Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to start a bookish social media account.
This was a super helpful book for just getting started with reviews! I would recommend this book to anyone just beginning with reading and reviewing books.
I am still dipping my toes into the book review pool, and this toolkit was the perfect push to get me all the way into it.
I enjoyed how easy it was to read, and how well it was organized. I learned a crazy amount of information about book reviewing and how it works on social media. My favorite part was learning what CamelCase was. You definitely need to read the book if you don't know what it is!
This toolkit is for anyone who wants to know more about how to do a good book review, or even how to utilize hashtags.
Thank you to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
There was a lot of good advice and easy to follow instructions when it came to writing reviews, posting them to various sites and making sure to have a uniform style when giving reviews. A great place for beginners.
As a new member of NetGalley, I found this to be a great help in knowing what is expected of members and how best to approach the books on offer. I learned so much, such as how to have a good profile, how to know what publishers are looking for in advanced readers, and how to write good reviews. I would advise anyone to read this as soon as they join NetGalley - I only discovered it after a few months and wish it hadn't taken so long for me to find it!
I've been on NetGalley for a few months now and needed help with a difficult review. This document really helped and is a useful resource I know I will use in the future.
This was interesting and although it didn't have a lot of new information, I still found it a worthwhile read. As a regular person who just wants to reads some books, I do think I could benefit from trying out some of the strategies suggested in order to make myself more enticing to publishers.
Gave me great tips with reviewing and often refer back to it when I'm struggling to get started with a review :)
The tool kit provided many great tips on how to succeed as a book reviewer in individual social platforms and also tips on how to write great reviews. What i found the most important that i have not heard before is to find your voice in the book review writing or social media post. This is important as it gives you as the reviewer an edge for what the reader/follower is looking for or is attracted in you in terms of how you present yourself.
A fun introduction to reviewing and blogging about books. This guide contained tips on how to write a good review (no spoilers, please!) and how to promote them on different social media platforms, especially Bookstagram (Instagram) Book Tube (YouTube) and BookTok (TikTok). Great for those just starting out in the book review world.
Great tips and advice for a new book reviewer/blogger. Very easy to read, and the layout is pleasing to the eye. Will keep referring back to this book until I find my feet.
This is such a good guide for anyone new to not just NetGalley, but the online book world in general. Some excellent review tips and the tips for using social media platforms effectively are a huge help!
All the tips and tricks needed to succeed as a NetGalley reviewer. This publication answers lot of questions and gives specific advice for individual social media spaces. Very helpful
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit prepares book influencers to succeed on the platform. The short PDF covers how to write and promote reviews and briefly covers various social media, NetGalley tips, and content strategizing. The PDF has an aesthetic layout and is quick to read. There is excellent information for beginner reviewers and some more advanced advice. I would not recommend anyone read it, but I am glad to have picked it up.
Excellent and helpful tips! So easy to read and follow. I love how they are presented as infographics, and even providing tips on how to aesthetically post e-Readers on Bookstagram. Thank you so much!
I like more when you describe what it is I need to include in my bio because I still feel like I don’t have what I appropriately need. This helped me a little bit more so thank you for that!
This is a great guide for anyone new to reviewing. It has provided the steps one needs to develop skills while using NetGalley.
This has been very helpful in writing book reviews! I have referenced it multiple times to make sure I’m including all the content needed and organizing things appropriately
This was very helpful as I rebuild my social media and reviewer presence.
I have to admit I didn't know about BookTube, Bookstagram, or Canva. I will need to look them up in greater detail.
My only concern with this tooklit is I can't put it on Kindle. I know it's because of the pretty graphics and the flow. I get that. Having it easily on hand for reference would have been very convenient.
This was helpful and pleasant to read through. I think anyone who conducts book reviews on any media will get something out of it, especially for those who are just starting out.
I would like to thank We Are Bookish for providing me with an advance readers copy via access to the galley for free through the NetGalley program.
The Story
Covered book reviews from creative and technical standpoint with highlights of proper etiquette as well as developing a social media platform and presence. At about 30 pages, it’s a quick, insightful, and practical read.
The Writing
The artistic design, with graphic/infographic interest of new information and reminders was a nice touch.
Well organized.
