic happening to her, Elle rethinks her decision with working with Man Made magazine, especially after being late to a meeting with the boss, West Maxwell. However, little does she know that West needs her help after leaving her job, since he recently had his teenage niece move in with him and all she has done since she got there has gotten in trouble and missing school. Does Elle being a positive role model move into something happening between West and Elle or does she move on with life, forgetting how much her boss was a jerk to her.

This book was the first book that I have read by Winter Renshaw. This romance was witty, charming and an emotional read. Because it started in the main characters place of employment, I would consider this an office romance. Seeing the character development between each character was well done and I am looking forward to reading what other works Winter Renshaw has done. Definitely recommend to those that love contemporary, office romance.

I found this book to be real and honest. I probably wouldn't even classify it as a rom com, due to the seriousness of Elle's experiences and West's past. The romance didn't really come into play until the end which was a surprise. It was easy to read, and as characters, I liked Elle and West's niece the most.

This enemies to lovers romance is absolutely adorable. Elle is a plucky, talented writer who quits working for West Maxwell, an influencer turned media mogul boss via email. It’s their first true interaction, and it makes such an impression that West asks her to spend the summer mentoring his teenage neice. Their relationship evolves as does Elle’s friendship with young Scarlett.

Sound like a perfect family? Well, I think so, too.
