This is a beautiful children's story with wonderful illustrations. It is important to remind children that they all have a special light inside that makes them special and this book does that perfectly. As I read this to my daughter her attention was held easily with the illustrations and message of the story.
I am grateful to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

This is a really sweet children's book which is about finding the light inside you. I enjoyed the illustrations and the story.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

LOVE the message in this story! And I love that the main character is not white. It’s wonderful to read a story that has diversity in it and a great message for children. Highly recommend!

A really beautiful concept of a shining light within all of us. This story is directed at young children to encourage them to believe in the power of self and being confident in their own abilities. It is a short read with a powerful message and is beautifully illustrated. #thelightwithin #krystaelynnesanders #netgalley

The light within by Krystaelynne Sanders.
Join our main character in their journey of learning what it means to have a light inside of you. Everyone is unique in their own ways, but we can all shine brightly. It’s a positive message that encourages children to get to know themselves and look deeper inside.
A lovely read. My kids loved it. 5*.

A touching, short story told in prose to remind every reader of how precious and special they are. A simple lesson in mindfulness and the power and simple beauty of love.

The Light Within is a beautiful and touching children's book. Its stunning illustrations capture the heart of what makes each of us unique and special. As an educator, I teach my young students about how each one of them has a "Love Light" inside. I cannot wait to have this book be a part of my classroom.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this advanced copy.
This book is absolutely precious. A young, non-white(!!) child learns about how his inner light shines. I absolutely love the animated illustrations and the relaxing cozy colors they chose. This is a great little picture book!

Cute little book, but not a great deal of plot or substance.
The illustrations were cute - just wish it had a bit more of an arc. i appreciate its a children's book, but I still feel that children's book should have a substance to them! Lets not underestimate our children readers.
Just OK.

Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
The illustrations in this book are the cutest thing and bring the message even more to life as it shows the demonstration of people telling children how they bring so much joy to the world and how they have a light that they cannot see but share with everyone around them by just being themselves and having an importance to the world by carrying this light. I loved every second of this book and I would consider buying this in a physical copy when officially released to gift to children i know.

This was such a sweet story and I loved the theme of the book
The illustrations in the book are lovely and they really suited the story.
It was well written and easy to follow, I read it with my daughter at bedtime and she enjoyed it from start to finish too – perfect match for her and she is right in the target age range for the book.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, gets it point over really well – very highly recommended!

I loved the art and the rhythm of the words, but I don't think I entirely got the message. Are kids supposed to be learning to do mediation? Will they understand this is a metaphorical light? My child at least was a little confused.

Oh, the illustrations are warm and delightful! They indeed light up the book while still being soft enough for a bedtime read. The story is about a little kid who tries to find the light within him. He listens to his heartbeat and lets the light seep out of him. It’s in his smile, and the more he smiles, the brighter he gets.
Some of the lines rhyme, but I didn’t pay attention to it. I read it more like prose than verse and that helped ignore the uneven meter. Grab this book for the illustrations. I’m sure kids will love them.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and BooksGoSocial and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Light Within is a lovely book that teaches kids and adults alike that we’re all unique and special.
I love the illustrations - they are lovely, colorful, and engaging. The message it delivers is remarkable and a perfect start to positive encouragement to children—a cute book to add to your children’s collection.

Oh this was so wonderful!
The artwork is so beautiful and the story is so lovely.
I adored that this book shows that light within.
This was just superb from start to finish!

what better way to teach a child to love themselves other than to develop the light within? This is a very beautiful book that invite kids to develop their own beautiful light and enjoy life.

Thank you for providing access to this eARC.
The illustrations where absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed the nice message of the story.

The Light Within follows a little boy whose mother tells him he's got a special light inside of him. He's never been able to see it until one day it starts to shine.
I loved this beautiful book. The message is positive and tells children that they each have something magical inside them, whatever that may be. The artwork is simply gorgeous! I loved the style so much. My favorite picture was the one of the boy hugging the star.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

Simply beautiful. All the pages were drawn "softly." I loved each one. The story itself teaches in a good way, although (as another reviewer commented) sometimes the sentence didn't flow to make the rhyme. But I found that to be a minor issue. After all, I grew up with Dr. Seuss. Overall, definitely the beautiful drawings.

3.5 stars. This would be a sweet bedtime book to share with a beloved caregiver. A young child is told that they have an inner light and goes looking to see if they can find it. The overall tone is soft and affirming, a great message to drift off to at night.
The text dips in and out of rhyme as it goes along, and sometimes word choice and meter are sacrificed to make lines rhyme. This does affect the flow while reading the story. The illustrations, however, are lovely. They're bright, lively, and truly adorable. This is definitely worth trying for a gentle, uplifting goodnight for small children.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
