A really helpful guide to all things NetGalley full of useful tips and information. Has really helped plan review etc and sparked some ideas on how to develop my blog. A must read for anyone starting out with netgalley.
My expectations were exceeded in this how to manual for book reviewers. Little did I realize that all the questions I had asked Google about how to review childrens' books and how I could use another reviewer's words or thoughts were all wrapped up in a tidy little book. The Toolkit is deceivingly short at 32 pages mentioned as the it's length. Each page includes several links to more essential information that will help me inspire more people to read more books. Thanks to We Are Bookish and Netgally for providing an eARC of this book. Opinions given are voluntary and my own.
Lots of helpful information with a focus on different types of content planning and formatting. This was very helpful, thank you NetGalley for putting this together!
Very useful. Even thought Ive been on Netgalley for a while, I dont feel that I make as productive use of it as I could. This 'kit' is an invaluable tool.
Great information, I just read and review books for the love of reading. I hope one day more publishers will approve me so that I can have the pleasure in reading newer authors, after stepping away from reading for the past 20 years.
I found this informative and worthwhile. I am always looking for tips to become a better reviewer and I learned a few new things from reading this book. What a great idea and I think this would be helpful to everyone.
I really enjoyed this toolkit as I'm fairly new to bookstagram, and still working on getting everything organized/up and running. I think it's awesome that NetGalley put together a guide to help readers get started on social media. As a writer myself, I feel reviews are pretty easy for me, but it was the social media and strategizing sections were very helpful. While I have experience with social media through my full-time gig, it is still a whole new world to me given there are so many intricacies and do/don't rules. I think NetGalley's toolkit is a great jumping off point for those getting started on bookstagram or another social media platform as it gives you little nuggets of information to expand upon as you see fit. I highly suggest taking time to explore this whether you're new or seasoned in the booksta world! Thanks, NetGalley!
I found this guide very informative. Usually you find guides like this and it's just comment sense. I actually learned a few things! Thanks @netgalley and We Are Bookish!
This is a great guide for beginner book reviewers. It is easy to read and very informative. Thank you for making this toolkit!
While I've been writing reviews for the last two years, this Toolkit gave me concrete tips on how to properly form a review. This toolkit also includes tips on the approval process. Overall, it is a great introduction to NetGalley.
I was reminded of the importance of sharing content warnings; this is especially important as I tend to share my reviews with a queer audience. With that, I love the focus on accessibility in the Toolkit.
Super helpful!
Thankful for this tool as I am just starting to get into book reviews. I have had no prior experience in writing reviews, so this tool has been instrumental in how to craft a review and how NetGalley works.
NetGalley has done a great job at not only condensing information about their own platform, but also providing tips and tricks to apply to other spaces of book advocacy! The graphics were well-designed and neat, and the information was absolutely vital for a newbie like myself!
Thank you for such a great tool.
Anyone who needs to learn to write reviews that will pull in a reader, this is for you.
Good Toolkit to get an idea of what is useful to add to a review, plus potential inspiration if you feel stuck with a book you're reviewing, by starting with some of the things mentioned here. A good place to start your reviewing journey.
It's nice that NetGalley has a resource like this available to readers. It has clear tips on: starting an account, writing reviews, social media, and graphic design. Worth a read!
The perfect starter kit for anyone wanting to join Netgalley! This info pack has everything a newbie (or oldie) needs to get started and established in the book reviewing world from social media advice to tips on review structures. The presentation is simple and engaging, and there isn’t too much information. Overall definitely worth a read!
Don't know or feeling overwhelmed with where to start? I'd assume so if you stumbled upon this gem -- just like I did. This is a great starting block to those new to NetGalley/reviewing/the bookish space in this sense!
Great tips and templates for reviewing books on social media. I especially liked the template the author created on Canva to review books.
This was helpful and provided detailed information that allowed me to move forward sooner than if I had not read it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the DRC.
It is necessary to have a book that described how to use the all-important approval preferences sites of publishers in order for reviewers to be able to read the ARCs of their choosing. Also the kit provided instruction for reviewers sending their work to social media and retail sites.
What is missing is a glossary of writing terms that authors’ use as literary devices. It would help many reviewers.
This kit is a valuable research for influencers who prefer self-guided selection of books to read and review for the public.
