This Is a great woman's Fiction with laugh out loud elements added in.

I liked this book a lot and found myself laughing at some of the quotes that were inside.

It drew me in slowly but as soon as I got into the flow of the story i couldn't put it down.

Highly recommended if you like rom coms, woman's Fiction and just a good laugh out loud read

A really good book, it made me laugh out loud so many times!

I didn't expect the ending but it was perfect, it really made me think about how much the memories and history make up a person, who would I be if I lost 10 years of my life. Such a good and funny book!

It can't be over, can it? If you are reading this review before reading the rest of the series, then you need to go back and read them all.
I absolutely love the Callaghan sisters, and loved each sister as we got to know them. I would love a book written from the parents perspective.
I loved Lucy's story, but you really need the whole background to fully enjoy her story.
The epilogue was a fitting end to a brilliant series, and I will miss these crazy ladies.
I had the joy of reading and listening to this book, my absolute favourite way to enjoying books, loved reading it, loved the narrator

I went into this book not knowing it was a series, and I didn’t feel like I skipped a beat! I instantly fell in love with these characters, the family dynamic, and especially the sisterly bond. All of it felt like one big hug the entire time I was reading! This was a wonderful palette cleanser for me as I read mostly thrillers.

I don't know where to start this review, I am so sad that the series is over but hell what a book to end on!

I think Lucy is the person we all wish we could be. She is direct, has strong self-belief and will stick to her morals. Lucy isn't afraid to call someone out if she doesn't like their behaviour. I wish I was as brave as Lucy because sometimes people need calling on their sh*t. It was very interesting finding out about Lucy's missing decade and what she got up to.

This book was full of some of the best laugh out loud moments. I listened to the audiobook for this and regularly found myself chuckling away as I listened not caring who could hear me. There were also quite a few tearful moments. Kristen really brought out all the emotions for me in this book.

I absolutely loved having all the sisters together and I can only imagine what it must have been like in that house while they were all growing up. I come from a big family and I know it was chaos for us.

My one tiny criticism is the name of the book. I don't think it quite fits with the story. Lucy isn't allergic to men and the story isn't about her finding love so I feel like it gives off the wrong vibe to prospective readers.

I really enjoyed the narration too. Sarah did a really good job with building the emotions. She also made it really easy to follow who was talking when. I found her voice to be very engaging.

I am devastated that this series is over but I do look forward to seeing what Kristen is going to bring next as I'm sure it will be filled with her trademark humour and characters you can't help but love.

What a wonderful array into the world of traumatic injuries and the workings of what happens to someone after a big accident. The family dynamics and warmth between the characters helped to build a picture of how much support is needed when someone loses their memory and physically has to recover from an accident.

Dnf'd - this just wasn't for me, I just couldn't get into the writing unfortunately, I'm so sorry

I might give this a go again when I'm up for it as it has shining ratings from other reviewers

mmm how to begin this review... when I requested this book it was mainly because of the title since it give me funny vibes but I also thought romance. This book was not what I expected and its definitely not bad but it approached different topics.
This books focus on Lucy and how she lost her memory and how she and her sisters managed. I really liked Lucy and her sisters relationship. However, although Lucy supposed to be funny I was exasperated some times with her behavior. Don't get me wrong some scenes were funny but others were not...

Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

I couldn’t wait for Lucy’s story considering she is the fearless funny Callaghan sister and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, she tried to take on a bus and lost her memory. Reverting back 12 years to the age of seventeen, Lucy discovers cellphones, sexting, and who the mysterious Oscar is.

Lucy’s 17-year-old self is overwhelmed trying to find and understand her 30-year-old self by going along with her sisters’ good intentions to jog her memory. From going back to her old school and confronting her bitchy headteacher Mrs. Willett to meeting her interesting flatmates, her loveable actor co-workers and friends, and her wanker exes. What she discovers is her love and thankfulness of her wonderfully supportive family including her four sisters, her Mum and Dad, and her 9 nieces and nephews.

Lucy shows us her vulnerable side as she struggles to get her memory back. What we find is that she is courageous, she’s a free spirit, she pulverizes bullies and she lives life to the fullest. She’s inappropriate but hilarious. She’s a talented actor, dancer, and the best Aunty ever. But most of all she would lay down her life for her family as they would do for her. After all, who clashes and crashes better than the incredible Callaghan family? The whole slide armageddon at the park is priceless. And what says love more than a mum replacing all of her adult daughters’ ratty knickers. LOL moments galore!!!!

