I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I was about to find the audio version through my local Library. I really enjoyed this novel. The characters are loveable and I loved the story plot. A great romance low key Novel. Highly recommend.

Oh what joy – when there are so many awful things going on in the world at the moment – a chance to revisit Bluebell Cliff, for Olivia and Phil’s wedding. I for one, cannot wait to get stuck in, to reconnect with some former characters and to meet some new ones. It’s a little like bumping into old friends that you’ve not seen for a while. Rest assured though, that this book reads perfectly as a standalone novel, but I do recommend that you read the others books in the series if you haven’t; just because you can and you will get so much enjoyment from them. Personally, Della Galton’s novels never fail to thrill, with their unique combination of romance and fun, with an amazing array of delectable characters, and often set in the most beautiful, comforting locations in my home county of Dorset.

I love the ongoing practical joke ’feud’ between maitre d’ Phil and the eccentric pig loving chef, Mr B and I loved that their relationship carried on into this book – it remained to be seen whether the joking would continue with his new Booty Busters business partner, Saskia. I couldn’t imagine her being remotely amused by his shenanigans! Mr B is certainly verbose, and seems to have an unlimited supply of bizarre words that mean the same thing, bringing us classics such as zounderkite, morosoph, fopdoodle and ninnyhammer. I confess to googling their meanings, but loved the onomatopoeia of them and the way they rolled off my tongue. Verbal diarrhoea at its best from Mr B.
Mr B’s hilarity goes a little sour when it transpires that there are problems with Booty Busters calorie controlled meals – but can it really be down to him? After all, he takes so much pride in his cooking. I find it hard to believe that he would put his professional reputation on the line. However, the desserts on the diet plan certainly didn’t sound like any diet I have ever partaken!

Harry was a gorgeous character, but I felt for him with his marital issues. His Wife was a total cow to him; a bully. She deserved nothing from any divorce, with Harry’s unreasonable behaviour amounting to not putting his socks in the laundry basket, versus her having an affair with her boss! I enjoyed the way that the relationship between Harry and Ruby started to develop, albeit slowly. Harry would be far better off with Ruby than his awful ex wife!

I thought the author dealt with Olivia’s fertility issues in a beautifully compassionate way, certain to resonate with anyone going through similar issues. The empathy exuding from the book was astounding.

My only complaint was the fact that the Bluebell Cliff Hotel is not real, as I would covet the chance to stay there.

This is a beautifully written, happy book. If only its essence could be bottled and consumed at will. It made me feel happy reading it, and I found myself not wanting to put it down. It is a Smorgasbord of delight. I sincerely hope that it will not be too long before I can get my impatient hands on the next book in this series.

Delightful, quick read. Ruby Lambert is an artist and art dealer who is taking some time to enjoy being a mother while at the same time is stressed about the extra baby weight she is still carrying as her sisters wedding days looms in the near future. Follow her through her diet adventure and making of new friends through Booty Busters class with witty banter, laughs and so much more. This is the second book in the series, but I was able to follow along and read it as a stand alone.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley, Della Galton and Boldwood Books for this edition and hearing my honest review. Looking forward to reading more with you

