I enjoyed The Beach House Summer which is told through the point of view of three different women.
This is a story of love, heartbreak, friendship, starting again and community.
Joanna was married to celebrity chef and serial womaniser Cliff Whitman and after 20 years of marriage she finally divorces him.

Ashley is the passenger in Cliff’s car during a fateful crash where she manages to survive but Cliff does not.
News of Cliff's death makes the headlines and Ashely is identified as the passenger and is rumoured to be pregnant with his child.

In an attempt to avoid the relentless attention from the media that both women will inevitably face, to Ashley's astonishment, Joanna suggests they escape together to her beach house in the small home town that she left two decades ago.
Joanna’s secluded beach house sounds like the perfect place to escape too with a private beach and envious coastal views.
As the two women hide away from the media’s lens, an unlikely friendship begins to blossom with the two each teaching other new things.
Melanie is Joanna’s childhood friend but they two haven’t seen each other for 20 years until Mel spots Joanna on a rock after an early swim and decides to drop by unannounced.
This is a cosy read, particularly when the story moves to the small town where the friendships blossom and the community spirit is so strong.

My only gripe is that I wish we’d got to know more about the community and see Joanna blossom more here.

Thank you HQ and NetGalley for the ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely book this was to read. Nothing complicated, just a great storyline with great characters that you enjoy reading what happens to them.

This story is written from 3 points of views:

Joanna - Divorced from a celebrity chef Cliff who unfortunately dies in a car accident

Ashley - a young 20 year old who was in the car with the celebrity chef during the car accident.

Melanie - Joanna's childhood friend who haven't seen or spoken to each other for a number of years.

The story develops into Joanna and Ashley supporting each other in Joannas old hometown. A hometown where community comes together to protect and look after each other regardless how many years it has been.

Having only just discovered Sally Morgan a few months ago, I've realised how quickly you become invested in her Characters and story. From the first Chapter you want to know more. A great book that you won't want to put down.

This was an advanced copy from netgalley for my honest review

This is another lovely story from Sarah Morgan, primarily looking at the relationship between Joanna and teenage Ashley following the death of Joanna’s celebrity chef ex-husband Cliff.

If you break down the plot, nothing outrageous happens, it really is just about a summer at the beach house but the dynamics of all the characters make for a warm and enjoyable read.

One thing I particularly liked was the lack of silly misunderstandings, there’s no ‘she catches him in the arms of another woman and leaves but the other woman was his sister’ type nonsense; here a thing happens and the characters behave like actual adults and work it through by talking. I feel that because of this, it’s a very realistic exploration of relationships - even if the life of a celebrity isn’t every day for most people.

I read it on a windy and snowy Saturday, curled up on the sofa and it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

I struggled slightly with this one.
I loved the setting and would book a trip to otters nest in a heart beat, I enjoyed that it was told from multiple POVs but I just didn’t enjoy the plot or anything about Cliff and his ways. I understand a lot of people deal with men (or women) like this but just my personal preference I don’t find it fun to read about

Thank you to netgally for this copy in exchange for an honest review. I have read books by this author before and enjoyed them and this was no exception. I lovef this book. It followed the story of Joanna who left her home town behind 20 years ago to follow her husband. Circumstances bring her back where she re discovers old friends and the local community. A great story with some romance but lots of other themes along the way. Definitely recommend as a feel good bit of escapism.

This has been an interesting read, I read a lot of books and can usually tell within the first dozen or so pages if I’m going to enjoy a book. Sarah Morgan has been one of my favourite authors for a long time so I was excited to be accepted to read this new one.

I’ll admit I found the start a little slow and if it had been any other author I probably wouldn’t have continued….. but but I’m glad I did, what a fantastic read!, I love the characters in the book, lots of depth and the flow of the story once I got into it had me hooked.

I would recommend this to all my friends…. Another fab book from Sarah Morgan.

Joanna and Mel meet up after two decades of estrangement. at the coastal town of Silver Point. Mel never

left and now Joanna returns, reluctantly after the death of her ex-husband, womanizer. Cliff.

Much water has passed under the bridge as they try to reconcile. alongside Ashley, old friends, and neighbours.

Secrets are revealed as everyone tries to forge a kinder future and achieve some kind of closure.

Life is complicated but Joanna is resilient and makes relationships work, Old misunderstandings must be

addressed in this positive and realistic story..

You are never disappointed with a Sarah Morgan novel; although as she has written so many I do often cross my fingers when starting her latest hoping she hasn't run out of steam, and she hasn't yet!. You know you are getting a romantic story that will inevitably end well but her books are not fluff.
As usual this book is full of interesting, likeable characters set against a beautiful backdrop. The main characters are intelligent and strong women with a unique story for whom romance is the icing on the cake.
I don't know how she does it but I can't wait for this writer's next book.

A fantastic story where you can really relate to the main characters and feel their emotions through the journey. I was transfixed and couldn't read it quick enough!

This book is fantastic. I'm very much a romance type of reader however the romance came second in this book, I loved the way the characters were giving rach other confidence and acceptance.

So this is the story of Joanna who was married to a celebrity chef (Cliff). Cliff dies in a car crash with a young woman as a passenger. This is the story of Joanna's relationship with the young woman and moving back to her home town and the relationships she left behind.

Review of Beach House Summer by Sarah Morgan.

I am a huge fan of this author, and it has come to be that summer wouldn't be summer without a new Sarah Morgan book to read. As normal this story doesn't disappoint and is the perfect summer read. Great characters and a lovely story line. Definitely a must read for the summer. Highly recommended

Another 5 star read by Sarah Morgan. She is definitely a auto buy author for me and I loved this book.

The story had me gripped from page one and the pacing kept me wanting to read more and more. The plot was wonderful and easy to follow which made for an enjoyable read

I quickly became engrossed in this story - I liked the characters and the story moved smoothly if predictably.

Joanna has been marked by her marriage to a serial womaniser who even in death did not free her from the press intrusion. She takes under her protection the young lady in the car with her ex-husband. She is alone and pregnant. Both flee back to Joanna’s birthplace to recover and move forward. For both this involves confronting their pasts and learning to live differently.

Heartfelt and heart warming.

One I will recommend and I shall look out for Sarah Morgan in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was engaged from the start and just wanted it to carry on. I have read books by this author before but found this one to be the best I've read to date, it just seemed to flow along at a nice pace with a good plot. A real sunny summer read, light enough to relax with on holiday but also had many twists and turns with enough going on to keep the reader interested. The characters were well drawn, both main and peripheral, and totally believable in a delightful setting with an engaging storyline in a quiet place on the Californian coast.

I loved this story. The characters are so real and this story could be based on true life events it is so well written. I am not going to say anything of the story line as I feel I would give too much away.
I could not put this book down and read it with in day.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
