The Wrong Suitcase by Laura Jane Williams was adorable! It’s my favorite 2022 novella. It was a great story with lots of wonderful moments. Sam and Izzy were well developed and precious. If you love a good novella then this is the one for you. I loved everything about it and highly recommend.
I chose to listen to this book on audio and the author narrated this and she should do narrating full time! She was that good.

I couldn’t have picked a better day to listen to this novella! Valentine’s Day! Short and sweet story, with no unnecessary messing about. Adored both of the characters and really appreciated northern accents being thrown in. Great story!

When Sam and Izzy both show up at a wedding in Italy, disaster has struck and both of them have someone else’s case. The book that follows encompasses the hilarious passings that tell the story of them finding not just their cases but potentially more than they bargained for as well. Was it fate all along? ✈️

I listened to this on audiobook and I was hooked! Laura Jane Williams has done it again 🤩 I usually can’t stick with audiobooks but this was the opposite and I found myself giggling along in the car. This was such an easy, heart warming read that has sunshine leaping off the page! The only problem with a novella is I always want more from the characters and wish it was longer! However, this was a fab book to tide me over until May for ‘One Night With You’. 💞

This is 95p as an ebook at the moment or you can listen to the audio book like I did. Either way, it’s a must add addition to your bookshelf for Valentine’s Day 🥰

What a fun and delightful read this novella was! I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook, the author did a great job narrating it. The story was heart-warming and put a smile on my face. Some misunderstandings definitely could’ve been resolved easier, but then it would’ve been over a lot sooner and not as fun. Despite the short length the author was able to create charming and likeable characters, and I had a great time following along. I wish it was longer, because the ending left me wanting more—however, it did end on a perfect note, and I loved the last scene! I guess the rest is left up to our imagination :)

"You know the only thing better than going on holiday? Planning a holiday."

When you lose your luggage, the last thing you expect to find is love…

Two people attending a wedding in a lavish Tuscan castle realise their suitcases are all wrong. In place of his shirts are makeup-palettes and bikinis and instead of her dresses, her bag now holds shirts and chinos. Could a fateful meeting to switch their bags back be the start of something special?

Izzy, a pre-school teacher has broken up with her boyfriend and is now attending her BFF’s wedding without a plus-one. Sam, a pediatric surgeon, and the groom’s friend, is nursing a broken heart after his date cancelled on him on the morning of their departure. With his family also in attendance, he can’t bear their sad, sympathetic glances. Having their identical suitcases switched hours before the wedding does not help the situation.

A cute story, it takes about three hours to listen to. As a novella, there isn’t room for much conflict and the story is fairly straight forward but it has its moments. It is exasperating to see them continuously miss each other right until the actual ceremony when one of them ends up making a toast dressed in casuals.

I enjoyed the author’s reading more than the story itself. The humour in her voice and the witty exchange between Izzy and Sam was entertaining.

This is like a quick getaway from your… er… TBR? Or good company when you have chores to finish. And of course, it reminds you of all the reasons why weddings are so fun.

Such a sweet little love story but with real heat as well! What a nightmare losing one’s suitcase but imagine for such an occasion as a wedding !
I didn’t notice it was so short and could only ask for more!

What a lovely story. I fell in love with both characters equally and I love it when a story is told from both points of view. I will read anything Williams writes. She’s such a great storyteller and the characters feel so real.

I need to accept I am not a fan of novellas, I need more build up and backstory to root for characters. I did like that even with a short novel I could still picture the setting for the romance and I quite liked the two characters along with the idea that they have mixed up suitcases, I just wanted more of it I guess to really believe in their love

As a huge fan of Laura Jane Williams writing I was excited to see a novella being released a few months before her next summer read. The wrong suitcase did not disappoint! If anything the biggest letdown about this book was how short it was. I am praying for Laura to write more on these characters. Especially Cat she was such an interesting character I really enjoyed her part in the story.
So Izzy, everyone knows an Izzy. She was so relatable and joyful to get to know. You really want the happy ending that is anticipated for her.
Sam, he was the messy, mummy’s boy but sexy leading man. I really enjoyed the romantic scene between him and Izzy, or was there?
The wrong suitcase leads to the right man. Hopefully! You’ll have to read to find out but what a journey. Laura makes you feel like you are in Italy and ready, eventually to attend the wedding of the year!

I found ‘The Wrong Suitcase’ an easy read (or listen in my case) for a Saturday skate in the park.

The story, while very short, was engaging and the narrator easy on the ear. While I wasn’t overly interested in either of the main characters, I still enjoyed the story and their interactions with friends and family. Weddings are always interesting and high tension environments for romances.

A nice short romantic comedy…I just wish it was longer!
I love LJW writing so much and have read all of her books. They’re easy to read, great characters and this was no exception. Well worth a read!

A cute little book that could have been a bit better if I had known the characters well. I listened to the audiobook read by the author and it was a fun read,

3.5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley for the audio ARC.

I forgot that this was a short listen (2hrs and 40mins) and when I realised that it was nearly over I was a little bit sad as I wanted longer with the characters. It was a charming and funny story. I really loved Sam and I was rooting for him and Izzy from the beginning. I was almost as frustrated as Sam with Izzy at the beginning because her scattiness was holding up their initial meeting. The miscommunication led to lots of funny scenes and I literally laughed and smiled for the duration of the book.

This heartwarming romantic story is perfect for enjoying in one sitting.

The Wrong Suitcase
By Laura Jane Williams

I love that Laura is releasing this book around Valentine’s Day as a treat for us all - and that she has narrated the audio herself! Like the rest of the bookstagram community I am very eagerly anticipating LJW’s latest novel - One Night With You, so having this little novella to bridge the gap is just perfect.

Set in a lavish Tuscan castle, our MC, Izzy is recently out of a relationship and attending her best friends wedding, unfortunately her bag has been lost and she’s been left with a bag full of men’s clothes and shoes - chaos ensues and with her chance encounter with handsome, newly dumped Sam could there be a little more on the cards for Izzy?

This fun packed, lustful novella was just the antidote to a dreary winter day - I loved LJW’s narration and I adored the characters and their connection. If you’re after a rom com, look no further!

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK Audio for providing me with this Valentine's Day Special ARC. Publication date: February 12th.
This audiobook is one of the best I have listened to in a while - both the fast paced plot and excellent narration by Williams herself. She really brings the story to life and helps grip you to the plot, although short I was super invested.
This short, funny, dramatic, sweet novella, is a great witty and romantic read from the author of Our Stop and The Love Square, The Wrong Suitcase is a special short, celebrating what can happen when we leave it up to fate.

This is the second book by Laura Jane Williams I have read and I have loved both books I've read by her. Williams has certainly become a instant buy for me. I honestly can't praise her work enough, she's such an easy comfort read who I'd highly recommend.

This short and sweet novella really got me in the mood for summer! A witty and romantic read from the author of Our Stop and The Love Square, The Wrong Suitcase is a special short for Valentine’s Day, celebrating what can happen when we leave it up to fate.

Izzy and Birchy arrive in Chianti for a friend’s wedding. They don’t know each other… yet!

When a mix up means they each end up with the wrong suitcase, will getting them back mean getting something else in return?

This brilliantly read (by the author!) mini audiobook made me laugh, cry and even swoon!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for my feedback.

A quick and enjoyable enough read, but sadly I don't think the novella format and the rapid jump from 0 to 100 quite worked for me.