I have been a fan of Della’s work for a little while now. I have read and loved every book that she has written to date. I love the way in which she writes such fun stories about such to down earth people. I read the synopsis for ‘Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff’ and it certainly sounded like another amazing read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff’ but more about that in a bit.
I loved the character of Ruby and I warmed to her from the start. She is young woman, who is a single parent to an adorable baby. She has a very tight support network. During her pregnancy Ruby gained some weight that she thought might go once she had had the baby- only it didn’t. Ruby is due to be bridesmaid for her sister and she is determined that she is going to lose the weight before the wedding, as she wants to look good in her bridesmaid’s dress. I also had a soft spot for the other main character called Harry. Harry is a lovely man, who is married as the story begins. To be honest I was getting rather annoyed with his wife who seems very passive aggressive and makes snide comments directed at Harry. Harry seems rather low on self confidence which isn’t surprising when you consider what he has had to put up with. There’s a definite spark between Ruby and Harry and I kept everything crossed that they both got their ‘happy ever after ending’ that they both so deserved.
As with all of Della’s books, I was drawn into this story from the very first word on the very first page. As soon as I started reading I knew that I wouldn’t be able to put this book to one side for any length of time. I was so taken with the main characters and I warmed to them so much that they ended up feeling more like friends rather than characters in a book. I had to keep reading to see how the story panned out in the way that I thought it would or if there was to be a twist. I would pick the book up only intending to read a chapter or two but I would become so wrapped up in the story and in the lives of the characters that I would still be sat there reading several chapters later. I seemed to race through the story. All too quickly I reached the end of the book and I had to say goodbye to Ruby, Harry and the other characters. I found ‘Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff’ to be a delight to read from start to finish.
‘Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff’ is extremely well written but then to be fair so are all of Della’s books. Della has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. Della writes so warmly that the text actually reads more like a chat between friends rather than reading a book. I hope that makes sense. For me the story hits the ground running and maintains a fairly steady pace throughout. Della clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the way in which she describes them. She describes them so well that they seem to just as real as you and I. I love the way in which the author makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story themselves and at the heart of the action.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff’ and I would recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Della’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Ruby and Harry meet when they join a weightloss group that provides menu delivery and exercise classes. I enjoyed the drama and the friendships throughout the books. Ruby is keen to be svelte for her sisters wedding and Harry is trying to keep up with his wife's image of married life.
The setting and the characcters make for a wonderful read and I always enjoy Della Galtons books.

It's the second book in the series and it was great to be back at bluebell cliff. This book does work as a standalone book but I think it's much better to have read the 1st one. The characters now feel like my friends as I've gotbto know them inbthe 1st book.

It is great to return to the Bluebell Cliff Hotel and to catch up with all the individuals who work there. It is a real escapist location and much of the humour comes from the characters there, especially Head Chef, Mr B. Ruby is centre stage in this instalment in the series as she prepares for her sister, Olivia's, wedding. I found that Ruby and Harry's story took time to get established due to a lot of scene setting around their Bluebell Booty Boosters Slimming Club. However, once I got into it, I enjoyed the fact that theirs was a slow burn friendship.

Ruby is an interesting character, with insecurities around her personal life. Family seems to be paramount to her and she is surprised at the depth of her feelings about motherhood. Capable in her private life, she realises however that it is very hard to manage all aspects of her past life with her new responsibilities. Ruby has a close relationship with her sister and you see her kindness and generosity through their conversations around fertility. Although you can read this as a standalone, it is really worth reading as part of the series.

In short: Some relationships fail and others bloom...

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily.
This is the second book I have read in this series and it was nice to reacquaint myself with so many lovely characters, although it is possible to read the story as a standalone novel. Once again the book comes under the 'romcom' genre but it is so much more than a gentle romance. The characters are interesting and realistic and the family relationships and friendships develop throughout the book, it's not just about the wedding of the 'confetti' in the title. There are a couple of mistakes in the book (pounds lost don't quite add up, and Ruby's name was used where the reaction was Olivia's) so I have dropped my rating to 4 stars but in general this book is well-written. It is definitely worth reading this summer.

Witty, emotional and deliciously addictive, Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff is the latest enchanting novel from Della Galton’s talented pen.

When art dealer Ruby Lambert is asked by her sister Olivia to be head bridesmaid at her wedding in six months, her first instinct is to panic! Having still not lost her baby weight and determined not to let her sister down, Ruby decides to join a slimming club in order to shift those extra pounds. The Bluebell Booty Busters is a swanky diet and fitness club that could offer Ruby the encouragement and help she so desperately needs, but little does she realise that she’s about to get a lot more than she had bargained for at Booty Busters…

Local businessman Harry Small would rather be anywhere than at Booty Busters, but with his wife worried about his health and his ever-growing waistline, he decided to join this slimming club to get fit and lose some weight. Harry does not know what to expect from Booty Busters, but at least he quickly strikes up a friendship with Ruby Lambert and the two begin to cheer each other on during their weight loss journey and support one another when they feel like throwing in the towel and reaching for the cake and biscuits.

