The Strangeworlds Travel Agency: The Secrets of the Stormforest is a stunning finale to what has been an incredible trilogy.
Flick and Jonathan discover that the multiverse is in terrible danger from an organisation called the Seren. They have been trapped on Serentegra for years, but are now able to travel again. They travel to worlds and destroy them by consuming their magic, and they have an ultimate goal in mind: to hunt down the suitcase that contains the end of the multiverse: The Doomsday Suitcase. Will Flick and Jonathan be able to find the suitcase first and, even if they do, will it be enough to save the multiverse from an organisation seemingly intent on its annihilation?
In their search for the Doomsday Suitcase, Flick and Jonathan are once again joined by Avery, and find themselves travelling to Pendularbor which is an utterly fascinating, vividly described world where the plants are sentient (and there’s so much more, but I don’t want to spoil the joy of finding out about this world) with its secrets of the Stormforest.
This is an action-packed, intricately-layered and thrilling adventure that is brimming with danger, secrets and revelations that made it an unputdownable read. The terrifying encounters with the powerful and cruel Seren are tense and chilling and sent shivers down my spine.
I really enjoyed getting to know the origins of The Strangeworlds Travel Agency from why it was formed it to its involvement in what has been happening in the multiverse and the part its members have to play in trying to save the multiverse. This is deftly woven into the overall adventure, and is such a fascinating thread to follow with real depth.
Flick really comes into her own in this finale. She learns to overcome her fear, to believe in herself and to accept her magical power. She opens herself to love, friendship and family whilst also grieving for what she has lost. The ending of this trilogy is heartachingly perfect and brought both tears and smiles.
The Secrets of the Stormforest is a sublime ending to what has been an extraordinary trilogy.

There are risks aplenty and more worlds in danger as L.D Lapinski transports us across the multiverse in the final instalment of The Strangeworlds Travel Agency series. Arriving on the 14th April, this is an epic ending to what has been a fantastical, magical and enthralling read.
When Flick discovers the real reason why the whole multiverse is on the brink of collapse, she, Jonathan, Avery and her long-lost grandfather set out to save it in an urgent race against time. But the enemy they're up against is powerful and Flick will have to unlock the secrets of more undiscovered worlds and rely on alliances, past and present, to give herself and her friends any chance of surviving. Could this really be the end of...everything?
After having the privilege of reviewing both book 1 and book 2 in the series, this third novel doesn't disappoint. Throwing us into the thick of Flick's family history and the fragile future of the multiverse, the initial, carefree 'kid in a sweetshop' travelling days of the first book are long over. Now we are immersed in a dark and perilous journey where everything is at stake.
This is a book of revelations. The true enemy is revealed, the truth about Jonathan's father is revealed as well as further truths about Flick's own family. But the biggest reveal centres around Flick herself - who she is and what she is capable of. Whereas the story was previously shared between herself and Jonathan- highlighting his internal struggles as much as hers-this feels very much like Flick's battle as Jonathan becomes almost a secondary character, showing how much Flick has grown and how much the story has evolved. There's a lovely scene with Flick's parents and, as the age-old explanation of time standing still (or moving differently) in different worlds becomes strained to breaking point, L.D. Lapinski offers a brilliant fresh take on how to handle the constantly-disappearing-teen-who-never-comes-home issue.
As with the previous two novels, L.D Lapinski's fabulous imagination remains completely on point. I love the magical world that becomes 'the stormforest' and the extraordinary concept of the trees that live there. The plot is vividly imagined and executed with both skilful writing and timing and the true enemies are ruthless and horrifying. Again, there are themes of grief and loss, accountability and family and amid the relentless, fast-paced quest are some genuinely tender moments that give the novel its heart.
As you would expect at the end of the trilogy, there's a big and daring climax involving both old and new characters. But one particular thing that hit me here was how much this series has come into its own. Having previously spotted parallels - in a good way- to classic literature such as Peter Pan, Oz and Phillip Pullman's Northern Lights, I didn't make any such connections this time round, simply because this series is what it is; fresh, original, exciting and one which pushes the fictional science of worlds-with its schisms and magical energy-to new boundaries. What started out as a fantastically simple concept- travelling to different worlds through a variety of suitcases- has unpacked itself into a dark, complex fantasy trilogy that has more depth than an ocean. And that is what I love about it!
A big thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a review copy. The Strangeworlds Travel Agency: The Secrets of Stormforest is now available to pre-order.

The Secrets of the Stormforest was everything I hoped it would be. It tied together all the loose-ends and questions that I had from reading the first two Strangeworlds books as well as adding to the story-arc and world-building detail. The whole trilogy has been an absolute pleasure to read. I absolutely love the originality of the world and it's magic as well as the fact that we get to see the impact that joining the Strangeworlds Society has on Flick's home-life too, which I think is too often skipped over in magical adventure fiction. It added a really nice element to it.
I absolutely cannot wait to see what L. D. Lapinski writes next!

