A fun sweet read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
This book was awful. The multiple plot twists were just so unbelievable and stupid. It was very confusing to keep track of what was happening.
A fan of escapism. Interesting to see how those who really have it live. This was a 2.5 star read for me. While a solid read, it did something that I'm not a fan of. Interaction of real people with fictional characters and unfortunately, it wasn't done well. Other than that it was an solid read that provided hours of escapism. There were plenty of twists and turns, it was pulling it all together to a satisfying conclusion. Description of location was written well and contributed to my overall enjoyment.

This was a great mystery/thriller and I loved every twist and turn! I will definitely be reading more of Scardino in the future!
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was an enjoyable book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Amplify Publishing Group for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
ARC copy provided by NetGalley. This book had some really interesting twists and turns but I found it delightful and heartfelt. The need to feel loved and appreciated is a large part of this book and connects on a deep level.
I found A Tangled Affair to be a superb read. It was hard to put down and had me wondering what was going to happen next. The author's characters were well constructed and I really felt for Clair what with everything she was enduring. The undertones of close family and friendships were positives and I liked the denouement. This was about romance, murder, cheating, divorce and new starts and I can't wait to read more from Anne C. Scardino.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Amplify Publishing Group, Subplot Publishing via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
I liked this book except for one thing. It contained famous people (in this case Barack and Michelle Obama) interacting with a fictional character (Clair Bondi) , the protagonist of the story. Other than that, it was an engaging mystery with personable characters. I highly recommend this book to other mystery readers.
This is a good mystery story with a strong female character. The writing is good and it was easy to read. I liked travelling abroad with Clair and learning about the history between her and her ex-husband. I didn't guess who the killer was which kept the story intriguing.
While it took a few chapters for the action to get going, when it finally did, it just kept going. The book introduced a ton of side characters and then didn't follow up on a lot of them. I had quite a few unanswered questions when I got to the end of the book. The last chapter or two seemed more like wish fulfillment than it did the end of a book about the mystery of finding out who shot the woman's husband. I did read to the end and enjoyed most of the book, though I do wish it answered more of the questions that were brought up along the way.
This book had a very promising premise and I was excited to get started. However, there were way too many side stories to try and keep up with and many loose ends were never tied into the story as a whole. It was still an enjoyable read and a decent cozy mystery to read a rainy day away.
This book will make you think... Do I really know my husband and what he does when we are not together. This is a story of a married couple that was about to get a divorce until Vince, Clair's husband is found dead. Clair is about to realize who her husband really is.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance read.
This is a brilliant book I loved the characters the mystery they all had with each other. Great chemistry between characters. You feel as if you in the story with this Author. The writing style is amazing loved every page. If you like drama family mystery plot then this book is for you.
A Tangled Affair by Anne C. Scardino
Clair Bondi seems to have it all including a high-end design business, yet her marriage is failing and her husband Vince is becoming more distant. After Claire receives proof that Vince is having an affair, she decides that a divorce is the only solution. Before she can meet with an attorney, Vince is shot to death in his Porsche on his way home from his weekly tennis match.
This book is fast-paced and takes the reader from the suburbs of Philadelphia to the privileged world of the ultra rich in Turks and Caicos. I would have like the author to explore the characters, including the protagonist, more fully. The characters seemed superficial and the plot a bit frenetic. I wanted to like Claire but for me she fell flat and was not relatable. I do look forward to more books from the author. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.)

A Tangled Affair by Anne C. Scardino follows a married couple Clair and her husband Vince.
I think it started off strong and intriguing enough to allow me to keep reading. But, as the story goes on, I just felt like too much stuff was going on, in a row, too. Like in my opinion, “twists” and suspenseful points to a story should be spread out, and not just “bam, bam, bam” because to me, when it’s like that, it’s less interesting.
For example, in this story it was just constantly one thing after another (not mentioning exact details because I don’t do spoilers), but it was just to the point that everything seemed far-fetched.
I also felt that there were areas of the story that were repetitive as well, but in domestic storylines I feel like that sometimes tends to happen.
It’s overall a solid read and I would recommend it to maybe someone who hasn’t read in a little while, because it’s still entertaining. Like for me, I have been super busy and haven’t been reading much lately but I finished this book in less than 24 hours to catch back up.
Thank you NetGalley and Subplot Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my review.
Perhaps the plot was a little unrealistic, but I enjoyed reading this book anyways. Having decided to leave her husband, Clair is shocked when he is suddenly killed. As secrets come to light about Vince and his affairs (both extra-marital and business practices), Clair finds herself falling for a handsome banker in the Turks. As police investigate Vince's murder, Clair and her daughters seek to move forward with their lives.
Scardino’s writing is straightforward and conversational…a woman untangles the secrets of her marriage while discovering her true self. Gripping!
Thanks NetGalley for this e-arc !
My honest opinion was it wasn’t for me. Too much happening and it didn’t make sense to me. I wanted to dnf but I was really motivated to finish so I can review this fairly.
Synopsis: When Clair struggles to connect with her husband who is always working and making excuses for being gone a lot she decides that it is finally time for a divorce. But Clair never gets the Chance because he is murdered one night on his way supposedly to their home. Clair learns that she might not really know that much about her husband and what all he is involved in. She also learns that people are not always who they think you are.
Thought: I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down and had me wondering what was going to happen next. Up until the very end of the book I was intrigued. The author did a great job connecting you to the characters and really made you feel for Clair and everything she was going through. It also talked about some difficult things that only made me love Clair and her family even more. This was my first book to read from Anne C. Scardino and I cant wait to read more.
