NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit by We Are Bookish is a fantastic tool to help new NetGalley members and an excellent refresher for longer-term members. I wish this had been available when I first joined NetGalley.
The guide is easy to understand and follow and has some great tips and reminders. It’s also helpful if you’re thinking about starting a blog or if you’re thinking about adding reviews to a new (to you) social media platform. There are tips to enhance your reviews. A reminder to update your profile as statistics and other information changes is important to new and existing members.
One thing that I would have liked was the ability to download the guide to my kindle. Additionally, I thought the information in the NetGalley Device Guide would have been useful to beginners.
Overall, this is something I recommend to every new NetGalley member. The helpful hints and easy to understand layout would make this a quick read and enable them to glean useful tips. Every new NetGalley member should get a link to this guide.
We Are Bookish provided a complimentary digital copy of this book via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date was March 08, 2022.
I wished I read this before I did a request spree 😅. Now I find myself having to work harder to finish reading digital review copies here so I can provide feedback quick enough to get my feedback ratio up. I like the format of this on the app, it is big font, nice cheerful background colour and to the point.
Great and helpful info for NetGalley tips and reviews! I will definitely be saving this and using it in future.
This review will be most enjoyed by NetGalley members and those who want to think about how to blog and review books.
There is loads of helpful information in this guide. Read it to learn more about how to write and post reviews and where the best places are to voice your opinions. There is material on everything from Instagram to Booktok and many places in between like WordPress.
I have been blogging for a while but still found this resource to be very helpful.
Thank you NetGalley.

From how to set up your profile to what publishers are looking for from a review. Whether you're new to the service or have been using it for years there is helpful information in this guide for everyone
I wish this was available when I joined NetGalley two years ago rather than having to find most of this information out myself through trial and error and research!
Lots of great advice in here for all different platforms, thank you! I'll be keeping this to refer back to.
Fantastic little insight to netgalley.
Helps with approvals, profile and really useful information for blogging and reviews.
Just brilliant
Extremely helpful for all NetGalley users! Gave some awesome tips to keep your profile up to par. Thanks, NetGalley & We Are Bookish!
This was extremely helpful. I've been using NetGalley for years... since 2015?! At first I was told it was a place to find free books. Then I found it a way to share new books and reviews. Until the past year, I never paid attention to the feedback ratio. The toolkit also mentioned thanking NetGalley and publishers in posted reviews. I had seen other reviewers do so, but never knew that it was required.
This toolkit had so many helpful tips! I'm sure I'll be referencing it in the future. I wish I had it years ago when I started requesting from NetGalley so I wouldn't have ruined my feedback ratio so early! Thank you NetGalley for the helpful tips!
This was so helpful! As someone who has a bookstagram, I learned so many valuable tips from this e-guide. I can't wait to go implement them right now. Thanks NetGalley + We Are Bookish!!
This was so helpful! Thank you so much for this resource so I can make sure my reviews and profile are exactly what I need!
A fantastic and easy to understand guide on how to get the best from NetGalley and book reviewing. I am new to NetGalley, and I would recommend that everyone makes this their first read and review. It is bursting with helpful tips and hints, working through how to get the most from reviewing and how to grow your reviewing requests approvals.
The pages on bookish social media are a great help for those just starting out with a book based social-media account and those who may already be in the throes of growing their book review followers. There are even tips on photos and hashtags. Absolutely everything you need in one book to help you making the best of reviewing.
What a great guide, I wish something like this had been around when I started book blogging and reviewing!
The only thing I would like to have seen more of is the other side of Netgalley as I still struggle to understand why sometimes I rejected for ebooks that the publisher will send me a physical arc of.
As someone who recently started a bookstagram and has just discovered netgalley, these tips and tricks are really helpful! There can be a lot of pressure surrounding reviewing ARCs and this eased some of the worry I was feeling.
Hopefully this will help get me some more approvals and gain some confidence.
Good book with some great tips especially if you are starting out with Netgalley.
It has some great tips for setting up post pictures, and for using all the different social media platforms.
Unfortunately for me it was not available when I first started up with Netgalley & my book blog. There were no percentages to take into consideration, so due to being quite naive in the system etc I requested more books than I could read. I don't think my percentage will ever get to 80%
This is a great guide to have in your library. It is full of tips and tricks to help you with book advocacy, blogging, and other social media platforms. There were quite a few ideas that were new to me. I appreciate the information and will definitely be applying some to my reviews.
Thank you for this little guide, Netgalley! Super helpful, and im sure we all could have used this when we first started on this website lol.
Oh how I wish I had this when I first joined NetGalley! I have made some big mistakes along the way, including writing a poor profile, not realising that books were archived on a set date, and I definitely have a problem with the request spree (I can't help it, I am book obsessed!)
There are some great tips in here for beginners, how to get started, how to draft the perfect review and how to plan bookish content, including setting up your own brand and finding your voice.
A must-read to anyone who is dipping their toe into the world of NetGalley!
