Narrator 5 stars
Fantastic voice!! Definitely a narrator I want to hear more from. Her voice is so soothing.
Story 2.5 stars
Even though these women were 18 or so at the time they felt every immature to me. I didn't really like any of them as adults either. The story itself was ok, but probably not terribly memorable.
I Know What You Did Last Summer Meets Gossip Girl
🧡 A message from a dead friend coupled with an edgy main character is the nip to my cat. Not so good for main character Julianna, but there again it’s happening to her so…
💚 I loved the glamour and intrigue. There are a lot of New York references and high society links and that’s always fun.
💜 This audiobook is like the bandage dress in the back of my wardrobe. It suited me many years ago. The themes, the stakes, the politics of this story, they are all real and important, but to a younger audience, maybe 18-30.

SOUNDBITE
🎧 I don’t often use the world “honeyed” but Norma Butikofer’s vocal chords deserve it. It’s a voice that moisturises every day and never ever sleeps in its makeup, accounting for its smooth, bounciness. I really enjoyed her as a narrator and found her expressive and energetic.
🎧 This isn’t a detail heavy tome. So you can listen to it as background or on your commute and aren’t likely to get lost along the way. This does change towards the end, where

Deadly Little Lies is full of cliches and numerous detailed descriptions of hair, clothes and interior designs. The plot is predictable and the twists couldn’t be more obvious. I listened to the audio version and the pauses between the chapters lasted for at least a minute, most characters sounded exactly the same, with exaggerated expressions. I don’t think I’ll be reading more from this author.
Brilliant, stormed through it. Gripping plot and characters. Good narration, didn't detract from the story and was easy to listen to. Thanks.
Another Pretty Little Liars Vibe book! When you think one of your friends is dead? Then years later you get a message from the grave? When you and 3 other friends are the only ones who know the truth? This book keeps you wondering how someone who is supposed to be dead can come back? It keeps you hooked and the ending is WOW!!!!!!
I’ve really enjoyed this tale of student friendships turned sour. The story involves a group of students who first meet at university in New York State. They’re a mixed bunch, some from privileged background, others trying hard to fit in with a new circle of friends and the very different demands of community living and student life. There’s a life changing event that haunts those involved for years to come and then there’s revenge.
The skilled plotting is intricate and as the narrative switches between past and present, we see how friendships formed, alliances made and trust and truth destroyed. It’s very much character driven, with a handful of plausible central characters, each very different, who play off one another well. But throughout the novel, there’s a sinister mystery; what happened and why did it change lives. Who is coming back for revenge.? It’s really well narrated and I’ve whipped through this over a couple of evenings ( and on into the night because I couldn’t stop listening.). Clever and compelling with a few unexpected twists as it builds towards the end. A cracker.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. Great book!!! The narrator was wonderful and kept my attention throughout. I do feel like this is a common theme in recent books I have read: secrets from high school coming back to haunt them later. Good suspense. I felt my blood boil along with the other girls when the author talked about Emily. Great twist at the end as well! Can't wait to read more books by Stephanie.
I really enjoyed this story and the Narration was great the characters really came out with them, I was hooked trying to work it all out, the story was fast paced and I would definitely recommend.
On the surface, Juliana Daniels has a perfect life. Successful attorney – check, a loving husband – check, beautiful Manhattan home – check! A deep, dark secret that she’s never quite been able to move on from – double check! Appearances are often deceptive and everything begins to fall apart when Juliana receives an email from her old college friend, Jenny Teller. “Remember me?” The main issue being that Jenny Teller died over ten years ago!!
As Juliana begrudgingly reconnects with her other four college friends after they also receive an email from ‘Jenny’, the games begin and ‘Jenny’ behind blackmailing each of them. Only the four of them knew what really happened that night despite the numerous rumours that went around campus afterwards. So either someone else now knows the truth… Or one of them is lying. Juliana needs to put a stop to this before her past tears her future apart and ruins everything she has worked so hard for.

