My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Received for review: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review, nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

Why did I decide to turn the pages? I got a copy of this one to review a long time ago, and it fell through the cracks. So I'm late in getting to this one. At the time, the book was liked by many people I enjoyed, and I thought the concept was interesting. Many years later, it still caught my eye.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: There were parts I really enjoyed, some I didn't. Overall, I thought this was a great, thought-provoking read. I'm glad I read it.

Major Strengths: Chelsea's growth and development. Hannah's look into how we use our voice (in silence and by speaking) was really intriguing. The book presented a lot of questions and was thought-provoking. I really enjoyed Hannah as a character. I thought the character development and growth were well done.

Major Weaknesses: The first third of the book with its writing wasn't my favorite. Chelsea was a bit annoying at first as was the voice and mean-girl antics. However, that did quickly change.

So why 3.5 stars? Better than average. Not quite a 4, but good.

Content: drinking, references to drugs, violence, LGBTQIA+ hate/homophobia, some tame sexual references, some tame language

Age level: for older teens.

Love,

Danica Page

I requested this title back before my blogging break. I have ended up with a number of titles that are overwhelming to catch up on now I am back from my blogging break. I am regretfully not going to be reading and reviewing this title, but now I am back from my blogging break, I am looking forward to reading and reviewing some of your future titles. Thank you so much for the opportunity and apologies.

I received this book free for an honest review from Netgalley.

This is another one I have been stashing and not reading for years 😬. So I finally got to it and it was really good. I like thats it’s a LBGTQ book with characters of the same. I liked the whole concept of the story and I like that the main character admitted her mistakes and grew from them.
I thought the “diner friends” were adorable and I want to work there! I found the characters relatable and I liked them. The story was cute and well paced.

I would recommend this story to everyone.

This sounded like a good story but when I tried to read it, the character was too young for me to connect with and I couldn't finish it so I DNF'd pretty early on in the book.

Speechless wasn’t a bad book, to be honest, but it was a little underwhelming. It was such a short book, and a lot happened in those 200 or so pages, that I felt almost disconnected from the story. It did make for a really quick read, though, which is what I was after.

I liked Chelsea, the main character, well enough. There was a lot of character growth there, which is always a sign of a decent book. She acknowledges that she stays silent for far too long, and she also learnt from her mistakes. The protest itself was silly, really, so I’m glad that it played out the way it did in terms of Chelsea’s character growth. Also, Chelsea was attractive and she knew it. It was really nice to read about a main character who knew she was good looking. I love that confidence.

I am probably going to remember the beginning with the assault more than anything. This isn’t the most memorable book but it definitely had bits that will stick with me.

This was a cute book... made me feel a bit old and out of the teenage gossip loop (thank heavens) but the main character was pretty great and it was a pretty quick read.
