#TheWrongSuitcase by #laurajanewilliams is a short and sweet story of lost luggage and the inevitable meet-up to swop…. many thanks to #netgalley for gifting me an #arc in exchange for an honest review
This book was so lovely to listen to. It was very very warm and cozy
I really enjoyed the audiobook. I really enjoy listening to audiobooks that are not of the thriller genre. I find thrillers hard to follow, but this genre is great to listen to.
I really enjoy this authors work.
I wanted a quick rom-com that would get me out of a slump, and The Wrong Suitcase was the one!
This is a listen-in-one-night novella, which was perfect for me. It’s super cute, super frustrating – when you want the characters to meet but due to an unfortunate series of circumstances they keep missing each other! – and super short. Izzy and Sam had great chemistry and great personalities; I hoped they’d find their suitcases!
This book was sadly not for me, as the book was, I felt, slow paced with little happening. Moreover, it was filled with internal monologues and descriptions which were sadly irritating. I couldn't connect with the characters, however hope all those who read it enjoyed it.
Laura Jane Williams is an auto buy author for me! I've loved everything of hers I have read and this short novella is no exception.
Honestly I want so much more of this, to hear more of Izzy and Sam's story. Not because the novella wasn't enough but because it was so good I want more!
This was a nice quick and easy listen. It definitely made me want to go on holiday 😭 but I didn't really feel attached to the characters - maybe because it was a short story? I'm not sure. But I love Laura's writing so I'll be sure to read her next one.
Another book I didn't download in time but borrow box came to the rescue. It is definitely worth a review here anyway.
Great romance story and so believable. A good light read
Who knew you could gets so many feels from a novella? Laura Jane Williams is certainly a master of the romcom and with the author herself narrating The Wrong Suitcase, it was an extra special listen.
This was a very funny and enjoyable novella. I listened to the audiobook and rather enjoyed listening to it. I thought the story line was great. I loved the narrator voice. However the narrator didn't really create a male voice and this lead to me being rather confused as I didn't know if it was a male or female talking. This did indeed lead to me getting lost at times and therefore I didn't fully connect with the book. For that reason I would definitely recommend the book over the audiobook as it was a really great story which I found myself laughing out loud to at times. I did enjoy the characters and found myself really liking them. I thought the author was very clever at creating the characters with only short descriptions of them creating a very good lighthearted short novel. I just loved the humour in this book it was a fantastic break from the norm book and im looking forward to reading more from this author.
Many thanks to the author and publishing team for creating this very whitty book that I'm sure will lift the mood of any reader.

This is a short novella which is narrated by the author herself.
Laura Jane Williams has a lovely narrating voice and draws you right in.
Izzy and Sam are attending the same wedding but accidentally end up with each other’s suitcase, the novella follows each of their story to try and get their own suitcase back.
A great light hearted read.
Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK audio for the ARC in return for my honest review.
The Wrong Suitcase by Laura Jane Williams is set at a destination wedding, with Lizzie and Sam ending up with each other's suitcases, and the hilarity that ensues.
This is a lovely novella, with beautiful descriptions of Italy, and a big dollop of romance. I listened to the audiobook, and so enjoyed listening to Laura Jane Williams reading her book. If you're looking for something to transport you, then this is great!
The Wrong Suitcase was published on 12th February 2022, and is available from Amazon as an e-book and as an audiobook, read by the author.

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to HarperCollins UK.
This was a fun and sweet novella. I could totally see this fleshed out into a movie script at some point. In such a short period of time, Williams managed to create clear and concise characters that felt very original.
An easy listen. Loved how it was narrated by Laura Jane Williams.
Imagine going to the wedding of the year in Tuscany. Newly single, primed and and ready for the wedding of the year till disaster strikes. The wrong suitcase but by chance the cases have the same codes to unlock.
Can the rightful owners be reunited and can pieces of hearts be given to each other?
