NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit provided lots of useful ideas, tools and suggestions to get me on my way. I highly recommend new NetGalley members downloading this resource.
A must read for any netgalley newbie, but also a good refresher for those who have been on goodreads for a while. An easy read with lots of good tips and tricks.
I am new to NetGalley and this manual has been very very helpful and i will be applying it to my everyday
This concise guide is immensely helpful in utilizing NetGalley to its fullest potential. It is simple to follow and easy to understand. Do not be deceived by its length.
Really liked how informative this was and will definitely be using some of the tips in this. This will definitely help with my reviewing techniques aswell as my blog in general.
This is a very helpful read! It provides a useful introduction to NetGalley, as well as helpful tips and resources. I can see this being a good go-to source for crafting reviews.
This is one of the most helpful guide books I have ever read. I am new to Netgalley and, while I am on other platforms, it can be difficult to start something different. Netgalley's Book Advocate Toolkit helps you navigate your way around the website as well as giving you outside tools to use through interactive links. This, however, is not all as the book goes through review tips for Netgalley, blogs, and youtube, as well as, tips on how to start and promote on book social media accounts such as Bookstagram, Booktube, and Booktok. This is extremely helpful as not many guidebooks today are up to date with the platforms and the best way to use them as they are continuously being updated. Overall, my expectations were exceeded with this book and I will be frequently using it to better my platforms. I believe that everyone who uses social media as a way to show what they love would benefit from this book even if they are not on Netgalley.
The perfect place to start on NetGalley! A book blogging friend recently recommended both NetGalley and this book as a great introduction to blogging and reviewing. I say 'book' but it has more of a presentation feel to it, the short pieces of text, graphics and colour give it the viewing experience of a series of slides. I really enjoyed this aspect of the guide, especially as content-wise it exceeded my expectations as an introductory guide.
The guide includes a wealth of information on how to get the best out of NetGalley, including how it works, how to do a great bio, how to earn badges and link your socials etc. I like that it's helpful in terms of setting you up for both broader success as a reviewer/blogger but also increases your chances of getting approved for arcs on NetGalley itself.
It also includes how to write reviews, all of the social media platforms you could want, plus blogging and how to strategize. I'd not thought about being strategic so this section was particularly interesting to me. I've started to think about content planning rather than just being reactive when the mood takes me. There are also really good tips on how to use canva, hashtags and accessibility. I'm a disabled book reviewer so speaking from experience I know how much of a difference it makes. Well done NetGalley for championing accessibility and inclusivity.
Ideal for both beginners and seasoned reviewers looking for a refresher or to polish up their game.
This was a wealth of information for someone who is just getting started with NetGalley! I high;y recommend that not only do you read this but you download this to reference.
This brief ebook is an excellent summary of how to make use of Net Galley. It's a step by step approach, always clear and helpful, on setting up a profile, writing reviews and sharing your work on social media. It's a great guide on how to make the maximum impact for the books you review.
This toolkit was very helpful. It gave me some great new tips when leaving reviews and how best to go about doing it. Also, it gave me some better insights into NetGalley overall. I highly recommend it.
A great resource that was really helpful to get me started on NetGalley. Everything I was looking for to get started and keep improving my reviews/ platforms is laid out here in this helpful doc.
This is a very basic but helpful introduction to how NetGalley works and how to review books and how to improve those reviews. It also includes some basics on how to review across several different social media platforms and blogs and how to link them together. There are a lot of "click this link" for more info on several subjects. Since this is meant to be a NetGalley toolkit, I would have preferred to just have all the information in the toolkit without any links, other than maybe in a reference section with all of them in one place. Still, this is very informative with lots of helpful, getting-started instructions for a new NetGalley/online book reviewer. There is some helpful information in here for all types of reviewers (beginner to seasoned), but it's most helpful for someone brand-new to NetGalley, in my opinion.
So helpful! Everything I was looking for to get started/keep improving my reviews and platforms is laid out here in this helpful doc. I especially appreciated the tips for accessibility in posts!
This was really helpful to get me started on NetGalley. Now I know my way around and am enjoying it. I couldn't have chosen any other guide to help me.
I really enjoyed this “get started” guide for posting on NetGalley! I appreciate the tip to not go on a requesting spree because I can see how it would be easy to get overwhelmed!
This should be a suggested book when opening NetGalley!
This was actually incredibly helpful, even for someone who has been on Netgalley awhile. Highly recommend!!
Great tips for new NetGalley users especially! If you're looking for information on a platform you're not already using, grab this toolkit and get started.
Great guide for new members of NetGalley including best practices for setting up your account, writing successful reviews, and sharing reviews on social media. I'm sure it's a resource I'll reach for many times.
I snagged the toolkit after a slew of declined request. It kind of hurt a bit and knew I had to be doing something wrong. This was super helpful I think and I hope to do better going forward.