The idea of stepping through a suitcase and entering a whole new world is such a brilliant concept that I have enjoyed the StrangeWorlds Travel Agency so much, that I was delighted to be offered a chance to read the 3rd exciting instalment. Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Children's
for the opportunity.
In The secrets of the Stormforest, we join Flick, Jonathan & Avery on one last amazing and magical fuelled adventure. Adventuring with old familiar friends and meeting some new characters on the way, we join them as they work together to defend their world and others from a fearsome foe. A foe that threatens everything.
I have to be honest there were points in the story where I shed a few tears. L.D. Lapinski has created characters that you become so attached to that they feel like family so their loss feels real. This is the power of fantastic writing.
A tremendous instalment of this fantastic series.

I have been dying to read this book since finishing the second volume in the trilogy last Summer and it did not disappoint. The book picks up immediately after the events in book 2 with Flick and Jonathan deciding what they need to do to protect the multiverse from the Seren.
The author’s vivid imagination comes to the fore again as we journey to the forest world where all living things are plants. We also visit some old locations too as Flick and Jonathan together with Avery and a couple of unexpected companions fight to protect all of the worlds.
Flick’s journey through this trilogy has been an amazing one and she really grows in this book as she learns more about her powers and what she is really capable of. She has to deal with fear too: both for herself and also what the effects of her magic might be. I love the slow burning romance between her and Avery and there is just enough of it for a pair of thirteen year old girls.
The book takes the reader on a real roller coaster of a journey both in terms of the plot which is as full of twists and turns as you might expect but also emotionally. We have excitement and drama together with love and loss and the themes of friendship and family are even stronger here than in the previous two books.
I thought that the ending was totally satisfying with all the loose ends tied up in a brilliantly organised conclusion. This was a fantastic finale to a wonderful series.
Huge thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I stumbled upon The Strangeworlds Travel Agency by chance on NetGalley a couple of years back and I decided to take the plunge and give it a go. I’m so glad I did! I’ve been avidly following the adventures of Flick and Jonathan into the many suitcases within The Strangeworlds Travel Agency ever since.
Fast forward to book 3, and I was as excited as a child at Christmas to be given an advanced copy to read via NetGalley. I devoured it within a couple of days, even though I wanted it to last forever. I know the children in my class will be as excited as I was when I get a copy in school for them to read.

Man I don’t have the words for how much I loved this story. How invested I am in the characters and their relationships. This gave me everything I wanted and more: Magic, friendship, adventures, scintillating baddies and old friends. You get everything in this: glorious messages about believing in yourself, important stuff about love and friendship and even a few chuckles. I definitely cried for a good portion of this; gasped a few times and even was suspicious of those who I needn’t be. I love Flick and her gang so much. I’m so sad that this incredible adventure is over… but grateful and pleased that it’s been in my life!

Mind blowingly exciting adventures continue with Flick and Jonathan, and Avery.Travelling through the suitcases, they have to stop the enemies who drain the magic from the travelled worlds. Trust, friendship and perseverance bring the trio to a worthwhile conclusion ( no spoilers here) and Jonathan at last finds what he has been looking for. Totally immersive.
A brilliant read. Highly recommended.
Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book ahead of publication in exchange for an honest review.

It’s funny how your sense of time changes as you age. When I speak to the children in my class who tell me they can’t wait for their birthday, or for Christmas, to arrive when it is only a matter of a few days or weeks, their desire for the special day to arrive is almost palpable. For me, as someone much older, there is no great excitement now for either the festive season or the anniversary of my natal date – other than them both being an excuse to overindulge in unhealthy food – but I still feel that longing and need when I anticipate certain books.
This, the third and final, of the Strangeworlds Travel Agency series is one such title. Not due to be published until 14th April, it has been torment seeing proof copies landing on other bloggers’ doormats and so when I was approved to read it early through Net Galley, I was beyond excited to do so, dropping everything ahead of it in the queue that I normally so strictly adhere to return to the adventures of Flick and Jonathan after that revelation at the end of Book 2.
We re-join Flick, reflecting on what she has just been told, alongside trusted friend and fellow member of the Strangeworlds Travel Agency Jonathan, about the creation of the schisms. These tears in the fabric of the multiverse which allow the travellers to move between worlds, also allow through those whose journeys are not undertaken for the purpose of tourism or exploration, and it appears that all of the multiverse is in the most enormous danger.
Together with friends old and new, Flick and Jonathan must travel through the multiverse to the Stormforest in order to find the one thing that will prevent those who would harm the inhabitants of the many other worlds from destroying everything. Can they locate it in time to prevent complete disaster or will those whose intentions are chaos and catastrophe get there first?
Gosh, there is so much I want to say about this book, and so many details I wanted to include in my summary, but this is such a dynamic and explosive story that it is just not possible without including the most enormous spoilers. Here, Flick finally comes into her own. No longer is she the curious, impulsive child she was in Book 1 – someone on the lookout for fun to distract her from the boredom of her day-to-day life and responsibilities – but now her actions are much more carefully considered as she realises the crucial part she has to play in the events that unfold around her.
Together with Jonathan and his cousin Avery – whom we met in Book 2 – Flick comes to understand fully the duties and obligations of the Strangeworlds Travel Agency, and she finally comprehends the role that only she can take on if they are to set everything right. What unfolds is an incredible final adventure that is a fitting conclusion to the trilogy, tying up as it does all of the loose threads that have been woven through Books 1 and 2 and which have teased readers right from the start.
The whole trilogy is an absolute masterpiece, and one which deserves a place on the bookshelf of every fan of great middle grade writing. Inclusive, exciting and crammed full of luscious detail, L. D. Lapinski has created an original must-have narrative which I know I won’t be the only one returning to over and over again. Perfect for more confident Year 4 readers upwards, I would recommend that the series is best read in order so that the reader has already encountered some of the reappearing characters here, and is familiar with all of the backstory before picking this up.
The most enormous thanks go to publisher Orion Children’s Books and to Net Galley for my advance read. Secrets of the Stormforest is published on April 14th.