I also appreciate the great send-off with the epilogue updating us on the Callaghan’s futures. I will miss this whacky family with their unconditional love and their incredible hearts.

I absolutely adore this insightful and memorable series. If you love heartwarming family dynamics and hilarious hijinks, please pick up this wonderful series. It won’t disappoint.
Thank you to Ms. Bailey for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

I am a big fan of the Callaghan sisters and this series. Am I Allergic to Men? follows the youngest sister, Lucy. Lucy is intelligent, strong and unapologetic in all parts of her life. After a horrible accident, Lucy suffers from amnesia. She wakes up with no memory of the last ten or so years thinking that she is still 17 years old. Lucy goes through a journey of not only recovering her memories, but self discovery. I loved the clever idea of Lucy looking at her life through the lenses of her 17 year old self. She moves through confusion, disappointment and pride in who she has become.

Like previous novels in this series, a lot of the focus is around the Callaghan sisters. Their relationship with each other is inspiring, full of love and humor. Lucy's over the top escapades had me laughing out loud. For those who have read the book, I have two words: sex club.

Overall a wonderful read and a great continuation of the Callaghan sister series.

Happy Pub Day to this book! I did not know until I started looking into this book that this is a series and the fourth book in the series. The title caught my eye! I am looking forward to checking out all the other books written by this author as well! Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was the first book I read by this author. I didn't find it extremely humorous, but the main Lucy, kept me interested in the story. The family dynamic between Lucy and her siblings was my favorite thing. I have a sister and she is my best friend!

What an absolutely delightful and heartbreaking book!
Free spirited Lucy is 29 with dreams of acting and theatre.
She has always been outspoken and sassy and not afraid to live life on her terms.
After a horrific accident with a bus, Lucy is left with no Memory of the last 10 years of her life.
With the support and help of her family and friends will she be able to remember?
Or will the last 10 years remain a mystery as she comes to terms with her new life.

This book literally HAD. IT. ALL.
Lucy is such an inspiring character. The hardships and struggles she faces with her Amnesia was heartbreaking.
I loved her witty banter with EVERYONE she comes in contact with and her take no sh*t attitude even when life seems bleak and confusing.
Her character development was perfect and flowed seamlessly.
the book heavy relied on family bonds and sisterhood which I absolutely loved.
And the ending was so touching and just what the story needed.

Bonus was finding out there were 4 other books based on Lucys' sisters, I cant wait to read more about them all.

This was such a lovely book! But, disclaimer, it's not a romance.

The sheer chaotic-ness of it was off the charts! But it was also such a heartfelt, earnest, cute story. It was lighthearted, but also a tale about self-re-discovery, the weight of expectations and the importance of family and friends.

Lucy was an absolute whirlwind. She was her own woman and didn't care about what the traditional path for a woman's life looked like. She lived large, wild and free. Loved her four older sisters, family and friends passionately and fiercely, and unapologetically chased that which made her happy. She was crass and unashamed and an absolute delight!

The parts were the five sisters were together were fantastic! I loved the energy. Their bond and love for each other jumped out of the page.

I can't even imagine what it'd be like to lose the memories of the last 10 years of my life. Compared to Lucy, my life is extremely boring and prudish, but age-wise I could relate to her very strongly. I've also questioned my path in life, and if the decisions I've made have been the correct ones. I don't know that my 17 year-old self would be satisfied with me at present, so I could very much empathize with Lucy in that respect.

Lucy defied expectations, broke conventions and defied the norm; she actually pretty much laughed in the face of all those things and continued living life to the beat of her own drum. She worked hard and played hard, and was filled with so much love for living.

I had a bit of a hard time getting into it at first, because I felt like I was missing a whole lot of background info. This book would have probably been 10 times better had I read the sisters' books and been more familiar with each of their stories before starting this one. I wouldn't recommend reading this series as standalone books, it's probably better to go in order. Also there was A LOT of British slang that I didn't catch entirely, and some references that most likely flew clean over my head, but context clues helped a lot, so at least there was that.

In short, this book was a perfect blend of inspiring, uplifting, thoughtful, hilarious, inappropriate and sweet. I liked it a lot.

No era lo que me esperaba tbh. I thought this was going to be an enemies to lovers tipe of romance but no, la verdad que me sorprendió.

Just what do you think you'd do
If you woke up and had forgotten a year or two?
Or, even worse for Lucy as a decade has gone
And she has no memories of it - not even one!

She has no memories of smartphones or Netflix,
The idea of them scares her to bits!
And the strangers that come to visit, too,
Who they are she hasn't a clue!

