I LOVED this! I love the fake trope so much, and this was no exception. Josh and Gemma's history only added to the beauty of their story. This had great side characters (like Gemma's fertility friends), twists and turns I didn't see coming, and main characters you fall in love with and root for. This is my first Sarah Ready book I've read before, and I definitely won't be my last. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Ready’s book was so heartwarming, beautiful and at times quite funny. Gemma is a lovable and relatable main character. In addition, Josh is a sweet and patient partner for Gemma. This book will have you grinning from cheek to cheek a recommended read for anyone who loves a happily ever after!

This book was really great - I laughed, I cried and probably smiled through the vast majority reading it. Gemma decides to take life into her own hands and have a baby through IVF due to some health complications. She needs a donor and who better than Josh - her brother's best friend and stable constant in her life. Little does she know Josh has been in love with her. Although this books deals with fertility - a sensitive hard subject - especially to women readers, I thought it was very tasteful and thoughtful. Seriously this was so cute! I would recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

If you like Romcoms this book is for you. Is a very simple story but so cute and kinda cheesy and exactly what I expected. Is super lovely and funny and a little bit spicy.
I really like it and am so excited to read more books of the author.

Josh and Gemma make a baby is a beautiful story about finding yourself, finding friendship, and being brave enough to go after what you actually want.

I originally saw Josh and Gemma Make a Baby on a Goodreads' giveaway so I was super excited I finally got my hands on it. I was expecting a good book and that's exactly what I got and then some. I loved the dynamic between Josh and Gemma. I would definitely check out some trigger warnings for infertility, IVF and miscarriage.

I really liked this book. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. I especially liked the inspirational quotes that are given. This book also made me realize that sometimes we judge people too quickly. An important issue like infertility is discussed which is usually sidelined in literature. Overall, it is a wholesome book.

First time reading a book by the author Sarah Ready. I was given the opportunity by Netgalley to review this and I thought why not. I've been in the mood for YA/rom-com books. I loved everything about this book. The banter between Josh & Gemma has everything to do with lime. Plus I learned so much about IVF and the trials of what so many couples have to go through.

My friends and I have always said that if we weren’t settled with a man by a certain age, we were just going to forget the man and start a family on our own. And that’s exactly what Gemma does in this book. Even though this book covers some sensitive topics such as infertility, the struggles of IVF, and miscarriage, it’s written in a way that allows readers to relate to the material without feeling too heavy. Sarah Ready was able to keep it a lighthearted, relatable, cute read.

This was a really quick read. I enjoyed it more than I expected to as pregnancy tropes are absolutely not my thing. But this was so cute!

I enjoyed the accurate representation of endometriosis, infertility and IVF. The ups and downs, the difficulties and the wins.

All of the chubby comments about the protagonist made me cringe every time, especially when used in conjunction with her infertility to make it seem like she wasn’t worthy of love and then she believed it! Heartbreaking, but I was glad to see development beyond this. The fact that she’s relentlessly called chubby also had me questioning why there is a very tiny petite woman on the cover.

The title seems lazy. It’s literally just ✨the plot✨ I really think it could have been more clever. I genuinely would have skipped this book if I went off of title alone, but I’m sure it will cause others to grab it for the same reason.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my time reading this book. Josh Lewenthal is a swoon worthy book boyfriend!

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very well drawn and the author made me care about their lives. Lovely romance.

The title of this book had me intrigued from the beginning. I read books before about a women asking her male friend to help her have a baby but none of those included infertility issues. I loved all the character details including lots of raw real emotional moments. Infertility can be a touchy subject but I felt the author did a good job. The first 30% was a little slow for me but I was hooked after that. It was a little cheesy at times but oh so cute!

This book caught my eye on Netgalley (mostly because the title is so blunt and direct, lol), and I wasn't too sure what to expect. First of all, I will say that I don't think this book will sit well with those who have trigger warnings around infertility, IVF, endometriosis, or similar types of life circumstances, so it's something to be aware of before considering this book. I feel that the way this scenario (undergoing IVF as a single person) is handled in the book is a bit unrealistic in its timeline and ease of access to medical care, but I could be wrong about that in the US etc.

