Sleep deprived and overwhelmed, first-time mom Jenn is struggling to adapt to her new role. Frustrated with her loving but preoccupied husband and still grieving the death of her own mother, she feels isolated and depressed. It’s only when she joins a new-moms’ group that she starts to think she’s finally getting back on track.
Until Isabel, the group’s leader, suddenly disappears. The characters are well-drawn and believable. The plot is perfectly paced, holds your interest, and keeps you guessing. It’s a page turner, for sure!

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I think this will quickly become a must read for Summer 2022! I could not put the book down - from the very first page I was hooked! The suspense throughout keeps you reading 'just one more page' as you want to find out what is going to happen. I can’t wait to read more by Kathleen Willett!

This may be Kathleen Willett’s debut novel, but she writes like she has been in the domestic suspense world for years. A great book for any thrill lover.

Mother of All Secrets by Kathleen M. Willett was a thriller that highlighted the problem of postpartum depression among new mothers. I can definitely relate to becoming instantly dependent on a new moms group for your sanity when you feel completely isolated and yet 100% attached to another human. Very twisty and an unpredictable ending!

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review...Talk about secrets...talk about surprises...this book is pack full of both. "Her freedom, her sanity, her life...how much will a young mother sacrifice to protect her secrets?" The focus in this book lies on new mothers...their babies...sometimes the author is just too forthcoming about the facts of childbirth and new babies...however, that is just for me, the elderly reader who is squeamish about reading these things...the newer, younger generation won't blink an eye. The important thing to remember when reading this story is that is reads like a true tale...something that could happen in everyday life in any city anywhere...I guessed part of the outcome...not all of it...so there you have it...surprises even for the established reviewer and mystery reader. This is a don't miss novel...this author has woven a tale that is a great read...take your time...don't rush...savor every word...because this could be happening to someone you know. I can't wait to read more books by this talented and gifted author...amazing...

Mother Of All Secrets is a story of a new mom who decides to join a mothers group after the birth of her daughter. Soon after our main protagonist joins, the leader of the mothers group goes missing. I was able to read part of this book with a physical copy (which was sent from the author herself). She included a lovely note, also. The other part of the book I read via NetGalley on my kindle.

I found Mother Of All Secrets to be an overall good book. There were lots of plot twists, and aspects to motherhood that I found relatable. I love a good thriller, especially one involving friendships. I also appreciated the author bringing important societal issues to the table in this one. Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced electronic copy. The author was also very kind so send me a signed physical copy.

I am a huge lover of thrillers so I was really excited to start reading this one. The beginning sucked me right in and I felt for Jenn as she navigated the struggles of early motherhood. But about halfway through I found myself getting a bit bored. It started to feel repetitive with Jenn constantly talking about how tired she was and I felt it was strange how much time she spent obsessing over Isabel’s disappearance given that they barely knew each other. I still think this was an entertaining debut novel and would read other books this author may put out in the future.

This a debut novel by Kathleen Willett. It is a mystery set in the upper west side of New York where a woman’s group brings together five new first time mothers but the women share more than just their recent motherhood. I enjoyed the book immensely and it’s tackling of the challenges facing new mothers. However the mystery which was initially intriguing grew increasingly convoluted as the story progresses. This was a pity as the book had (begun so well. The book should do well though and many readers will enjoy it. It just fell slightly short of a five star read for me.

I highly enjoyed this read! This was my first of the authors, but I will definitely be on the lookout for more. Fast paced thriller that will keep you reading past your bedtime.

Mother of All Secrets
A Novel
by Kathleen M. Willett

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Lake Union Publishing, and by #NetGalley. The opinions expressed are completely my own.
I just could not get into the book. It dragged slowly. I became confused with so many characters. It was just the end, the end did nothing for me. I seemed odd and just seemed all the book the ending fell.

This is a story about new mothers and a group of women who get together to gain support. Jenn is a new mom with a recent loss of her mom and her husband is not as involved as she needs. When one of the women in the group goes missing it adds more stress to the group of women. Is there more to the story? The big mystery is how the missing woman not front page news?
This is an interesting story with an unexpected turn or two before you get to the end.
Thank you netgalley for complimentary copy.

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley - thank you! This was a gripping book from the outset - the characters felt real / believable to me and definitely made me a bit scared of motherhood! It was a twist-y tale, and while you may think you'll be able to predict a few of the plot twists, I was definitely surprised at the end. I think it was well executed and I'd recommend this book to any thriller / mystery fans who are searching for a quick read!

A rollercoaster of emotions that run through as Jenn takes up through the first few weeks of new motherhood and and all its challanges. Throw in a missing possibly dead friend and you have a fast pased book that you will not put down. Loved the raw and real feelings that Kathleen has potrayed through each of the charaters. Lots of little twists and turns, a few that are dark keep you hooked till the end. A well written book that touched me personally too as a mother. The author has woven in domestic abuse, rape and postpartem depression and given it due acknowlegment too. Thank you Netgalley for this advanced reader copy. I really loved it. Looking forward to more amazing books from Kathleen.

No one gets how much I enjoy reading about mom drama. The story was very engaging and immersive and I didn't feel bored throughout reading it!

This book instantly drew me in. Jenn is a new mom and struggling to adjust to her newborn and her new life after baby. She joins a mom's group with fellow new moms Kira, Isabel, Vanessa, and Selena. Their weekly meetings are a way to get out and connect but it seems pretty superficial. When Isabel goes missing, Jenn becomes ridiculously obsessed with investigating her disappearance. As we learn more about each member of the group, including Jenn, we learn that they are all tied together in an unexpected way and it is not by accident that they ended up in the same mom's group.

I was engaged in the story and although I guessed some of the plot elements, I was still surprised by the main twists and the ending left me satisfied. Would definitely recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre : domestic thriller
Okayyyyyy, this one was pretty crazy! Just when I thought I saw where it was going, another twist was thrown in.
New mom Jenn is overwhelmed with motherhood. Looking for friends who are in the trenches with her she joins a mom support group in her neighborhood. Shit quickly gets crazy when one of her new friends from the group goes missing…
Secrets, lies, and murder - this book has it all.
It definitely kept me hooked and turning those pages.
Look for this one out in June! Thanks, @Netgalley !

Well this is a tricky one because the premise of the book is very promising and the first few chapters of the book started great, with a balanced element of suspense and narration...
But as the pages went on.., the story stalled further and the I started to easily lose interest. I eventually struggled to finish it.
I'm a huge fan of thrillers and specifically psych-thrillers considering my background, which led me to read so many books within this category... but this particular story lacked a tight plot and a matching writing style that would support it. I expected a lot more from it, and maybe I needed to decreased my expectations to enjoy this book better.
Overall, I really appreciated the premise and the idea of the main character being an exhausted new mom. I also appreciated the chapters structure, representing several days, almost like diary entries.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
