First time trying a Lauren Layne book and I wasn't disappointed infact I devoured this in one sitting and didn't put it down untill 1am. I enjoyed how easily the story flowed and the undeniable chemistry between the 2 main characters. I love the grumpy sunshine trope and thought this was done really well. Cain was quite harsh at times and although Violet is a people pleaser she stood her ground against him. I was throughly gripped and didn't want to put this down. I loved the slow burn and the end pulled the story together really well. I was constantly wondering where it was going to end and I was pleasantly surprised that the story took the turn it did at the end to stop it from being predictable. I will definitely be interested in trying more from this author in the future.

Made in Manhattan is Lauren Layne’s latest romance set in New York. The story follows Violet and Caine, as Violet is tasked with readying Caine for Upper East Side societal expectations.
Violet narrates throughout so we don’t always know what Caine is thinking but you can guess with his brooding, moody and sometimes sullen comments. Violet is transforming him in a sort of opposite Pretty Woman way, making him suitable to take over his grandmother’s business.
Violet and Caine are pretty much at odds straight away. They each have preconceptions of the other which makes for some interesting and sometimes downright rude interactions! However, both characters help to develop the other throughout this story and the chemistry is unmistakable from the beginning .
This is an enemies to lovers, opposites attract romance. I really enjoyed Lauren’s Oxford series last year and this was just as good.

At first I thought I was not going to like this because we are given two very stereotypical characters set in a stereotypical New York upper East side society. But the chemistry between Violet and Caine was undeniably sexy and I could not put this down.
I loved the scenes in New Orleans and yes it may not be the most original story but it was an easy read with a great love story and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Made in Manhattan is a signature Lauren Layne book with cute New York vibes, witty dialogue and brilliant chemistry between the two main characters.
While I liked both main characters on the whole, there were a few moments where I wanted/expected more from them. Violet was such a warm and lovely character but we have to get a lot further into the story before we start seeing anything beyond the superficial with her. That being said, I like how her character developed through the story and the balance between fierce and vulnerable was pretty good.
Cain makes a cute hero, though he does have some serious anti hero moments. He can be blunt to the point of cruel and this carries on through most of the book, though I do think that if the reader had his point of view, it might have changed that particular vibe. The whole book is from Violet's perspective so we never actually know what's going on in Cain's head unless he says it.
I enjoyed this book and it was an easy read with great pacing. The secondary characters were good and as is usual with a Lauren Layne book, there was some great dialogue and banter.

My heart, I’m obsessed with Made in Manhattan. This book is quite possibly one of the best romcoms I’ve ever read!
I binged this book in a day, I physically couldn’t stop reading it. I love a romance and this ticked pretty much every box for me.
The storyline was fun yet believable and written well. The characters are everything I wanted and more.
Violet thought she knew what she wanted, but then her life is thrown upside down when she’s given a project in the shape of a gruff, rugged man called Cain…
I laughed an awful lot and gasped a few times too. The romance is steamy and goes at the right pace. I felt like I was falling in love with them along the way.
I can’t recommend this book enough - definitely one of my new favourites.

A Crowd pleasing five-star read. I would love to visit the setting of this story, be a fly on the wall of a gala that Violet attends, watch her watch Cain, post and pre the ripped jeans. There was so much about this story that would wow you, and so much that kept me hooked. I absolutely adored the story and was whisked away as I read. As always Lauren Layne swept me into the story and made me part of the story.

I wanted a quick, easy read so I picked this up and I wasnt disappointed, this was such a good read. It was fun, flirty, steamy and funny, I was gripped from the start to finish and I couldnt put it down. I read it so quick, I really enjoyed it.

**Many thanks to NetGalley, Gallery, and Lauren Layne for an ARC of this book! Here’s my thoughts**

Lauren Layne is the queen of rom-coms - and with good reason. MADE IN MANHATTAN is a delightful story with a spin on the classic “My fair lady” set in the world of ruthless corporate NYC.
Violet reminded me of Charlotte of SATC (and I will love that woman forever with all my heart). Cain is the perfect mix of grumpy and yet soft, and their chemistry is explosive. Oh, the tension, the steam! EXCUSE ME WHILE I SWOON!
In a nutshell: MADE IN MANHATTAN was all I look for in a rom-com: it was sweet, steamy and funny, and left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I adore Ms Layne and everything she writes - and I hope you too will give this book a chance.

Violet is supposed to be turning Cain in to someone suitable to take over his grandmother's company, even if he doesn't like it. But the more time they spend together, the more she realises that she likes him the way he is.
A great read.