Aside from all of that, I did find the story HILARIOUS at times, and full of some good romantic angst, and it had a super super swoony ending and a lot of heartfelt/character growth type moments that were fun to read. It was definitely an enjoyable story that pulled at my heartstrings, had unique family points, had hilarious banter and narrative, and was fun to discuss afterwards. It does require some suspension of belief in reality BUT I think that was part of the fun too, and that's what fiction is for. Would this exact romance story happen to anyone in real life? Maybe not likely, but that's fine. I also have a bit of a soft spot for the brother's best friend trope so that helped too :)
I didn't absolutely love the female lead character and some of her decisions but it also made sense why she was like that - and I loved the male lead enough to counteract that in my rating.

Long story short - this one is worth considering if you want a total escapist type romance and those triggers don't ring alarm bells for you! It's READ NOW/LISTEN NOW on Netgalley until February!

This was SO cute, I read it in 24 hours! It’s everything I thought it was going to be and so much more. I think Sarah Ready might be one of my new favorite romcom authors… she’s hilarious. This charming book is well written, packed with LOL moments and one of the sweetest romantic stories I’ve read so far this year. It took a few chapters to get into it but stick it out, it gets so much better. If you’re looking for a classic, light-hearted, quick rom-com this book is definitely for you!

I LOVED this book. When Gemma decides her New Year's Resolution is to have a baby, she takes business into her own hands and asks Josh, a long-term family friend and her brother's best friend, to be the donor. When Josh agrees, Gemma can barely believe it.

This book is everything I was looking for right now. It was fun, refreshing, and it deals with topics very close to my personal experience. Check TW before reading, as this book deals with a lot of sensitive topics. But I really, really recommend reading it. It has spark, spice and a touch of harsh reality. I also ADORED the illustrations in a very Little Prince style. I thought it was an amazing touch.

Let me finish this review with my favourite quote: "Love is the best thing I've ever had the privilege to give."

I Absolutely Loved this book. Gemma was relatable and likeable and her drive to achieve her dream was admirable. I love a girl power story and the idea that Gemma wanted to fight for her baby even though her marriage had collapsed was inspiring. As for Josh; who wouldn't want him as a sperm donor? He's gorgeous, funny and been there from the start. Their banter was realistic and funny with an element of goofiness that's often overlooked in fictional relationships. I loved the story and its quirkiness and would highly recommend.

this has been sitting on my kindle for a while, and although the dates aren’t helping my case, i “did” fly through it! this book was textbook definition of a rom-com movie, as it had all the clichés and all the amusement and lightheartedness that comes with the genre. a really good book to get you out of your reading slump.

i won’t lie; there’s been a few things i didn’t like about this book (hence the 3-stars only review), but the thing about easy, light books is how casually detached from reality they are, which makes for a simple, uncomplicated reading experience. this equaled watching a two-hour rom-com, as in, greatly entertained but also not overly attached to the story/characters when it ended. which was exactly what i’d been looking for when i started it, so it did the trick for me.

it does mention some serious topics, however, like infertility, miscarriages, IVF so it wasn’t entirely focused on entertainment only, which was interesting to read about. (i’m not entirely informed on the topics mentioned above so i can’t judge -immediately- whether the fats mentioned were accurate or not)

all in all, very breezy, amusing and mildly forgettable but it’s not an extreme flaw, so there’s that.

This book is such a cute and fun read! The book touches on the emotional aspect of IVF: the struggles and the joy. I love that Gemma was able to find a group of friends to help support her through the process. I love how Josh was there for Gemma every step of the way. You could really see their love for each other and how they each struggled to admit their love. I enjoyed Gemma’s self reflection and her overall internal conflict regarding her feelings for Josh. The drawings were such a nice touch to the book and made the ending even cuter. The book had a little bit of spice and some great banter. If you love cute happy endings, you’ll love this book.
