I have read and enjoyed several of Sarah Morgan's books and I always look forward to her new titles, and 'Beach House Summer' didn't disappoint. The story is told from the perspectives of two of the main characters. When Joanna's ex-husband his killed in a car crash, she takes pity on his companion, knowing how harsh the media can be. Joanna suggests to Ashley they hide away at her beach house and Ashley, pregnant and penniless, agrees. Joanna has not been back to the house (where she grew up) for many years - her return re-opens old wounds but heals others. Ashley has a secret, and worries telling Joanna the truth will destroy their new friendship and make her own situation ever harder... A perfect escapist read, great for a holiday or quiet afternoon in the garden - I read in one weekend.

This is without a shadow of doubt one of the best Sarah Morgan books I've read. The drama, the love interests, the plot, the ex - all brilliant. I love the location of the book and hope this is the start of a series based around the town. I've fallen in love with Silver Point and its inhabitants and I really want to know more of the stories. Joanna, Mel and Ashley are all so adorable.

A great holiday read and made me want to be on the beach and not just reading about it. Likeable characters and the story kept moving and kept me interested.

Since I was kindly allowed to read an ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion, I do have to admit that I found the whole story extremely predictable, boring and unlikely, the characters unlikeable, wooden and self-centred. The American author‘s language is way too simplistic for my taste.

Sarah Morgtan does not diappoint and this book is no exception. Walking away form efvrything you know at te age of 20 and living life in the reflected limelight of your husband. Privacy invaded as his affairs are public knowledge and then you divorce. Still you do ot get the privacy you crave until his death unearths a secret. Running back to hide out in your old home town.
Frienship are rekindled and new ties are strrenghtend.
Enjoy Otters Creek and the surrounding town.

I wasn't immediately impressed.

I have previously enjoyed Morgan's books but this one felt slow.

As I kept reading, the plot became better and happily stuck with it.

A little slow in the beginning, but this just allowed the characters to form and grow.. As this story of friendship, trust and second chances unfolds, so we learn why Joanna ran away from her childhood home town of Silver Point, her friends, Mel and Nate and everything else she knew and loved. Twenty years later she returns running away again but this time from intrusive journalists.
I struggled to understand some of Joanna’s decisions but this story kept me reading and always hoping for a happy ending.
A great summer read.

A five star book no doubt about that. Another cracking read from Sarah Morgan.
Joanna Whitman lives a very private life after divorcing her celebrity chef husband Cliff. She has tried to keep out of the public eye after Cliff had numerous affairs.
Ashley has something important she has to tell Cliff that will change his life forever! When tragedy strikes Joanna and Ashley are suddenly pushed together returning to Silver Point where Joanna grew up and never went back to twenty years ago.
Mel is married to Greg and has a daughter Eden and helps to run The Surf Cafe with her twin brother Nate.
Mel and Joanna were best friends until Joanna’s relationship ended with Nate.
Can Joanna go back in time and try to mend her broken heart and avoid being in the limelight again.
I absolutely loved every page of this relaxing summer book full of beaches and swimming in the surf.
I’m a real romantic at heart so nothing better than a good story of love, family and friendship. It left me feeling satisfied that the story was complete.
Thanks you NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this book.

I absolutely love this book!

The relationship between the two main characters was very well written, I loved the setting and it really made a difference reading about a friend/parent relationship than the usual romantic one.

The perfect summer read, I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this story of loss, love= and friendship - I particularly liked the relationship that develops between the two main characters as well as the story of old friendships revisited. Warm, funny and ultimately life affirming.

I am a long term Sarah Morgan reader and every book she releases I generally read within the following few months. Beach House Summer sounded like a another hit for me after enjoying The Summer Seekers so I thought I'd jump in and see what happens.

I found Beach House Summer was a little up and down for me. The first 25% and last 25% I really enjoyed. It felt like a lot was going on and I was intrigued to keep reading. The middle chunk felt a little slow for my liking and the characters started to feel boring. Overall I think my experience of the middle chunk has impacted my rating, which is a shame because the writing and visualisation for the whole book was great. It was the activity in the plot which has had an affect.

I'll still be picking up Sarah Morgan's books but this one wasn't my favourite of hers.

I read this as a group buddy read and I really enjoyed it!

It was a very easy read and I felt connected to the characters. I could see the setting and was invested in all their interlinked relationships.

