I have been reading and reviewing for a long while.
Sometimes I get in a slump and can't read at all.
This book is very helpful! The ideas and tips written on fun pages help to give you a jumpstart.
Today I am working on reviews that I have failed to write. I feel excited about reading again!
Thank you so much, NetGalley for the chance to read and review this really helpful book!
Helpful guide. I certainly wish I had this when first starting my reviewing hobby. However, it will come in handy now and in the future. When I feel reviews need a refresh I will reference this guide with certitude. Anyone starting out reviewing should read this - it will help tremendously.
Very interesting read on book platforms. Provides me with information to grow my book social media.
Organized breakdown on how to discuss books online.
This is a great guide to being a better book advocate from NetGalley. I will be saving my copy to refer back to often, and I appreciate NetGalley offering guides like this! Although most of the information was not new to me as a long time bookstagrammer and NetGalley user, I think this is the perfect guide to hand to someone newer to the site who wants to know how to put their best reviews forward.
I'm very grateful for this toolkit, as NetGalley is still fairly new to me! As a librarian, I'm sort of an outsider to the world of booktube etc., so this gave me a better idea of what people are looking for on other venues and how I can incorporate that into my own way of doing things on my blog. The text was of a readable font, the graphics were attractive, and I can see myself utilizing what I learned and referring back to this book when I need a fresh dose of inspiration.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this for review (and for use)!
This little net galley tool-kit was perfect for me who just signed up and is in need of a little guidance.
It it thorough and presents the do's and don'ts for a review very clear.
Thank you
I found this guide to be incredibly helpful in assisting me in getting started with reviews! I felt somewhat lost and like had no idea where to start, but this guide gave me a good starting point by providing insight that was easy to understand even for a beginner.
This is a handy book to have--it's full of great information that anyone from beginners to experienced reviewers can use.
One thing that would be handy is a Table of Contents that linked to the specific section of the book. Active links would save a bit of time scrolling through the entire book to find one section, especially if I was looking up something specific while working on a review.
This is a very helpful intro to becoming a book reviewer. Easy to understand, excellent infographics and answered all the questions I had going into this.
So helpful! Thank you for publishing this! Makes me want to expand beyond Goodreads and try my hand at social media reviews. Very good advice on managing requests and reviews to keep your feedback ratio in good standing. I’m definitely guilty of the request spree and have paid the price.
This was a very helpful read! I'm still trying to figure NetGalley stuff out, and it can definitely be disheartening when you get all your requests declined and don't really know what you should be doing. I can definitely see myself coming back to this when I feel like I need some additional ideas or help!
Well done NetGalley! Despite having been part of NetGalley for years I've struggled to keep up with making time to do reviews (approval sprees are to blame!) And I really wish this had been written and circulating when I first joined because it's been so useful!! I love it and I have to say I've printed it so I can refer back to it and refresh myself whenever I need to. Definitely a win.
This helpful PDF is so useful for a new member to the NetGalley community. Not only does it provide some excellent tips for setting up for NetGalley, but it also gives some great advice on how to write a review as well as information across various social media platforms. As someone who posts reviews mostly on Instagram, this was appreciated. The document is easy to read and the fun design helps digest all of the information inside.
Thank you to NetGalley for making this and giving this guide to us! I have been using NetGalley for about a year now and I wish I had this when I first started. I have had so much trial and error with building up my following on social media, and with my reviews, but the tips listed in here will be so helpful as I go into my next year of book reviewing. I have managed to stay (mostly) on top of my requesting/reviewing, but the tips provided for that too are so incredibly helpful. I cannot believe I didn't have this before, because it is so intuitive but you never know what you don't know until it is obvious. I highly recommend reading this as your first book request on NetGalley if you want to start off being a reviewer!
This was beyond helpful!
When I started my bookstagram I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to read and encourage others to do so as well. Not long into creating my account I heard about NetGalley and I wanted in! Listening to helpful hints from other bookstagrammers and the information in this packet has been a huge help. I suggest that anyone that wants to have a successful blog and NetGalley account download this packet immediately.
I strongly recommend this helpful toolkit for anyone interested in Netgalley and perhaps feels intimated by the process.
My experience was trial and error but this 31-page tips and recommendations will help you get started like a pro. It took me four years after signing up to read and review my first book. I didn't know what to do or where to go!
Toolkit tips include; Creating your profile, Site navigation, Review writing, Blogging, Social media do's and don'ts, and how to promote yourself on sites such as BookTube, Bookstagram, and BookTok.
How to read this toolkit. You first need to sign up at Netgalley.com. Go to the "Find Titles" tab and type "NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit" in the search box. You can read it as a pdf on your web browser or on "The NetGalley Shelf app" (Apple or Google Play).
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a very quick read, but one that packs a big punch. It is little, but mighty - just like dynamite!
I've been back into reading for about a year now, and decided to take the plunge into Bookstagram last June; I've been slowly building a following, gaining skills and ideas along the way. After finding out about NetGalley, I requested a few books and wondered why I wasn't getting many approvals. This short information guide helped me learn a few things that will help up my chances at getting approved by publishers.
Lately, I've found myself in a bit of an inspiration slump on Bookstagram, and even though this guide was not intended as such, I found myself taking notes of post ideas. I found motivation for my social media platform, even though the ideas were actually geared towards other platforms.
"Toolkit" is in this book title, but I'd suggest adding the information contained inside it to your toolkit!
Very informational with many usefull advices. It is a great tool for us who just recently started reviewing books. Thank you NetGalley for this gem.
Really helpful guide! Really appreciated the advice in being successful with Netgalley and that it will be updated as things change.
This is a great Toolkit to help reviewers, especially newbies, like me. I've read and followed blogs, BookTok, Bookstagram and Booktube, but I haven't heard of Booktwitter. Now, I have another platform to check out!
Thanks to "We are Bookish" for the education and great advice.