It feels like I have waited a lifetime to read this book. I’ve traveled through countless worlds, on gut-wrenching adventures, with Felicity, Jonathan and the Strangeworlds Society over the past two years. Each book in this trilogy left me with more questions than answers and so I could not wait to read The Secrets of the Stormforest to find the answers I had so desperately sought.
The final book in the series does not disappoint. Secrets and lies are unravelled and the crew face their deadliest adventure yet. It’s an action-packed, utterly unpredictable read - I could not put it down. Each page brought excitement, emotion and uncertainty. The trilogy is wrapped up beautifully in a series that has grown in maturity alongside its readers. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

With the Seren threatening, it is up to Flick and Johnathan to discover exactly what is happening and why, and then they need to work out how to save their world, as well as countless others.
I know that this is a very brief synopsis of the book, but I really don't want to give anything away!
The Secrets of the Stormforest is the last in the Strangeworlds trilogy and, as The Edge of the Ocean was left on such a cliffhanger, I was incredibly excited to be able to dive into book 3 early (although, also torn by the fact that I knew I would be saying goodbye to Flick and Johnathan at the end of it). And I have to say that I wasn't disappointed: exciting from the very beginning, right up to the end, this is a rollercoaster of a journey, both in terms of the action as well as the emotions experienced. Expect to need tissues if you are anything like me!
The plot slips between worlds and helps to answer questions that have been dangling since book 1. It's unpredictable and will make you gasp on several occasions, and I promise you won't want to put the book down. I began reading it on a Sunday evening and then found myself thinking of Flick and Johnathan when I was away from the book, longing to get back to them every evening - a rooky error, I should have begun reading on a Saturday morning so I could have read the book in one sitting!
I have loved Flick and Jonathan from the very start: the uniqueness of Johnathan and his approach to everything - he is somebody I would love to get to know. Flick's journey has evolved as we have progressed through the series and I was thrilled to see the way Lapinski took her in this final instalment. She will be a role model for children everywhere. Both characters are true to themselves and I love that about them. Strong in their own ways and loyal in their friendship - they are characters I will remember for a very long time.
Strageworlds is a concept I have adored from the very first book, and I often find myself looking at suitcases and wondering where they may take me - unfortunately, the cases in my loft have yet to reveal other worlds when I have opened them - I confess now that I still open every suitcase with an air of expectancy!
The Secrets of the Stormforest was a fitting end to an utterly spellbinding trilogy and one I know I will revisit time and time again. Now excuse me whilst I head to inspect my suitcases again ... just in case!

Really excited to go back to Strangeworlds Travel Agency.
This adventure is the one that ties the first two together.
This adventure is about saving the place they love and who owns it?
I will be rereading these for the summer with my son we loved all the adventures this series has had to offer, we even tried to have an adventure in the suitcase (you should see where we ended up!!)

The end of #LGBTHM22 was a good excuse to read the 3rd & final #Strangeworlds book by @ldlapinski (fab ill. by @natsmillie) via #NetGalley. Just the right blend of excitement, humour, personal growth, supportive families, & GUT WRENCHING HEARTBREAK 😭 https://t.co/Dp75u03W1S

I loved this book so much! It was the perfect end to the trilogy, and although I'm sad to say goodbye to Flick and Jonathan, this was an amazing way to do it. I loved how everything and everyone came together, and there were some fantastic twists along the way. I laughed, I cried, I cried some more. A fantastic ending to a fantastic series!

An electrifying ending to a magical series of hope and adventure, The Secrets of the Stormforest made me gasp in shock, whoop in excitement and cry both happy and sad tears. This series is a classic in the making!

What a brilliant ending to a beloved series. Honestly one of the best children's series I have read in recent years! If you haven’t read this series yet, go to your closest bookstore, coerce a bookseller into showing you where this series is and buy all three (especially once this one has been released) for your child, your family members, you friends and of course yourself!
I can promise you, you won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely loved this series and am very sad to see it end, although there are some hints about the future; I just hope I am not being too optimistic! A fabulous story, which leaves you with a big sigh of satisfaction as the action is resolved. This is a five star series.