However, lately Harry and Ruby cannot shake off this feeling that something is amiss at Booty Busters. Can they get to the bottom of this puzzling mystery that is troubling the pair of them? Will they ever reach their weight loss targets? Or are they just setting themselves up for disappointment?

I’m a big fan of Della Galton’s and in Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff, she has once again penned a fun, feel-good and emotional read full of believable characters readers cannot help but warm to. Ruby and Harry are so brilliantly drawn and so incredibly real that they will feel like old friends by the end of the book and it is a wrench to bid them goodbye on the last page.

An uplifting and enjoyable tale readers will love, Confetti Over Bluebell Cliff is another winner by Della Galton.

This new book in the Bluebell Cliff Hotel series features main character Ruby, who is an art dealer. Galton's writing is always warm, humorous, and engaging, and this book is no exception.

As Ruby prepares to be in her sister Olivia's wedding party, she feels that she need to lose weight. She makes a plan, which leads to a series of events including having a partner, Harry, in her health journey.

For anyone seeking a light-hearted read with good character development, plot, and setting, this book checks the boxes. Although the book is part of a series, it works as a standalone.

loved Ruby right from the start. She was just so lovely and easy to relate to. It didn’t matter whether she was talking about being a foodie or about her love for her son, so overwhelming it could cause physical pain, I completely got her! Being reconnected with Ruby’s family which I had met in the book mentioned above, was also a delight. They are all such lovely people and all special in their own way.

Harry was described as a slightly bigger Ben Affleck and just had a huge heart and did not deserve the way his wife was treating him. It really upset me that such a kind man could end up being treated the way he was… I had lots of ideas about what should happen to his wife!

Being a rom-com and heartwarming feel good book the story was quite predictable, but still ever so enjoyable. I loved every minute of it and really felt like I was being given a warm hug while reading this book. I smiled a lot, got a bit emotional and I laughed. I can’t ask for anymore!

If you have not read a book by Della Galton yet, but enjoy heartwarming, feel good rom-com, then I would highly recommend you don’t put it off much longer. Her books are an absolute delight and I cannot wait to read more of them!

The second book in the Bluebell Cliff series, but this definitely works as a standalone. Olivia and Phil are planning their wedding and Olivia’s is bridesmaid. With a six month old baby, Ruby is determined not to be the fat, frumpy bridesmaid next to her gorgeous sister. When she steps on the scales she realises just how much weight she has gained since maternity leave.

Successful and independent, Ruby finds herself with a crisis of confidence. Struggling with her body image, she signs up to Booty Busters at the Bluebell Cliff Hotel. A fully inclusive diet and exercise programme, Ruby gets her meals planned and delivered alongside regular workout sessions.

There she meet Harry, the only man in the group. Rich and successful, Harry has a twinkle in his eye and their friendship soon blossoms. He has been signed up to the course by his controlling wife and has lots ifnproblems of his own to work through.

With weight to lose, relationships to build and big events on the horizon, the Booty Busters have lots to focus on.

The characters of Ruby and Harry are so relatable and it’s great to have such a clear and well-developed male character.

I really like the realism of Ruby. She is confident and successful in her professional life, but having a baby has had a huge impact on her life. Her role wothin her own family and relationships with her mother and sister have changed, not to mention being a single mum. This is definitely something that lots of women can relate to.

Some familiar faces from the first book are back – Mr B and the hotel pranks add some laugh out loud moments.

This is a sweet and uplifting read. Perfect escapism for challenging times.

