This is a heart-warming and lovely book that brings the characters and setting of Meadowbank to life. I would definitely love to move to the supportive and lively community of Meadowbank myself! Elsie was a great and realistic heroin, who it was easy to identify with. Not just because of her love of books, but also because I sympathised with her character. She is an overthinker, and usually a people pleaser, and standing up for herself in the way that she does in this book does not come easy to her, which makes her actions all the more admirable.

It explores a range of themes including community, friendship, sacrific, romanc and initial attraction. Ultimately, this book and its main characters are full of heart and joy.
I loved it! I will definitely read more by Katie Ginger.

Very beautiful, this is not my usual genre however I thought I would give it a go and I loved it. A cute romance set in a small

This book caught my attention because it centered around libraries and books. As a librarian I thought this was a charming story and it had great support of libraries. I also enjoyed the dynamics between Elise and Jacob.

This was one of my top reads of 2022. It was sweet, heart warming and i loved the characters. Elsie was happy with her quiet little life until Jacob comes along with plans of his own. When Elsie has to fight for something she beileves in we see a different side to her. She is passionate about the library and the services it provides for the community. Jacob beileves he is also helping the community in his own way but what we see is sparks flying. I was a big fan of this book, a book about books and community and friendships is something that will always be a sure fire hit with me.

This one was a DNF for me. I will not be posting a review of it but thank you for sending. it just wasn't for me. Thank you again for the copy

The thing that drew me to this book was the cover. It is so beautiful and inviting. It immediately makes you feel cozy. The story is equally comforting. The sense of community that is detailed in the book is amazing. You fall in love with the village and all of the people in it. Anyone can find at least on person to relate to. Although, at times, the pacing felt a bit slow to me.

All in all, I enjoyed this book.

Being a librarian myself, I enjoyed the drive to save a library in this book. The need for libraries in communities is high to allow others to be seekers of information. Elise strives to save the place that has allowed her to get to know herself better.

This was an easy to read story that involved fight and love. The heartfelt bravery of Elsie to step out of her comfort to save what she knows to be best for her community is inspiring. If you love libraries and books this is a great book to read.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well-written and engaging. I don’t have much negative feedback to give at all. It was overall a very good book that I would recommend to others.

A brilliant story of people in a community coming together to try and save a place that means a lot in all sorts of ways, not just a place to borrow books. Can some of those involved realise that there is more to life than money and that community is about caring, friendship and helping each other? A great book from an author who never lets you down.

Elsie works at the local library, and leads a quiet, safe life.  Jacob works for his father's building company, and there are plans for shutting the library down for a housing development, which Jacob is going to help with.

He's building affordable housing, Elsie is trying to help the local community.  But who is going to win?

This is a sweet romance, with lots of community spirit, and the perils of the housing market driving young people away due to house prices.

I enjoyed the story, and agreed with both sides of the argument, which made it hard to know who to be cheering for!

A cute story but it felt like a slight copy and paste of a story I'd read before. It also became utterly hard to get through by the 5th chapter.

I absolutely loved this book I couldn't put it down. First book ive read bby this author and wont be the last.

The book is set in the little village of Meadowbank, its small but has a huge community spirit. The little library is the centre of the village, and isnt just a library but a meeting place for community groups and to some residents its a lifeline, that is until the council decide to sell the land fir affordable housing and close the library.

Librarian Elsie is devastated, she loves her job and the library, well with the exception of her boss. The council official orders them to keep quiet about the plans, until the public meeting, or lose any chance of being redeployed to another job.

Enter Jacob, whose trying to live up to his father Connors high expectations despite really not wanting to work in the building trade. Elsie bumps into him by chance, could this be love at first site? Not when she finds out at the meeting that's he's the one tearing her beautiful library down. Elsie decides she can't give up without a fight, she must save the library for the community, but can shy, never outspoken Elsie really stand up to the likes of Jacob and his father? Then when some of the residents seem actually in favour of the housing, will the community come together or will the fight split them apart?

A heartwarming story that you won't want to put down.

I really kept trying with this one. The description pulled me in and I thought it would be a cute, quick read. However, I just kept struggling to even get through the first chapter. This ended up being a DNF for me.

Story is very similar to one I read about a year ago. Only a few of the characters seemed unique. Cute story but done before.

Lovely feel good, romantic read. Cosy story with relatable characters and a beautiful exploration of the relationships between them. Really enjoyable read and pretty difficult to put down!

What an engaging novel I couldn’t put down. Loved Elsie, watching her bloom from timid mouse to speaking up to what she believed in.
True village feel with characters that exist!
True turn around in hero, wasn’t sure who it was going to be actually, which kept my interest in reading further. Totally recommend reading this.
