Wow...kept me guessing from beginning to the very end. Some truly horrible characters that are written very well.

I found this book a bit of a slow starter but once I got into it I quite enjoyed it. A cross between a psychological thriller and a John Grisham with the emotional drama added into the mix.

One fateful evening, Lucy and Shay walk into a lift. Seven minutes later, one woman makes a phone call, saying that the lift is stuck, and no, the other woman can’t come to the phone right now... A thrilling read that had me gripped from start to finish!

This is a Sealed room style psychological thriller, one of crime fiction’s oldest tropes, and one that appeals to many, for good reason. There is so much to love about books that fall into this category; seemingly impossible circumstances, abundant supply of red herrings, multiple twists and turns. Seven Minutes Later is no exception. It has it all.

I found the characters to be believable and well rounded, I loved the kookiness and intelligence of the female protagonist. I even enjoyed the legal jargon!

Interesting story with all the legal twists, turns and arguments. Obviously you know that if there is one woman present when another dies, she's either witness or killer. Which one is it? A page turner. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

The description of this book led me to pick it although I don't usually enjoy Amercan law novels. After the first 10% I nearly gave up as I didn't understand the USA law system or Warm to Shay as a character. However I went back to the description and decided to perserve. I'm so glad I did. I really got into it and grew to admire Shay even if I didn't like her so much. I loved how she handles what is thrown at her. The ending is not clear but for once I think that's OK as it fits with the ups and downs of the whole book. Give it a go, I'm sure it will grip you too.

It's a pretty open and shut case. Two women go into a lift and one is shot and dies. It's either suicide or murder, but which?

There's twists and turns aplenty in this book which digs into the murky background of the corporate underbelly. I did find the ending a little bit of a let down and not fully thought through, but the rest of the book was so good, I didn't really mind.

What a crazy read! Two women of completely different backgrounds meet in an elevator at their workplace, which sets in motion an unexpected chain of events ending with the demise of one of them. Surprising and exhilarating!

Too full of descriptions of how the American legal system works for me . The death takes place within the first couple of pages, and the book further follows the lives of the two women and the business. It did not really hold my interest

Unfortunately this wasn’t my cup of tea, I had to give up halfway through as it was hard to understand. In my opinion this was more of a legal thriller, I was looking forward to reading this but was disappointed as it was not what I expected.

With her trial lawyer experience before her Bonnie Kistler certainly has the added skill of writing. This book is very well written which is proved when all ( well certainly most) of the legal terms and issues are easy to understand. The characters were fascinating especially Shay Lambert who knew how to keep the plates spinning!
A super clever intelligent book which I will be delighted to recommend.

A very good read with some good characters. I liked the story. 4*.

Lucy and Shay work in a Manhattan highrise at Claudine de Martineau International (CDMI). Lucy is the head of the HR department and Shay is a lawyer. One night they both leave their offices and enter the elevator. Something happens and only one of them leaves the elevator alive. Now what has to be decided is was this suicide or a murder. As soon as I read the synopsis for this book I really wanted to read it, the whole idea sounded like it would make a great story and it did.

I found this legal thriller totally entertaining and was completely engrossed in the story, when I should have been sleeping I was still reading, always the sign of a good book. All characters played important roles in how this scenario evolves and I particularly liked Shay.. She is not leading an easy life but somehow manages to roll with the punches. The plot had depth and there was plenty of suspense to keep the reader engaged throughout.

I had not heard of Bonnie Kistler before but I will definitely be looking out for more books by her, Highly recommended. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Two women in a lift. On a Sunday night. Nobody else around. The lift stops. Only one will survive. But which one? And why?

I really enjoyed this book. I did occasionally get a bit befuddled with the legal side of what was going on, but managed to work out the gist enough to follow the story. Interesting premise and the reader is shot straight into the story from page 1. Some likeable and not so likeable characters made for a great mix and a strong storyline. Definitely worth a read!

Overall enjoyable, just found that there were a few too many characters to keep track of who was who and what they did at times.

It felt fresh and original, even when dealing with well-worn topics like corruption and trumped-up murder charges. I never quite knew where the story was headed next, which made it all the more exciting.

Had me gripped till the end!
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