This one is the second book in a series yet can be read as a standalone, although once finished you’ll want to go back and read book 1! The writing fully envelopes you in the story, you feel like the characters are your friends and you’re living life right along side them. Utterly uplifting, relatable and wonderfully warm, you’ll want to keep coming back to this land and get lost in it over and over again

I feel like I have discovered a new author in this genre, and my only regret is that it’s taken me so long to try one of her books. I found myself pulled in immediately, enjoying Della’s easy and yet sometimes dramatic style.

This is part of Della’s Bluebell Cliff series, and even though I’ve never read any of her other books, I thoroughly enjoyed this as a standalone story. Della provides adequate background information about the storylines so you don’t feel lost or overwhelmed, whilst the main focus remains on Ruby and Harry’s ongoing struggles and relationships. After reading, I definitely want to go back and read other books in this series!

In the book, Ruby is described as “lovely from the inside out” and I couldn’t agree more with this description. A perfect heroine, but not in the “flawless, uncomplicated” sort of way, rather the very real, very complicated, very self-aware and still absolutely sporting a heart of pure gold. Harry’s storyline was also quite unique, and definitely made me sympathetic towards him and pulled me into the story more.

I found myself very drawn into this story, eagerly anticipating the ending but also feeling sad that the pages of this 1were passing me by!

I would highly recommend this book and author to fans of Heidi Swain, Holly Martin and Jenny Colgan.

This story has an original theme explored through believable characters, which engender the reader's empathy. A slow-burn romance is at its heart, but it also explores themes of self-esteem, body image, controlling relationships and friendship.

Ruby is looking forward to being a bridesmaid for her sister's wedding, but she would like to look good in the wedding photographs. Joining a new diet and fitness group at the local hotel is the perfect opportunity. She meets some interesting people there, including Harry, the only man there also wanting to lose weight but his reasons for doing so are more complex and darker.

Told from Ruby and Harry's viewpoints, this is their story that begins with camaraderie and develops into something more. Characters from previous books in the series feature too, which is great for those familiar with the Bluebell Cliff hotel, but if not, it's a perfect place to start the series.

Mr B, the arrogant chef fond of playing practical jokes on others, is on form in this book, but this is a lovely escapist read. It's easy to become immersed in the character's life in this idyllic setting.

I received a copy of this book from Boldwood Books via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Della Galton’s writing has an overriding sunny and optimistic feel, making for enjoyable escapism. This book has that in bucket loads. I love the way the author weaves relationships between people, for example, Harry and Ruby’s fledging romantic bond felt totally natural and kept me reading until the end. The attraction between them came off the page.

A strong sisterly and family bond came across really well in the story, adding to the small-town feel. The depictions of Bluebell Cliff were enchanting. It was good to see emotional abuse being discussed as happening to a man, something I have not often come across in fiction. I was pleased to see how Harry grew in confidence in the story. Ruby too grew as a character for me. Although I’m not a mum, it was easy to empathise with Ruby being a new mum trying to juggle everything. Dieting is a tricky and sensitive subject to write about and whilst some may find it a little off-putting, it was positively portrayed for the characters.

Another strong romance story with all of your favourite characters from the previous book, catching up on Olivia and Phil’s life and their struggles to have a family. With thanks to Boldwood Books, Rachel’s Random Resources and NetGalley for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much Della Galton, Boldwood books and Rachel’s random resources for gifting me a digital copy of confetti over bluebell cliff in exchange for an honest review. This is my second book by Della Galton and a return trip to the Bluebell cliff hotel, this time we follow Ruby on a weight loss mission before her sister’s wedding. What I really love about Della Galton’s books is the strength of her characters; I always feel like I could call them up for a coffee of join one of their exercise classes. This book was filled with warmth, friendship and a slow burn of a relationship that gave me such joy by the end of the book. Overall this book left me with a sense of calm and contentment for the characters. I can’t wait to see what Della Galton writes next.