I loved the completeness of the ending (can’t say too much more about that without spoiling anything).

I would recommend this book, I gave it a 4/4 stars.

A new start for two women. When Joanna hears that her famous ex-husband has died, she realises that the press will hound both her and the pregnant girl he was with when he died. She decides to find a way to prevent this, as she feels sorry for his girlfriend. Another good summer read from Sarah Morgan, full of warmth and empathy.

Different covers for different places but still take a look
For this is another fantastic read, a brilliant book!
Joanna Whitman's ex-husband is a celebrity, its true,
But that shouldn't mean the media want to follow her life, too.
However, when he dies in a car accident the media frenzy starts
Anyone would think that for more than a year they'd been apart.

The fact that a young woman, Ashley, is in the car at that time
Isn't a shock at all and it definitely isn't a crime.
But what was she doing there, especially as she's pregnant, too?
She obviously needs help but what can Joanna do?
They've never met before so can they learn to trust?
And is return to her hometown what Joanna must?

What a lovely read this proved to be
With family drama, history and mystery.
A story of decisions made that you learnt to regret
And a first love that you'll never forget.
Their reactions to intrusive media play their part
In these characters learning to follow their heart.

However, the community shines through
Looking after their own is just what they do.
Learning you're actually loved can be a surprise
Especially when you've been facing so many lies.
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
Such a gorgeous read and this is my honest review.

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.

This book follows Joanna Whitman as she discovers her chef ex-husband has been killed in an accident.

When she sees that he was with a young lady when he died, she makes the decision to meet her and what follows will change their lives forever.

With emotions Joanna feels unable to deal with and to escape the press she takes this young lady, Ashley to her own hometown of Silver Point where she grew up.

Will Joanna reconnect with friends she left behind in the past? How will she deal with her torn emotions?

I loved reading this book, it was amazing from start to finish. Not only was there plenty of drama, but there was also friendship and romance too.

I adored the friendship that builds between Joanna and Ashley; it is unexpected, but it is so wonderful to read.

There are very strong female characters, although they may not feel they are strong in the story. The way the characters deal with situations they are put in and how they grow throughout just shows how strong you can be through anything.

Overall, an uplifting and emotional drama and romance, showing that relationships can grow in the unlikeliest of situations.

Thoroughly delighted with this engaging read & it’s one you can lose yourself in as I couldn’t put it down.
Beautifully written with wonderful characters that draw you in.
The perfect blend of drama love & friendships this is fiction at its best.
This is a story of second chances & new beginnings that is being told from two perspectives.
Joanna is a 40 year old woman who was recently divorced from a celebrity chef by the name of Cliff Whitman, for his cheating ways.
Having strived to stay out of the lime light as regards the media they are now camped on her doorstep.
The news as broken about her ex husband being in a car accident & that he has died.
Also in the car was a young pregnant girl who nobody seems to know anything about other than she was taken to hospital,
She also knows now that the press have got hold of the story they will hound both her & this young girl for all it’s worth.
She needs to find a way to get her & the young girl named Ashley away from the media so they can sort out their lives & what it entails.
They need to disappear & Joanna thinks she may just know the place to do that.
A wonderful book I would highly recommend & ideal if you are looking for a good summer read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I didn’t want this book to end.

Joanna was married to a well-known Chef, Cliff Whitman. But he cheated on her for most of their married life until she left him and got a divorce.

Then after a year he’s dead, and the media turn up at her residence. Cliff died in a car accident and at the time there was a young girl with him, Joanna knows her.

Joanna is aware of what is going to happen next for Ashley, the girl who was in the car better than others, and she hears in the news coverage that Ashley is pregnant. But who is the father, is it Cliff?

She decides to help Ashley and they both go to Silver Point where there is a hidden beach house, Joanna’s childhood home.

But, is that the best place to go, especially as she’s not been since leaving with Cliff, after ending things with her boyfriend, and leaving her best friend, his twin sister.

Will she be able to avoid those that were once close to her?

I Recommend This Book.

Delightful read from Sarah Morgan.

A story told from two perspectives - Joanna who is 40 and divorced for a year and Ashley, who isn't even 20 but has a whole lot on her plate.

A story about second chances, new beginnings and fresh starts. A reminder that complicated pasts don't necessarily need to mean complicated futures.
