Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this in exchange for an honest review
This was so quick and easy to read. I found myself fighting tiredness in bed to get to the next chapter.
What I came to realise is most of the ‘reveals’ and scenes I didnt really care about. A lot more family drama that thrilling scenes. Don’t get me wrong the bigger reveal at the end I didn’t see coming at all that was great
An okay pass-time suspense thriller. I’ve read most of this duo of writers’ work and enjoyed their books even they can be a bit of a hit or miss for me. Sadly this one was a miss. I found the plot line to be convoluted - Avery’s therapy methods were bonkers, behaving like a detective. Exactly how does she use her unorthodox method to help her clients wasn’t always established. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief at times. It took a long while for the actual threat/thriller element to emerge. The writing was also very pedestrian here with way too much details on the small, domestic things especially Marissa’s narrative. I felt the book could’ve been shorter and more snappier. Nonetheless I will look forward to the author’s future work.
An easy read if not a little far fetched. It did keep me guessing though and there were a few twists I did not see coming.
This book is well written and is fast paced. It is filled with many twists and turns. The ending was so obvious and lazy.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the authors for the opportunity to read this ARC (albeit slightly delayed) in exchange for an open and honest review.
I haven’t read any titles by this duo before - and whilst I’m not put off from reading others, I won’t be going looking for their books either. I disliked all the main characters, Mellisa, Matthew and Avery. Polly was ok but her involvement felt somewhat pointless. I know she was there to create down and help fill holes but….it just felt like everything dragged. A lot.
It was probably the final four chapters where I finally thought there was pace and something happened. A couple of the characters grew and developed which if it had built like this throughout then it probably wouldn’t have been too bad.
Overall, I was originally on a 2 star but the end helped bumped it up to 3 for me.
Mathew and Marissa appear to have the perfect marriage until Marissa is unfaithful and she wants to tell Mathew about her infidelity. They find themselves seeking out the help of Avery, a former therapist who lost her license for her unconventional practises. All the couple have to do is attend ten sessions with Avery and all will be fixed!!
As their session begins these three are unknowingly on a collision course, as deeply buried secrets come to light.
A riveting thriller that left me not knowing who to trust, as secrets, lies and suspicions kept me glued to this book.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve read a few of the author(s) books but I found this one hardest to get into, I couldn’t get into the characters. I found the story to be predictable but I’m not put off reading more from the author (s).
I could not get into this book, ultimately it was not form me and I could not finish it. It may be one for other readers
Great twists and turns with plenty of red herrings thrown in too! I really enjoyed this book. Highly recommended by me!
This book was great entertainment with some shocking twists.
Thanks for NetGalley and PanMacmillan for a review copy.
After seeing such fab reviews from past books by this duo, I was very keen to sign up to this book tour. I'm so pleased I did. This one is another one that throws you straight into the deep end. And the twists were amazing. It amazes me how authors think of such brilliant twists. This is another one of those book were you're too afraid to look away incase you miss something. An amazing read. Grab yourself a copy, it's so worth it. Brilliant.
The book was good but did not meet my expectation . The book had slow pace and the ending felt predictable .
This was a complete miss.
I was so excited to read this book, it being one of my most anticipated releases of 2022, and I was interested in reading more from these authors since the other 2 novels I’ve tried were just fine. And this one was bad.
We meet Matthew and Marissa (in my head I was just thinking about M&M, but okay), the golden couple. They seem to have it all: wealth, success, happiness, and beauty. Or so it seems. Well, come to find out, their marriage is in shambles, so Marissa surprises her husband with a marriage counseling session. She hires Avery, who promises to fix their relationship in ten sessions, but the fun part is that her methods are…unconventional? controversial? borderline creepy? All of the above!
Marissa has secrets, Matthew has secrets, Avery has secrets, and even the filler characters have secrets!
We also have some weird pharmaceutical dirty business, which was way more interesting than the main plot (and it wasn’t even that good)!
The characters, especially the couple, were insanely annoying, and the twists made me roll my eyes so far back I could see my neurons dying.
Not for me. Definitely in the minority here, and truthfully I wanted to like this so badly. It seemed like the perfect premise, a story filled with juicy, dirty secrets, but it missed the mark.

**many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for sending me an arc!!**
This book was so full of twists and turns, my head is still spinning! I enjoyed the book, especially after their previous book (Anonymous girl), and wasn't disappointed! Recommended.
I have enjoyed everything I have read by these authors and this was no different, a great storyline with twists along the way and it kept me gripped from start to finish
Thank you #netgalley and #panmacmillan for the chance to read this arc.
With their marriage in jeopardy, perfect couple Matthew and Marissa make the decision to see therapist Avery. Using radical methods, Avery promised to fix their marriage in just ten sessions.
As the sessions start, secrets from all sides start to surface, leading to a thrilling conclusion.
I really enjoyed this book. Lots of twists, turns and red herrings. No one is what they appear to be which I enjoyed. I also really liked the therapy sessions, they were so different.
A very interesting story with a fantastic ending.
I love these authors. This is another flawless and intriguing book which has really stolen my attention and kept me gripped.
I enjoyed this one, it was easy to read and held my attention. I will be reading more from this author :)
Slow burn thriller.
Took a few chapters to get me hooked but once I was there I had to keep reading.
The duel POV was a nice touch.
I’m sorry but could not finish this. I tried but it just didn’t grab me and I lost the will too keep trying :(
