This was a fun and cute read for me. Super light. It was a little predictable but all in all, I enjoyed it.
ARC provided by Netgalley for an honest review.
I honestly don't know what the hell I even just read. I was looking for a sweet, romantic Halloween love story featuring the Bride of Frankenstein. This tiny 25 page story had to have been written by a child. There's no other explanation. The way it is written, the dialog between the characters, the grammatical errors... I can go on and on. Just no.
This is a story that I was excited to read. It sounded like a unique premise and the type of thing that could appeal to me. Unfortunately, this one fell far short of my expectations. I love short stories and novellas but this one need to be fleshed out a lot more. Because of that I felt like it was confusing and didn't make much sense. I'm also not sure that the book quite knew what it was trying to be and I think that was what led to some of the confusion. I also did not realize that this was the continuation of the author's first story, which I have not read. Perhaps if I had that might have made this story more enjoyable for me. I still think there were some good ideas here but they needed to be developed more.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this in exchange for an honest and fair revies.
I have to admit I am nit a fan of these short novella books especially if nit expecting something so short. Found out after I finished this one that it was a second installation to one already put up on Amazon. A flash of ideas so to speak. Very condensed & under finished ideas that didn't click as much as I needed. them too. Apparently a woman that was dead & a ghost met a couple of modern assholes that set her up & planned to do horrible things to her when they found she was dead & they could. It isn't the worst things I have read lately as have a beef with an author that put out a meanspirited book for Xmas I need to ream. I think the author could combine these & really really flesh them out & might be appealing to horror/goth crew
I didn't really understand what the story was trying to be.
It didn't make sense and nothing was really fleshed out.
I get that this is a short story, but it still has to flow.
Interesting idea, just poorly executed.
I think this could have used another 50 pages to give a bit more backstory and detail.
Thanks (?) to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my DRC.
This book is one that i love the description but not the book. I felt like it needed more work. I like that its different and i need that in a book. Wasnt a fan of thr characters.
DNF literally what was this??
The writing was the choppiest I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t finish this. Characters were referred to with several names, which was really hard to keep track of.
I got this as an ARC from NetGalley.
This is a short story about Terra continuing the first book, The Mystery Of Frankenstein's Bride. This time with more than Frankenstein. Dracula, Zombie, and a Psychic come in. Quick and good read.
Thanks to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley, I have given an honest review of Love On All Hallows Eve by Martha Wickham.
cannot put into words what I just read.
It was choppy and it jumped around from one storyline to another but never really had a plot or ant consistency.
The characters names all jumped around and it was hard to keep track of who was who, and that’s shocking wicks it only took me 20 minutes to read it.
I always try to find something complimentary to say about a book, but I can’t think of anything, honestly.
I read this today and honesty I read to the end. I couldn't tell any of a story or anything about the characters or what they looked like. I think it's a good concept but it needs flushing out to a bigger book. I needed more of a background to the characters and more development as there wasn't anything to this book no substance as we call it. I feel speech was in this but I had no clue about the story.
First of all, I love anything regarding horror. So last night I downloaded this immediately after I saw the reader's copy available because I loved the previous one The Mystery of Frankenstein's Bride so I needed to read the sequel Love On All Hallows Eve.
In this short story Terra meets Bobby. He pretends to be a real vampire and they start dating. But when Bobby & Sam find out that Terra is the undead bride of Frankenstein they have a violent break up. Terra later, get haunted and reaches to psychic Rose. The hardest part for Terra is to let go the machine which brought herband Frankenstein back to life.
To be honest, it's a very short story one can read in a single sitting. It's very quick easy to understand. Mostly for middle grades.
I liked how first paced and well flowed it is. Characters developed well. I always like her story so there's no question of not liking this story actually I loved it.
Highly recommended.
