NetGalley comes through with another tool to help boost your NetGalley experience! After reviewing the Reading Journal, I was curious what else NetGalley had published, and this was a fantastic refresher for using NetGalley, making reviews, and posting reviews to social media. I primarily post on Instagram and GoodReads, but I have been curious about some of the other platforms out there, and this toolkit has me even more curious to try branching out. I loved the tips on how to boost your NetGalley profile as well, and I hope to implement some of the recommendations soon! Thank you for providing this toolkit!
This was a very helpful guide and intro to NetGalley that I think every new user needs to read! I found the sections on "Requesting Books 101" and "Book Review Tips" to be the most helpful to me. I mostly provide written reviews so those sections were most pertinent. I would have liked a few samples of what they consider to be a good vs. bad review, but I know I can probably just read through a few online to get a better sense of what exactly they are looking for. The majority of the guide focused on social media platforms using video and image based material such as Instagram and Tik Tok. As that is not the content I intend to create, I didn't find it particularly useful, but it seemed like a lot of great information for someone who wants to focus on those platforms. Overall I found this to be a super helpful guide and really think every new user should read it.
This toolkit was so helpful! I am brand new to NetGalley, and pretty new to Bookstagram. There were so many helpful explanations that I will be able to use right away. I also appreciate all of the links to We Are Bookish that will provide even more information. The pages in the Book Advocate Toolkit are organized in an easy-to-read and attention-grabbing way. It was quick to skim through, and then I was able to go back and dive deeper into the topics that I really wanted more information about.
Thank you, NetGalley, for putting this toolkit together!
This book comes in handy when learining about how to leave reviews and using social media to promote your joy of reading and reviewing. I already know I will be coming back the this toolkit to learn how to leave critical reviews and to further my book reviewing journey. I really like that this toolkit is set up in a user friendly way which encourages me to read carefully without getting bored, and the colors throughout are also very eye catching. It is not often that a user manual is fun.
Thank you NetGalley for creating this awesome resource and allowing me to learn from it for free!
Five stars!
I really enjoyed perusing this well-thought-out and attractive toolkit. As a newer reviewer I appreciated suggestions for starting (and fine-tuning) social media accounts with your reviews. The colors and creative ideas were easy to follow and understand. I learned a lot about the do's and don't's of reviewing, ways to promote and set up your own bookish accounts, as well as various tips for increasing your audience and streamlining your schedule to maximize each book's potential. I will be looking back on this often for ideas often.
A short and snappy summary that provided a very comprehensive overview to starting reviewing on NetGalley. As a veteran book blogger returning to the space, I found the tips to be helpful and the content around strategising content was particularly useful. Looking forward to reading more on NetGalley!
As avid reader who has been looking to grow my social media presence, I was thrilled to discover this toolkit. It was extremely helpful and gave great ideas to effortlessly craft engaging reviews. Excellent toolkit with plenty of resources to help any reviewer. It gives wonderful suggestions and shows you the "proper" etiquette. I think everyone should read this to get insight into how they should formulate their personal reviews. It gives structure to how you should proceed which a lot of people lack and I like how they presented it in an intelligent way. I would share this with friends who are interested in literature just to attempt to spark them into perhaps becoming a reviewer. This is a 5 star toolkit for sure, I am better having read it and glad I did.
This toolkit, provided by Net-galley, gives you comprehensive guidance in navigating the Netgalley platform, writing reviews, requesting books, and even how to make your profile stand out to have better chances of request approvals. It’s a quick read and very informative.
The Book Advocate Toolkit provided helpful information and what categories to select for your reviews and profile. It was very helpful to know to not request every book that you come across and how important your feedback ratio is
This Toolkit was helpful in helping me understand the different avenues for sharing reviews and what kind of information to include. Thanks NetGalley for providing this resource as I begin reviewing books!
Thankyou NetGalley and We Are Bookish for providing me with this simple to read guide that has really given me food for thought.
I have been a member of NetGalley for many years now , but have only recently delved into prioritising book reviewing.
This guide will genuinely help me to progress with my aim of being more recognised on social media . I love the idea of starting my own blog and the helpful tips will certainly help me embark on making this goal a priority .
I can see how this will now be my ' go to ' resource whilst I try to make my stamp and get my reviews more widely known.
There are so many tips within the pages and I am always very grateful to have such recaps close to hand for future
reference.
The information is not overpowering and is given in bitesize chunks that is very easy to read in colourful eye-catching paragraphs. I can see myself referring back to this from time to time and it being a great help at every point on my Netgalley journey

As someone who just got back into reading and is new to reviewing books on a public platform, this book toolkit is helpful. I discovered a lot of tips I didn’t consider. It lays out a nice outline to follow when you’re feeling stuck on content or feeling a bit lost on how to go about your reviews.
I’m excited to take this tips and apply them to my future reviews and content. For anyone who is new and wanting to start a reading and reviewing journey, I would definitely suggest them giving this a look over.
This was super helpful! A great guide for any new members of NetGalley or seasoned reviewers. I loved the advice provided for all different social media platforms. If I ever decide to expand I will definitely come back to this guide for starter advice. Thanks to NetGalley for providing this useful tool!
a brief introduction to NetGalley that everyone should read! it was pretty succinct, but some sections had links to NetGalley blog articles if you wanted more information on a specific topic, such as how to write a critical book review. some things I already "knew"/felt like common sense (I would personally never tag an author in a negative review), but some I hadn't considered (such as not posting quotes from an ARC). overall a quick overview to look at that covers a range of relevant topics.
