This was a cute manga about a girl and her "dog". The art style was beautiful but it was a bit forgettable. I would consider reading more by this author in the future but I won't be continuing the series.

I enjoyed this story with all of the characters within. The main characters were a young lady and a stray dog.

One day while walking in the rain a young lady finds dog like creature in a box. She decided to take him home with her. After that she decides to keep him. She finds out that the dog has some talent he can write words on paper. She is first quite surprised by it.

This was a fun story to read. It had action and adventure throughout. It had a few giggles within. This is the first volume in a series. The illustration want along with the story quite well.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

“With You and the Rain” by Ko Nikaido is a cute slice of life that gives off a nice cozy feeling to the reader. The art in it is beautifully drawn and the characters are very cute and likeable. This manga is perfect to sit down and read during a nice relaxing rainy day.

I was immediately drawn to "With You and the Rain" due to the cozy and cute vibes from the art style.

A young and somewhat oblivious woman finds what she believes to be a stray dog... and adopts it.

It's clearly not a dog, but he acts in the exact same way a pet dog would so... it must be a 'dog', right?

This is a slice of life collection of moments throughout a Summer for her and her 'dog', funny and endearing throughout.

The art style is super sweet and captivating, which really made me get all the cozy vibes and I had a good time reading this. I'm only a little sad it's not in full colour, because that would have been stunning!

I can't wait to read the next 3 volumes, since clearly each one takes place during a season of the year.

This is so adorable! It follows a girl who meets what seems like a dog, they make a pact and he ends up being her "pet". It's much like a slice of life piece with comedy. It's very cute!

This was a very cute & easy read with beautiful artwork. It shows the beautiful relationship between animals and people (even if the pet is definitely is not a dog or cat lol).

I was immediately drawn to With You and the Rain Vol. 1, as the art style, subject, and title all seemed endearing and cute. You guys know how much of a sucker I am for emotional manga reads!

How does the saying go? "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck." Well, that may be true now and then, but sometimes that duck is a goose. Err... we should probably take a few steps back here.

A woman comes across a strange little creature and decides it is a stray dog that needs rescuing. Despite all signs to the contrary, she continues to believe that this cutie is a dog. What follows is a strange and humorous series of events.

Okay, so the core concept for With You and the Rain Vol. 1 is actually really cute and funny. An oblivious woman owning a pet that is very much not a dog – hilarious, right? And for the most part, it is.

With You and the Rain Vol. 1 is mostly a collection of short stories based on this foundation. There are lots of little vignettes and interactions, none of which are really connected to each other. While entertaining, it made for a rather shallow read. There was so much potential here, and we barely scraped the surface.

I still think With You and the Rain Vol. 1 is worth reading, especially if you enjoy the art style or sense of humor.

It's not a dog. That's not a problem, because it's incredibly cute. This is one of those mangas in that very distinct genre of something cute that tends to be much smarter than the humans surrounding it, with the lightest of stories to accompany them.

The long and the short of it: face-shatteringly cute, and beautifully drawn.

This was so adorable and gentle and gave me such lovely vibes! I really enjoyed reading this and, despite my efforts to savour it, ended up gobbling it all up in one sitting. The art is gorgeous, the tanuki adorable, what is there not to love? This one is really a gentle sort of... fantasy-type slice of life, and I hope I get to read the other books in the series!

A young woman who lives alone finds a tanuki, mistakes him for a stray dog, and takes him home. This was cute but not really anything else? I guess if you're really into slice of life and cutesy animal stories it would be fun. I don't think it's aimed at children but there wasn't anything that would be *in*appropriate for children, either.

Thank you Netgalley for sending me an ARC of this work.

With you and the rain starts with our main protagonist, who brings home a “dog” who is very suspiciously trying to convince even themselves that they are in fact, a dog of some kind. We follow some adventures and scenarios of them two together.

The story is cute but also quite simple, a slice of life type of plot which can be very refreshing to a busy mind. The drawing style is absolutely adorable and the palette of colour is beautiful.

(ENGLISH REVIEW BELOW)

ENGLISH REVIEW

This is the first volume of a slice of life manga, which convinced me little.

BLURB:
If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog and insists it's a dog, it's...a dog? Probably? She adopted it anyway, and her life with this "dog" will never be boring!
¤
In this new series, the mangaka will tell us the story of our protagonist and her "dog", which she has just adopted. The boards are drawn in the form of slices of life and we see our 2 protagonists evolve. We don't know their names. All we know is that even though he looks like a dog, he's not quite a dog.
I really like the idea that the mangaka explores Japanese folklore to add a fantastic touch to her story.
Unfortunately, even if the drawing style is soft and I found the drawings cute, I didn't really get hooked on the story because we only follow small slices of life vignettes and it was not happening much to my liking. It's a light read but I got bored in the end.

This manga follows a woman who brings a dog home (except it’s almost definitely not a dog). This was a slice of life that follows some small adventures she has with the new pet.

I loved this manga. It was so simple and wholesome, and sometimes that’s exactly the type of read you need. It made my heart full, and put a smile on my face.

I also really enjoyed the art style of this one!

rating: 4/5 stars

This precious manga absolutely warmed my heart! A collection of vignettes follows a young woman as she discovers a "dog" who can write and brings him home. The small stories follow their summer together and I absolutely loved every page of this. It was cute, wholesome, and a perfect read. I can't wait to read the second volume!

This book has a vague over-arcing theme but not a strong plot. It's basically a series of scenes all on the same "whait-if" scenario. That makes it a pleasant, calm read. The stakes are low so we can just appreciate each scene on it's own.

With You and the Rain is the story of a dog, well maybe a dog. She adopted this animal who keeps insisting it is a dog. Though it is a dog that looks exactly like a tanuki. One of the cutest manga I have read. Even on page 1 I was hooked on the art. I need more of this series in my life I could not stop laughing at the first vet visit.

Enjoyable but didn't stand out too much. If I find more in the series I'll check it out but it's not wort searching.

This manga was actually really cute, it was drawn very nicely. It didn't have any plot, but it was cheerful, cute and can really make you smile.

It was just a simple, short story about a woman and a racoon as her pet, that she actually thought was ahem.... a dog. Story was more of a daily live and few small "adventures" she had with her pet.

I mostly love mangas that include mostly romance or has plot and action, but this manga was just a short, quick read. It's really worth to just look at the artwork.

Thanks to Kodansha and Net Galley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nice and charming slice of life story about a woman and her pet tanuki (raccoon dog).
The story s divided into a lot of short chapters with a new scenario.in each.
Cute and fluffy and quick to read.

An adorably illustrated manga with very little story. If you are looking for plot look elsewhere, if you want cute animal pictures this is for you. This is a book to pass the time and cheer yourself up. There is no depth to the project but depth is not always what one is looking for. The story is about a woman adopting a tanuki that she thinks is a dog. Everything from there is basically a way to show just how kawaii the tanuki is. It worked for me. This a feel good book, the equivalent of looking up cute cat or dog pictures except it is illustrations of a tanuki.
