Thanks for the tips! I’m branching out to Bookstagram and Book Twitter and the specific tips were so helpful!
Very helpful and informative! I only wish they had a list and guide of the different badges but still a good resource for how to grow a netgalley account.
This is a great tool to use! Very informative. Whether you are a brand new reviewer to NetGalley, or have been reviewing on the platform for years, there is something new and interesting to be found by everyone.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is so informative; it discusses all the platforms reviewers can post reviews and gives loads of examples. This was really valuable to me, since I'm still quite new to this
This was a great resource guide, especially for someone like myself who relies on my Bookstagram account to share books that I read and personal insights! The tips for content planning and IG posts were super helpful!
This is a great overview of how to review and various social media platforms to use for spreading your reviews and book thoughts. Definitely recommend look through this toolkit. My only disappointment was it narrow view of reading tracking sites as it only mentioned Goodreads. I have long hoped for the inclusion of more independent sites such as Storygraph which not only allows you to track and review in much the same way but also has additional features such as buddy reading which can help spread the word by including other in your reading journey. I hope as this toolkit is regularly updated that additional platforms will be included in future.
Great ideas! Thank you for laying out all of this information in an accessible way. Found the bits on social posting particularly useful.
This little info booklet was put out by the NetGalley team to help Reviews and others use the site more efficiently. If something like this had been around back when I joined the site in 2017; maybe, I wouldn’t be playing catch up with all of my Arc’s the way that I am now. What can I say… I get request happy real quick.
This booklet didn’t have any new info for me but I do like how it compiles a whole bunch of really useful reviewing tips and resources into one easy-to-remember place. All of the illustrations and colors fit into NetGalley’s easily recognizable theming, so it is comforting and easy to comprehend.
The guide takes you through how to write a review, the different types of reviewers, as well as all of the different types of Bookish Social Media.
I wish that NetGalley would put out more guides like this like for blogging tips and others areas that could be applicable to the site. Because it’s kind of sad to think of this being the only guide of its kind. It does a great job of breaking down the whole blogging ecosystem, so it doesn’t seem as daunting as it was to me when I first started.
Some of the tips that I enjoyed the most were the parts where they talked about having a solid starting ground before hitting publish (something I didn’t do) meaning knowing your blogging voice and having a logo and schedule (and maybe even a few posts…) all planned out. And also how they talked about tagging the publisher and NetGalley and not necessarily the author (unless you loved the book…).
I would recommend this guide to anyone who uses NetGalley or anyone looking to get into reviewing period there were some good tips. Thanks again to NetGalley for providing this book for review; and I hope that I can use some of these tips and tricks to strengthen my blogging skills in the future.
I truly love this short but very informative guide from Netgalley. I really wish to step up and be better at using Netgalley as it's such an awesome rescourse for readers and I enjoy using Netgalley and I really like the tips on how to share reviews on other platforms.
Great guide with tips and tricks on how you can improve your reviews and what to do and what to not do.
Thank you for all the help! I've been using some of the tips from this for my accounts and they've been helping. I'd love more helpful books in the future!
A helpful guide to writing book reviews for social media. Includes tips for what to post and when to post for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and blogs.
This book is absolutely invaluable to anyone new or newish to NetGalley as a reviewer. I definitely would have liked to have this when I first began reviewing on the NetGalley platform.
It’s not onerous in any way but it is filled with tips and the general things to do and not do. I will definitely be refreshing my profile and my review technique as a result of reading this.
I highly recommend this book, it’s a must read for any reviewer in my opinion.
My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review .
Great information to use. In reviewing. Hopefully it will help improvethe ARCS I get. Glad they proceeded a type of guide for better reviews.
This was an excellent guide to getting started out with NetGalley and as an insightful and creative reviewer of books! Appreciated the specific suggestions and learned new things about hashtags and etiquette on sharing quotes.
Also really loved the “Focus on Accessibility” section which gives Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to making reviews more inclusive for those using screen readers.
Thank you NetGalley for this helpful guide that was fun and easy to read too!
Easy to read and full of useful advice. Getting started in book advocacy when it isn’t your day job feels intimidating, and this guide boils it (the starting, not necessarily the maintaining) down to a series of action steps and tasks that feel doable.
NetGalley for beginners in a few easy steps
This is a guide for how to set up and use NetGalley, covering profiles, book reviews, social media channels and content planning.
It is primarily for those new to using NetGalley, such as myself, but has tips that may benefit any user.
I found this guide useful and made a few changes to my profile and dashboard as I was reading it. At the moment I am working on building up my feedback ratio based on ‘read now’ books before requesting anything, but I hope the tips in this guide will help to improve my chances of being approved for books.
I appreciated the opportunity to read this and I'm sure it will have an affect on my reviewing work. Thanks.
It was very useful. I wish i would've found it earlier. Everyone should read this before as it helps to strengthen the Netgalley profile..
Very helpful toolkit, thank you We Are Bookish for this PDF. I now know how to be a better book cheerleader.
This toolkit is super helpful for reviewers! I really appreciated the tips and tricks it provides. Can't wait to implement them!
