A light and easy read that tells the story of Lydia who, after a weekend in Kefalonia finds herself with a tattoo on her back of "Awesome Andreas". Shocked and devastated as she is due to move in with her boyfriend (and boss) on her return home, she tries to keep the tattoo hidden until she can find a way of having it removed.

She soon realises that her relationship is not as good as she thought and as a spur of the moment decision, returns to Kefalonia to search for Andreas. Finding work at a local hotel, she goes on several disastrous dates with potential candidates whilst turning to her new friend Alex for support when they all end badly.

Soon her feelings for Alex start to overtake her desire to find Andreas - will she find her soulmate closer to home.

my thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this digital ARC. This is my honest review.

This was a light vacation rom com that takes place in Greece. Many tropes utilized including memory loss, miscommunication, found family, friends to lovers, travel romance. I'm typically not a fan of miscommunication but it ended up working here.

Lydia has a vacation to Kefalonia with her friends and wakes up with a hell of a hangover and a questionable new tattoo her last morning there. On her return to the UK she discovers some things that lead to the end of no only her relationship but her position at the company where her now ex boyfriend was her boss. At loose ends, she decides to head back to the Greek island and try to piece together her missing memory of that night and who the mysterious Andreas, referenced in her tattoo, is.

Lydia is a sweet character and Alexios, the male MC, seems to be also. They both make some assumptions and some mistakes (Alexios more than Lydia, to be sure) but their friendship that moves to romance is sweet itself, even if his judgment and cowardice in being completely honest with her was somewhat problematic . I appreciated the fact that the Greek characters weren't all caricatures of Adonis like sculpted gods or simple village inhabitants with broken English and good cooking skills. We saw a bit more that those tired characterisations.

The descriptions of the island and the locations were lovely. You could feel like you were there.

Overall a quick read, great for my plane ride recently. Nothing overly memorable but a good travel or beach read. 3.5 stars.

Wow! This book is SO GOOD! Whenever I picked up "Take a Chance on Greece", I was whisked back in time, and went on such a journey with this story!

Firstly, this cover is absolutely beautiful!

Emily Kerr is such a great writer! Her storytelling jumps right off of the page, and, on my goodness...I absolutely want to visit Greece!

After a trip with some friends, Lydia finds that she has a tattoo on her back that says "Awesome Andreas".
Realizing she she needs change in her life, Lydia decides to travel back to Greece to find out the man the tattoo is referencing. I do not want to say too much due to spoilers, so, I will simply say, this story has so much in it. Lydia grows throughout the novel, and there are lots of heartwarming and emotional moments, as well as some twists and turns along the way that I was not expecting at all!

I highly recommend this book!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC of this book! All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Unfortunately the whole book hadn't downloaded properly so I only read 18% of this book. I enjoyed what I had read so far and I know I would have enjoyed the whole thing.

This was a lovely light comedy, it reminded me a bit of a much softer version of the hangover… but what really makes this book stand out is the beautiful settings and stunning descriptions. I and I think if you’re looking for an easy beachy read, that will make you want to jump on planning your next vacation, this is a great bet!

Take A Chance on Greece by Emily Kerr is a delightful and humorous story about Lydia, a woman who wakes up with a tattoo of a man's name and has no recollection of how she got it. The story takes her on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to uncover the origins of the tattoo, and it changes her life entirely.
This is an enchanting and heartening read that left me thoroughly entertained. While the story does involve the search for love, the main character Lydia also goes through a significant personal transformation. Her friends provide unwavering support throughout her journey, offering helpful dating advice and constant companionship. The charming local bookshop owner, Alexis, also plays a crucial role in Lydia's quest to find her ideal partner, leading her on a humorous and occasionally frustrating search for the elusive "Awesome Andreas."

Unfortunately, Lydia's attempts to locate her dream man lead her down some unexpected paths, including encounters with an arrogant and married Andreas. However, just when she believes she has found her match, a surprising twist alters the course of her journey, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat until the very end.

Overall, the author has written a captivating narrative with friendly characters that will leave a lasting impression. If you're looking for a light-hearted summer read, I highly recommend "Take a Chance on Greece" by Emily Kerr.

When I saw the word " Greece" in the title, I was already adding this to the cart! I'm addicted to this place, culture, cusine and landscape. I'm going there every year and don't get enough. Of course, I was reading it in Crete, so I was able to immerse myself in this story.

This book is a hilarious. Lydia is on the island with her friends and after one of the party she came back with a tatoo. Not just a typical one - with a name of the stranger. It couldn't be worst, because she is already in the realationship and the name on her body is not even close to her partner's one. But this situation helps her realise one thing - she does not want to live a life like this. She wants more, so she decide to come back to Greece and find herself.

This story is about a great woman - brave, hard-working and starting from the scratch even though she is afraid and lost in new situation. All these in the authentic Greece, places off the beaten truck, isolate, without masses of tourists. Just she and the true face and hospitality of Greek people. I truly appreciate it.

I can't help but think another title for this book could have been "Searching for Awesome Andreas", as that is pretty much what Lydia is doing.

Well after she discovers a tattoo on her back saying Awesome Andreas, which appeared during a few missing hours of her last night in Kefalonia, before returning back from the girls trip away yo move in with her boyfriend Jim.

Thankfully we don't have to put up with too much Jim, and Lydia flies back to Kefalonia determined to find out just who this Andreas is and why he is awesome.

She just needs to find a job, accommodation and earn some money, and perhaps come up with a plan on of how on earth to find a man she can't really remember.

To say there are a few Andreas dates would be an understatement, but all so different and all equally memorable for different reasons.

I loved getting to to know Lydia's new friends too, and although I did partially guess something from the finale, I still had the reasoning wrong and was very happy with the outcome regardless.

It was a joy to see bits of Kefalonia through Lydia's eyes, and this is wonderful escapist beach reading.

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
