Thank you to NetGalley for the audio book.

This book was hilarious! I was laughing throughout the entire book! Seriously this author nailed it! She touched on many different subjects some of the subject matter is rather difficult to write on in a tasteful way yet she did a great job at it. The title threw me off a little but that doesn't matter. I really enjoyed this.

An enjoyable read. So many laugh out loud moments and such a beautiful camaraderie between Lucy and her sisters. It was really good to see a portrayal of someone my age who just wants to live their life on their own terms, with the added viewpoint of how her teenage mind perceives this life. I haven’t read any of the previous sisters books and now I want to go back and do that!

Book Review: Am I Allergic To Men by Kristen Bailey

Pub Date: 03/02 - it’s out!

My feelings represented as emojis: 🤭🤭🤭🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰❄️❄️❄️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️💗💗💗💗💔💔💔💕💕💕🥳🥳🥰🥰🥰😂😂😂😂

This book was nothing like I expected. I went into it knowing nothing about the plot but thought the title was a pretty good predictor of what was to come but as I became immersed into this book it was completely different from my expectations! I feel like it’s better to go in not knowing what happens as it’s intrigued me, even more, when reading what was happening! However, I think if you’re expecting romance you may be a bit disappointed so disclaimer for that! For me, it was a nice break from reading SO much romance 😂😂

Even though this is the 5th book in ’The Callaghan Sisters’ series it can be read as a standalone and that is exactly what I did, but boy does this make me want to read the rest as I loved everyone in this!

Although the title to me was a bit misleading from the actual events of the book, I enjoyed every second of it! The audiobook was just phenomenal and so much fun to listen to. I was laughing pretty much ALL of the time and I really needed a read like this! This is the perfect book to pick up if you’re having a shitty day and need cheering up and an escape from your own reality.

The characters in this book made it! The relationship between Lucy and all of her sisters made my heart warm. It made me want to go hug my sister and spend all my time with her. It highlighted the importance of family in the hardest times in your life and how laughter helps everything!

The reflection of Lucy’s life was done so well and although I was expecting a romance I was grateful for a book about the importance of finding yourself before romance and how they struggle through relationships teaches so many important lessons about yourself and those around you.

This has some mixed reviews but I think the people that didn’t enjoy this much were expecting a lot of romance and I can understand being misled by that. However, the people that loved it LOVED it so I would definitely go make your own mind up about it as it was such a feel-good read!

I ended up giving it 4⭐️ on Goodreads but it is very close to 4.5 !!

Oh my gosh what a hoot, Am I Allergic to Men? was just the bomb.

When I read the synopsis for this one I knew I was going to enjoy it, and I certainly did.

The narration was on point, and I honestly couldn't get enough of it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for so kindly gifting me the audiobook to listen to and review.

An emotional, funny and uplifting story about a woman who suffers amnesia following an accident. Lucy wakes up thinking she is 18 and has no memories from the intervening years. She has a large and supportive family who decide to all move back in together in the family home, hoping to unlock her memories.

Lucy is a wonderfully strong and caring character and there is much more to this book than the title and cover suggest.

Oh I cried with laughing listening to this, I usually listen to audiobooks whilst I am working, nope, not with this one as I couldn't see through the tears of laughter!

I have followed the series, which does help a little bit. Not a romance as such, but such a giggle to brighten up a dull day.

I love Lucy. She is witty and has a smart mouth. I love her relationship with her family, friends and even exes! And it shows how much she is loved when she lost her memory and how they helped her find herself again (literally). She is fun, feisty and obnoxious. I understand why it didn’t do well with some readers but I think that’s part of her charm and I also like how she dealt with her post-accident with humour and honesty.
This book is hilarious and heartfelt. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook, the narrator gave life to the characters. I like the flow of the story, it started silly and it was just really funny throughout the book. I’m very satisfied with the ending and that is a big deal for me.

Not ever read any of Kirsten's books before, I'm not sure what I expected but it was definitely not what I got. It was absolutely hilarious and filthy, with a sense of humour that made you laugh loudly, which got me some strange looks, as I mostly listen to audiobooks when I'm driving.

Lucy is nearly 30 and the youngest of the Callaghan sisters. She is a free spirit, lives in a shared house and does a range of jobs, including Princess parties.

One day whilst trying to get across London on a bike to get to a party, she gets knocked over by a bus. When she comes out of her coma, she thinks she is 17 and still lives at home. To help her try and regain her memory, Lucy and her 4 sisters move back home to live with their parents, and they try and help Lucy to regain her memories.

The book is explicit and I really enjoyed listening to the tale. I am pleased to learn there are more books about the sisters and I will be seeking these out. I would definitely recommend if your not prudish and love a good laugh, with a great story.

I really enjoyed this one. Very different than what I thought but I did find her to be the most interesting sister despite not reading the other books. I wish there was more romance but I loved how badass she was. Such a strong female lead!

Thanks to Net-Galley and publishers for providing the arc in exchange for my honest review.

When I saw the title I immediately knew that I need to read this. I had the opportunity to get the audiobook.
I liked the narrator. She tried to make each of the characters have an individual voice. And I liked that.
That being said I didn't really like the actual book as much as I thought I would. I was hoping for a romcom - cause of the title -maybe with a commentary on feminism. But we got none of that.

