When Lydia wakes up after a wild night out in Kefalonia with a tattoo saying ‘Awesome Andreas’, she’s mortified. She doesn’t remember meeting anyone called Andreas. And after all, she’s an accountant with a five-year plan. She’s definitely not a party girl.
The sensible thing to do would be to research how to get the tattoo removed and move on with her safe and steady life. But she’s had enough of being predictable.
Instead, Lydia decides to track down the mysterious Andreas, but the path to true love is never simple. As she goes from one disastrous date to another, she starts to lose hope in ever finding him. Perhaps Lydia is looking in the wrong places, and the right man for her is just next door, if only she’d take a chance on him . . .
My Opinion
I read the majority of this book in one sitting, it was a very welcome distraction. A feel good, romantic comedy that is relatively quick to read. A lovely holiday read, that will whisk you away even if you are having a staycation.
Rating 4/5
The perfect holiday read. I wish I'd had this in lockdown! This book is like a mini holiday in between the pages, and really transports you to Greece in the wonderful descriptions.
With lovely characters and light humour ita easy to get lost in the pages.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
What a fun story. Lydia is on holiday in Greece and discovers on a hangover morning that she's gotten a tattoo on her back saying "Awesome Andreas." What a great hook! The story goes on to cover themes of control and mental abuse while Lydia works to break free of earlier mental patterns and push herself into a wonderful new life. Loved it.
I have absolutely loved this book. Lydia went from being the downtrodden wallflower to the bright vivacious flower that she really was. Reading the book makes you feel like you are in Greece with her and all the lovely people she meets. This is a story that warms the heart perfect for a lazy day on the beach. Thank you to Nethalley for ARC
Emily Kerr is talented in turning even mundane stories into something remarkable and swoon-worthy. This is not one of her best, but still, a light-hearted and pleasurable read. The entire story revolves around her search for Awesome Andreas, the guy she has decided on as the love of her life. It is easy to guess who that is from the beginning and even the twist towards the end came out as a mild surprise. So if you are attracted to this story because of the mystery element, I would say forget it. But if it is the word 'Greece' that drew you in, then you made the right pick.
Lydia is no party girl and on the off chance she gets drunk, she looks absolutely sober to others. That resulted in her waking up after a drunken night in Kefalonia with a tattoo on her back. It is a name but not that of her boyfriend's. The tattoo triggers her brain into action opening her eyes to what has gone unnoticed previously. Her boyfriend is a control freak; as her boss, he exploits her abilities but he is tight-fisted when it comes to payment. She breaks off her relationship and travels back to Kefalonia in search of her Andreas.
Joining a hotel as a maid, she starts her search for Andreas resulting in many hilarious dates. Each of these locations gives us a peak into this beautiful Greek island which will not fail to awaken your travel-crazed mind. Lydia's search may not have produced the desired result, but each of her failed dates bring her closer to understanding who she is.
To read a book set in Greece while I'm stuck at home this summer? Wow! What a gorgeous backdrop to transport me to!
The premise was silly, as were the many Andreas characters that Lydia encountered. This book was equal parts laughable, cringeworthy and sweet, all while allowing you to use your imagination. Predictable but happy makes for an easy summer read.
Gorgeous, funny and romantic……Lydia discovers a surprising souvenir as she readies herself to depart Kefalonia following a girls' holiday. Upon realizing that she has had 'Awesome Andreas' tattooed on her lower back on a drunken night out, she is shocked again by the fact that she has no idea who this man is. Lydia briefly returns to the UK to tidy up some loose ends, and then flies back to Greece to track down the man who was responsible for her rash decision, the elusive Andreas.
This is a feel-good story about starting over and finding the courage to pursue what your heart desires. I am left longing for my own Greek adventure, and recommend this as a refreshing summertime read. Five stars from me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The book opens with Lydia and her two friends having to rush to catch the shuttle bus to the Kefalonia airport at the end of their vacation. Lydia wakes up with a bad hangover, so there is no time to take a shower. On the bus, a scene that I think lasted a very long time with many reflections, one of her two friends discovers the tattoo on her lower back, she does not believe it at first, but when later girlfriend two confirms it and takes a picture of it, she does believe it.