Her sisters and parents are there for her
Showing her their love and their care.
What happened in the decade is a mystery
And together they determine to share her history.

This is a heartwarming story, filled with laughter
That has you hoping she'll be fine ever after.
A read packed with family and fun
That keeps you guessing till it is done.

There are past relationships to explore,
Events, secrets and so much more!
A forgotten decade of living life to the full,
Finding out what she did certainly isn't dull!

For my copy of this very different read, I say thank you.
I enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

This was a first time read for me by this author. The title gave me the impression this was a rom-com, where different themes of feminism would come into play. But in fact the story was more a woman's fiction, focusing on friends and sibling relationships and learning how to love yourself. Although the fifth book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. Lucy meets with an unfortunate accident and ends up with amnesia. She can't remember the last ten years of her life and in her mind she is still seventeen. As she tries to piece together her life and regain herself, it was so amazing to see all the support she was given from her famiily and friends, especially her siblings. I was definitely hooked from the start and the story reminds you to appreciate what you have, especially your good friends and family. It was an entertaining story that brought on quite a few goods laughs and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to read it.

I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I really loved the idea that this book was going off of, the blurb and title/cover itself is exactly what I would usually be into, but not 100% in love with this one. Going into this book I wasn't aware that this was in a series (I have not read nor plan to read any of the other books) so maybe that was my fault and I might have missed out on a great read if I knew the background. I felt that the main character, Lucy, was a little bit annoying, and it may be just the way the book went with her being in her coma and then coming out of it, but I feel like she was very cliché. If you like romance books and just need something to read I wouldn't say don't pick this one up, but it wouldn't be my first choice either. 3-3.5 stars/5

The story begins with Lucy out celebrating her 18th birthday with her 4 sisters and friends. She is an independent and sassy person who doesn’t take well to men trying to hook up with her.

Next we see Lucy 12 years later. She and several of her friends work as Disney characters for children’s parties. Money is always tight so they try to take as many gigs as they can. Just as she has finished with a child’s birthday party, her boss calls and needs her to work at another across town and fast. So, she hops a bike and takes off. But, somehow she gets hit by a bus and ends up in the hospital.

Some days later, she finally wakes up from a coma to find her family around her. They look older to her and they realize she has lost her memory from the time of her 18th birthday to the present time. When she’s released, she heads home to her parents with her sisters around her to recuperate and hopefully regain her memory.

Lucy decides to look up people that supposed to be from her past and see if they can help her remember things. Her friends are not what you would expect but they all love her.

I love the Callaghan sisters. All of them have different personalities but they love and support each other. Lucy is funny, promiscuous, but most of all dedicated to her family and friends. Lots of laughs and a delightful change from the seriousness of some novels. Well done, Kristen.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Plot - Lucy has an accident that leaves her in a coma. She wakes up thinking she is 17. After that she makes following plans:

Plan A: Track down my exes. Highlights include a one-night stand with someone in a Batman costume, and balcony sex that gave the neighbors a nervous breakdown.
Plan B: Get flirty. Lowlights include a fling with someone hairier than a yeti.
Plan C: Figure out why I have more exes than underwear. Am I allergic to men?

As I mentioned, this is my honest review. That is.. I didn't enjoy it.. I'm usually ok with different type of humor, but here for this story it didn't make scenes fun as it probably intended to. Writing was ok I guess. As I see from other reviews - there are people who will like it and then there's others, like me, who didn't enjoy it. Romance - what romance? Also I had issues with Lucy - our annoying and obnoxious MC.

What I did like was the family dynamic between Lucy and her siblings.

Thank you either way and I hope others will enjoy this story more than I did.

Can I just say, right from the start of this review, that…

…I love Lucy.

I finished reading Ms. Bailey’s latest book - the fifth in her excellent series about the Callaghan girls - in the wee hours of this morning (Saturday 22nd January 2022).

After which I snapped my Kindle shut - this was a preview copy supplied to me by Bookouture for review purposes ahead of a “virtual book tour” that begins on February 3rd - and let my head fall onto my pillow. Instead of sleeping, I tossed and turned. And so, with the clock edging towards 0200, I found myself stood at the kitchen worktop munching a bowl of honey-flavoured cereal shapes while filling in a crossword puzzle. I wasn’t even hungry. Or filling in the answers correctly.

Why couldn’t you sleep? I hear you ask. Well, read on and I will tell you.

Instead of falling peacefully into the land of Nod, my mind was racing with thoughts on how best to tackle my review about Lucy Callaghan - the youngest and my most favourite - of the fiesty siblings of which Ms. B writes so well.