I liked the family dynamic the main character Lucy had with her family. Even though it is part of a series - which I haven't read - I didn't feel like I needed to read the series to understand them. The book itself as a standalone isn't that bad.
About the comedy, which I thought would be in abundance...unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It wasn't laughing out loud funny but there were parts where it was good.

Funny and emotional book which is filled with a family that support each other through a Life altering events bring them closer together. Imagine waking up for a coma and you have forgotten the last ten years of your life.

Although I’m not sure 100% sure why it is called “am I allergic to men” however it’s a good book.

Thanks to Arc from netgalley and all thoughts are my own.

It can't be over, can it? If you are reading this review before reading the rest of the series, then you need to go back and read them all.
I absolutely love the Callaghan sisters, and loved each sister as we got to know them. I would love a book written from the parents perspective.
I loved Lucy's story, but you really need the whole background to fully enjoy her story.
The epilogue was a fitting end to a brilliant series, and I will miss these crazy ladies.
I had the joy of reading and listening to this book, my absolute favourite way to enjoying books, loved reading it, loved the narrator

“When is it acceptable to drop kick a child? This one is about 8, I don’t think I’d be able to kick him very far.”

The second that quote reached my ears I was hooked, I laughed so hard I couldn’t not continue listening to the audiobook. Absolutely nothing else mattered to me and I focussed all of my attention to listening to this wonderful book, whereas I normally have two audiobooks on the go alongside around 2-4 physical books.

Poor Lucy ends up playing a game of chicken with a bus, and loses quite badly, which sees her end up in a coma in hospital. When she wakes up she knows who she is, but she can’t remember anything that happened over the last decade… she’s still 17 in her head. What follows is the hilarious encounters she has with friends, family, colleagues and ex-lovers to try and piece together exactly what happened during her life for those years she can’t recall.

Lucy is an absolute badass. She doesn’t take crap from anyone, and she stands up for what she believes is right even if she’s the only one doing so. She takes life by the literal balls and stays true to herself. When she finds out the guy she just slept with actually has a girlfriend she doesn’t take the easy way out like most people, oh no, Lucy goes to introduce herself and let that girlfriend know exactly what happened and that she was sorry, she even gives them her number in case they need any support. That’s just the kind of person she is, she has a big heart and a loud as hell mouth to go along with it. Lucy might actually be my new hero.

From now on when someone says “I love Lucy” my mind won’t instantly go to the tv show from many many moons ago, oh no, my mind will go straight to Lucy Callaghan. Thank you Negalley for the e-arc and thank you Kristen Bailey for introducing me to Lucy.

I don't know where to start this review, I am so sad that the series is over but hell what a book to end on!

I think Lucy is the person we all wish we could be. She is direct, has strong self-belief and will stick to her morals. Lucy isn't afraid to call someone out if she doesn't like their behaviour. I wish I was as brave as Lucy because sometimes people need calling on their sh*t. It was very interesting finding out about Lucy's missing decade and what she got up to.

This book was full of some of the best laugh out loud moments. I listened to the audiobook for this and regularly found myself chuckling away as I listened not caring who could hear me. There were also quite a few tearful moments. Kristen really brought out all the emotions for me in this book.

I absolutely loved having all the sisters together and I can only imagine what it must have been like in that house while they were all growing up. I come from a big family and I know it was chaos for us.

My one tiny criticism is the name of the book. I don't think it quite fits with the story. Lucy isn't allergic to men and the story isn't about her finding love so I feel like it gives off the wrong vibe to prospective readers.

I really enjoyed the narration too. Sarah did a really good job with building the emotions. She also made it really easy to follow who was talking when. I found her voice to be very engaging.

I am devastated that this series is over but I do look forward to seeing what Kristen is going to bring next as I'm sure it will be filled with her trademark humour and characters you can't help but love.

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for providing me with the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
The whole gist of it was enlightening and inspirational but I did not enjoy the book as much as I had hoped to.

Okay let's start with the beginning, it took me 2-3 chapters just trying to understand the audio along with the accent and I have a feeling I might have enjoyed this way more had I read it. On top of that, I found out half through it, that it's NOT a standalone book, but part of a series. The last one at that.

I have complicated thoughts when it comes to Lucy. She is a carefree person, someone who is amazingly sex-positive. But she's also the type of rude who think they owe no one niceties and that's not a person and/or character I vibe with, at all.

I did not enjoy how at every point she KNOWS she is being judged by anyone and everyone in her life. Especially people who clearly mean the world to her and she cares about those opinions but doesn't.

The whole character left me really confused. There was character development I guess, but I just couldn't see it.

I was really hoping this could be for me, but it's not.

Thank you and NetGalley, publisher, and the author for the Arc of this book.

I'm giving this book three stars... not 100% sure if I should give it more or honestly if it should be less. I don't understand the title of this book it had nothing to really do with men are her "being allergic to men" it was about her having amnesia and finding her way back. For the most part I enjoyed the book, it was a little inappropriate at times but it was okay. Would I read it again if knowing what I know now, not sure...

Not much to say about this one other than it was remarkably average. It would be extremely nice if publishers or netgalley made it clear that a book was part of a series before putting it up for review. The writing was dull and so were the characters. The narrator was lovely though!

What would you do if you woke up and couldn’t remember anything from the last decade? The last thing Lucy remembers is graduating high school. In reality she’s about to turn 30 and was in a horrible accident. Luckily her 4 sisters and all her friends are around her to help her remember.

Such a heartwarming, funny (and a little raunchy) story of being true to yourself even when you can’t remember who you are.