Lydia who is very serious does not understand how this could have happened. On the bus to the airport, she ponders drowsy. When she comes home, her boyfriend, with whom she was going to live with after the holidays, does not even notice that there is a piece of cling film on her back. Very special and with this it is immediately clear what the relationship is like, as a reader you understand it earlier than Lydia herself.
Back in Kefalonia, Lydia does everything she can to find Andreas, she gets help from bookseller Alexis. He also got her a job with his sister in the hotel, this simple cleaning job is just the right thing for Lydia who is getting things sorted for herself.
Nice entanglements, nice characters, nice descriptions of Kefalonia, you would actually immediately want to jump on the plane to see the places that Lydia visits on the various dates in her search for ‘Awesome Andreas’.

This is a story of self-discovery, and taking chances. Lydia is an appealing and charming main character and her issues with self-esteem will relate to many.
A heartwarming, addictive, escapism read, with a plot that flows well. This author's beautifully descriptive style makes for stunning destinations and transports the reader directly to Kefalonia without leaving their seat.
This is ideal for any summer read, whether, on holiday somewhere tranquil or just chilling at home. This is a tale to lose yourself in!
I undoubtedly adored this, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of a cute, fluffy read!
Lydia wakes up in Greece with a man’s name tattooed on her with no recollection of the man or how it got there. She completely changes her life and moves to Greece to find this man and restart her boring life. I enjoyed this cute rom com.. As she searches for him she begins to realize he is right in front of her.
Okay the ending of this book was just PERFECTION. Thank you for that! I found this to be a very light and quick read with great characters and even greater settings. Definitely add this one to your summer reading lists! Highly recommend.
This was a cute book. It read more like fiction, a woman on a path to reclaim her life than a romance novel to me. The setting was exquisite, this author does a fantastic job of bringing the reader into the world of her characters. Greece lept off the page. The side characters were adorable. The ending was simultaneously predictable and bizzare, which I appreciated.
I was so pleased to be able to read this book, I loved Emily Kerr's previous book and couldn't wait to read this one about Greece.. It is a delightful story which begins with Lydia and her two friends, Kat and Amira in Greece. On the last night in Greece, Lydia gets really drunk and wakes up the next morning with no recollection about what had happened the previous night. It then comes to light that Lydia has had a tattoo with Awesome Andreas on.
Lydia has no clue who this mysterious Andreas is and goes home really worried about her boyfriend Jim will say.
When she gets home, she realises that moving in with Jim may not be her best move but she also works with him, making things even harder but eventually decides to leave Jim when she finds out that he is paying her far less than the other employee's in the business. She packs her bags and returns to Greece.
Back in Kefalonia Lydia goes in the search of Andreas, will she ever find out who Awesome Andreas is. The characters in this books are so special, another great book from Emily Kerr
A lovely holiday read. Watching Lydia develop and grow was great. The setting was beautiful and really well written with a lovely, lovely ending. Highly recommended.
This was a lovely , warm, romantic story in a beautiful setting. The twist at the end was fairly obvious but it was still enjoyable. A really, quick but charming summer read. (3 stars)
I liked the premise of the story and loved the descriptions of Greece. I struggled at times to enjoy the character and storyline.
Even if you aren't a romance enthusiast, read this book simply for the beautiful descriptions of Greece and all the wonderful tourist destinations. I promise that you will feel like you are on vacation the entire book. And if you are here for the romance, this book doesn't disappoint in that department!
This is the perfect summer read to devour while dreaming of your next vacation!
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
This was one of those books that equally frustrated me and loved it… I found myself changing my mind every chapter as the MC (and her self esteem issues) drove me bonkers. I did however love Alexis and feeling like I was in Greece for a holiday!
Recommend if you go into it knowing it’s light, fluffy and quick.
A tattoo on a drunken tonight out with her friends leads Lydia to ditch her boyfriend and head back to Greece to track down Awesome Andreas, but as she spends time with Alexis will she forget Andreas?
A fun holiday read and a great setting