As she touches down in Italy, Izzy is excited to be in Italy for her friend's wedding at a lavish Tuscan castle. She gets to her room and opens her bag, only to realize it is not her suitcase, it belongs to a man. Meanwhile, on the morning of his best friend’s wedding, Sam unzips his luggage to find make-up palettes and bikinis. When they finally meet up, it doesn't take long for the heat to begin. This is a novella, so it was quick. There was humor, insta-love and forgiveness. I enjoyed this short story and was sorry to see the story end. This is one that I would have liked more of. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook, The author’s narration was wonderful and I loved her accent!!
I'm really sad that I didn't love this novella, I thought it would be a bit of light escapism but it was all a bit boring and eye-roll worthy really. I also couldn't get past the narrator on this one as for some reason she really triggered my misophonia with the pausing and tongue clicking after every 'and' - I have NEVER had that in an audio book before!
So for me it wasn't love.
I put this audio on while I cleared my bed room and enjoyed the quick pace of the story. I liked that we got both characters points of view and there was great humour. Perfect afternoon listen!
I’m a big fan of Laura Jane Williams’ books, I especially enjoyed the Lucky Escape when I read it a few months ago, so jumped at the chance to read this romance novella. Light hearted and an easy read (listen).
I really enjoyed the story but in all honesty I didn’t warm to any of the characters, I found them a bit irritating so that made me enjoy this a bit less.
I wasn’t mad on the narration, I thought it was full of emotion and character, and really elevated the story.
Overall an enjoyable short listen that I’d recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins Audio and Laura Jane Williams for an Audio-ARC in return for an honest review
Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy of this book. I enjoyed listening to this on audiobook. It’s a lovely, cute short story which takes you away on a short, holiday romance. I like the authors humour, lots of little funny one liners here and there. I would recommend.
This is a book narrated by the author herself, and she did an excellent job. It is a novella, a thing I realised only halfway into the narrative. Despite its length, I found myself feeling like I got a whole book worth of romance.
We have two lead characters who have alternating chapters to voice their own feelings about the ongoing events. Izzy is at her friend's destination wedding as a single eligible person, as is Sam, but he is more recently single. Both of their paths cross with a misdirected suitcase. The events are not very original but simply told and hilarious when you hear them happening. I could feel their respective frustration as well.
Izzy and Sam are nice people, making it easy to cheer up their meeting and subsequent getting together. It was a quick listen, and I would listen to any other book narrated by the author because that was the best part of the work; it really brought the narrative to life, as did the accents. Their supporting casts of friends and family were highly entertaining, adding a lot of colour and flavour to the plotline.
I obviously cannot write a review longer than the work, so I will stop with the fact that I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick romantic read/listen.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own listening experience.
Love a book set in Tuscany? All you need for proper romance is the wrong suitcase and a terrific Tuscan setting for a beautiful wedding! Right?
Izzy has just broken up with her beau and descends on the hotel. Birchy (no idea how you spell that as I listened to this as an audiobook), otherwise known as Sam, has suddenly become single. They each have a very similar suitcase and of course they get switched somewhere along the line! Sam is alerted to the young woman in Room 12, who just might have his suitcase, but she isn’t responding to his desperate calls (of course she is busy with friends, borrowing hair styling accoutrements, drinking fizz and whatnot). He has the misfortune of having to give a wedding speech in, um, well, in a set of cobbled together clothes (some of them not so fancy!) but of course that acts like a beacon to the girlie group who determines he must be the swappee.
I leave it to your imagination where this story might go, given that the novella is billed as heart-warming and ideal for a Valentine’s Day read. No spoilers from me!
I listened to it as an audiobook and the author, who competently reads her own work, is clearly an enthusiastic narrator, and assumes suitable voices for the characters. She obviously had fun doing this project. For me, at times, it felt a little over-excitable (Izzy sometimes sounded like a mix of Julies Walters’ Rosie in Mama Mia and Keira Knightley’s Juliet in Love Actually, sort of nasal with a bit of a condescending air) but that is purely a reflection of my taste.
A neat way to spend a couple of hours pretending you are attending a wedding in Tuscany. And if you don’t get to go in person, then all you have to do is read a novel set in Tuscany….