You see, there are five Callaghan girls. And, as alluded to earlier, this is the fifth in the series. Now, I am no great mathematician and, even at two in the morning and despite my crossword failings, I can deduct five from five and realise that the zero I have left is precisely how many further Callaghan books I have to look forward to.

Zero. Zilch. Nada. None. Nowt. Bugger all.

So, on waking this morning, I have determined to start my review of “Am I Allergic To Men?” with a few complaints.

The first is directed at Bookouture.

COMPLAINT A:
Dear Folk at Bookouture,
Who among your, normally superb team, dropped the ball and didn’t suggest to Kristen Bailey that only five Callaghan sisters wasn’t enough? Why didn’t somebody insist on ten, or even fifteen, girls?
Yours,
Miffed Reader, Yorkshire.

There. I think that is a suitably harsh rebuke aimed at the publishers.

Now, onto my second complaint. This one to the lovely Ms. B. herself.
(I had not read any “blurb” ahead of this book - it being a Kristen Bailey read was simply enough of an enticement for me - and was therefore unaware of the basic premise of the storyline to come. So, please forgive me if the following is something of a plot spoiler.)

COMPLAINT B:
Dear Ms. B.
I am very annoyed at you.
How could you let Lucy get hit by a bus? How can you create such a wonderful, lively, lovely and life-affirming Lucy and then twat her with a ruby-red Routemaster?*
What sort of deranged monster are you?
Yours,
Miffed Reader, Yorkshire.

But, being serious for a brief moment, I loved this book. After all, this is the installment in the series I have most looked forward to. This book is all about the irrepressible Luce Cannon - this is her own gig.

I felt it was a slightly less crazy and chaotic Lucy that we meet in this read. I suppose face-planting a double-decker will mellow even the liveliest of folk. Even so, this is another terrific chapter in the series. Lucy is aided and abetted by her siblings, each one bringing their own vibe to her tale and propelling us along in the narrative. Even Ma Callaghan pops uo to show us just why her girls are the way they are.

There are some terrifically funny bits, some fabulous one-liners and, possibly a little unexpected given this is Lucy’s story, some genuinely tender moments within this book. We do see a few unexpected twists and surprises along the way. Lucy is a gal that constanty surprises. That’s why we (well, this reader anyway) adore her.

As stated at the top of the page…I love Lucy.

However, it did upset me a little to see Lucy get hurt and damaged and to suffer doubts and insecurities. After all, no one likes their favorite characters to come to harm. As readers we want only the best for our on-page heroines.

But that is the skill of Ms. B’s writing. She has penned characters that this reader cares for and feels strongly about. Lucy and her sisters Beth, Grace, Emma and Meg no longer exist only in the mind of their creator, they reside fully in mine. The sisters are - as much as fictional folk can be - fully fledged and whole beings. They live and they breathe. This author is really finding her feet and establishing a solid - and immensely enjoyable - body of work.

It has been a joy and privilege to follow the improvement, enhancement and progress of Kristen’s work during this series. My four adventures “on tour” with Ms. B. and the Callaghan clan have been great fun while reading and reviewing her books.

It has been a joy and a pleasure to read these books. Some readers may give little regard to titles in this genre - these books fall under the general area of romantic comedies - and possibly pooh-pooh others who read them. In her notes at the end, Ms. B writes that she “never tell(s) people I write romantic comedies because, to me, romance is kinda corny.” Instead, she insists that she writes about love and the multitude of ways that it is felt, shown and delivered. I plant my flag firmly in the camp of "read whatever the heck you want to read, as long as folk are reading then that's all good”.

With the world the way is- was, always has been, will be..? - what is wrong with a little romance? Last year, the previous book in the series, “How Much Wine Will Fix My Broken Heart?”, went a long way towards fixing my broken mind. I will be forever grateful to Ms. B’s words that helped nudge me a little closer back to being me.

We could all do with a bit of love. We coud do with sharing more of it too. As readers new to the series will discover between these pages, Lucy is a proud exponent of freely sharing love!

So, if you haven’t read any of the five books yet, I urge you to do so. And, if you decide to take the trip into the world of the Callaghan’s, then I envy you. Because you have all five to look forward to.

But, while you enjoy them and laugh and cry along with the five sisters, please spare a thought for me…

For Ms. B. Has left me with a world without a new Callaghan girls’ book to anticipate.

Bad Ms. B.

* I do know that Routemaster buses were withdrawn from service during the early part of the 2000s but I really liked the alliteration of “ruby-red Routemaster”.