I LOVED this book! I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook for this one and the narrator, Norma Butikofer was excellent. The story switches from past to present throughout the book, building more and more tension and suspense as the story progresses. I loved all of the characters – even Emily – in a love to hate kind of way! The story was great and the writing was great! It gave me Gossip Girl vibes – if Gossip Girl was a lot darker, and I could see it being really popular as a Netflix series or even a film… hint, hint 😉
My thanks to the author and Harper Collins UK Audio HQ Digital for the gifted copy to review via Netgalley.
Four and a half stars rounded up to five stars!!
Just WOW. This mystery psychological thriller centres around a group of popular College mean-girls. It is told from the main character Jules' point of view and flicks between the present day and her Ivy League College experiences and bitchy lifestyle and friends. The pacing of the book, along with the Author's immersive writing style, mean that once you start it is highly unlikely you will want to put the book down until the end. The big reveal did take me by surprise, but even without that, the book is so well written, it will hold your attention throughout.
This is the first book i have read by this Author but I will most definitely be picking up her other book as my next read.
Many many thanks to NetGallery and HarperCollins UK Audio for approving my copy of the book - it was a true joy to listen to.

THE PERFECT LIFE
Juliana Daniels finally has the life she’s always dreamed of. A loving husband, a career as an attorney, and a cozy apartment in Manhattan to call home.
But when she gets a message from an old college friend, her blood runs cold. Remember me?
ONE DEADLY LIE
Juliana drops her phone as though she’s been scalded. The name Jenny Teller shines out from the screen… but Jenny can’t have sent that message.
This was an enjoyable read that I managed to read the majority in just one sitting. A well-written thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is told in two timelines; now and then - which works quite well in drip feeding information to the reader. If you are a fan of thrillers then you should plan to check out this book.
Rating 4/5

Because Jenny is dead.
The narration has good pace and flow, and the narrators voices seemed right for the characters they were portraying. I listened to this as an audio book and felt the narrators really helped bring the story to life. The narrator narrated the book beautifully, and I loved the depictions of the different characters.
Remember me?
A message to four old friends after more than 10 years apart from a dead girl, or at least they thought she was.
Juliana and her friends have a life that wished for now, but their ruled time in college hadn't been forgotten. Jenny's ghost hunts them.
The narration is in the two-time, Now and Then in suspense and mysterious atmosphere. Who and Why sent this message is a secret with other secrets in Juliana and her friends' life that make you want to keep reading this book.
Sounds good right?! Well written, engaging thriller, So why 3 stars?
This wasn't a bad book and I know people will never present or couldn't be judged at age 18, but this was so much jealousy, cruelty a friend, deception, selfishness, imposture, betrayal, foolishness, and immatureness even for that age.
I hope you find it more interesting it, probably deserves more. I just have could not enjoy college and the full of lies life of young ladies.
Many thanks to HarperCollins UK Audio and NetGalley for giving me the chance of listening to Deadly Little Lies by Stephanie DeCarolis, Narrated by Norma Butikofer, I have given my honest review.
Duration: 9 Hours, 44 Minutes
A great listen. It reminded me of the tv series Pretty Little Liars with murders and secrets between college girls.
A bit far fetched in places, but with a surprising ending, overall I really enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this audiobook.

Audiobook review
My first 'read' from this bestselling author.
It's a past / present revenge psychological thriller, centred around Jules. She didn't fit in socially at her Ivy League University until she was adopted by the rich bitch clique. Something bad happened the ghosts of which are set to haunt Jules and her friends, who ten years later have all moved on.
The voice acting was fine, it didn't sparkle, though perhaps that is limited by having a mainly female cast of characters from similar backgrounds. Whether the writing or the acting I only really connected with two of the characters, Jules and the nasty leader of the clique.
The college past is very much a Coming of age for Jules, and it's quite a way into the book before I got into thriller mode. Most of the tension and reveals are weighted towards the end, great if you warm to the characters, my tastes in fiction are generally a little darker so it didn't entirely work for me.
The tension builds nicely through the second half and it ends well.
I prefer more thrills, and would have liked more information on the terrible past incident earlier on, but it wasn't bad at all.

Deadly Little Lies - Stephanie DeCAROLIS
“A lot of people played a role in what happened that night. I’ll always feel regret for my part in it, but I realise now how much I have been punishing myself all these years, I held myself back from my husband and even from my friends, the people who knew the truth about that night and never judged me for it.”
I think it’s safe to say Some people have a conscience while some don’t and consequences can be dire. Sometimes the past is best left there.
It was a a little alow burning maybe or it is just the fact that I read a simmilar book and was still in that book. I loved that a little more as a whole but this had a better ending for me. As I said it begins slow with a perfect life. A not change everything. Noone knows who send it but we slowly get to know about a tragedy and why that could happend. Every friend has a story behind and unfortunately not all nice but we al have to learn also in a not nice way somethings.
