This was fantastic! Short and easy tips for book reviewing. I’d recommend this to anyone new to Netgalley or considering new social platforms to share and discuss books and ARCs.
An invaluable reference for new NetGalley accounts. What to do, what not to do, and how to keep that all important feedback ratio up.
I have found this to be an absolute treasure trove of information! As a newbie, I have so much to learn. This book breaks it all down into simple bytes of information and helpful links. This is a MUST-have for book reviewers!
As someone new to NetGalley (and bookstagramming!) I just want to say how helpful this getting started guide is! Some of the tips and suggestions seem obvious, but are such important reminders. For example, I honestly hadn’t considered that sharing quotes for ARCs isn’t appreciated because the final printing might vary. The suggestions for constructive/critical reviews was also really appreciated, and the primer on how the rating system here works is gold. Thanks again for helping newbies like me get off to a strong start, NetGalley!
I found this toolkit to be very informative. It's mainly focused on setting up a full social media persona rather than writing reviews specifically. However, it was very detailed, and it offered lost of specific ideas to feature book reviews online.
I haven't finished this, but I like having a toolkit to refer to. As I've upped my Instagram game, I'd love to get better at using Netgalley. It's just a little frustrating that getting these types of aids which benefit Netgalley also affects our feedback ration. These really should not be included.
I mean, what is there to complain about? Free advice on ensuring your reviews are clear, fair and reach a good audience, with lots of tips for requesting, writing and getting your reviews out there. I think this is a great resource for NetGalley to put out for free - sure, it's not 100% comprehensive, but I think this is a really helpful tool for anyone at any stage of their ARC journey :)
Helpful with the basics of getting started on NetGalley- but would have loved savvier advice on audience building.
I truly enjoyed this toolkit and am excited to up my reviews using some of these tips. On my instagram account, I get confused with hashtags and tags and you made it perfectly clear—an answer I’ve been seeking for a long time that others were not able to answer for me.
Booktube was something that I hadn’t even heard of before. This sounds like a lot of fun and I have an idea for an account to hopefully I’ll get it together and start an account to reach more readers with the reviews I have to offer. This really sounds fun!
This is so helpful! I will be expanding my Bookish footprint with the help of this resource. Thank you for spelling everything out in an easy-to-read, organized format.
I wish I would have found this guide when I first joined NetGalley! It's got everything you need to get started with NetGalley, plus a ton of helpful tips on how to become a book influencer!
Really enjoyed learning how to give better feedback. Didn't realize there were actually so many things to think about, thank you.
Helpful to have all this information in one place.
Liked the breakdown in regards of what to do when reviewing in different places.
Some information felt repetitive with the information on the website but overall a nice FREE guide especially when just getting started!
This was... mildly helpful? I appreciated the Netgalley tips the most - most of the social media tips were things I'd already heard before, but it was nice to have them all compiled together in a handy little guide. Thanks for making it free!
Dream kit for bloggers and anyone starting out on a career in social media, reading and writing. However, it would be nice if us 'oldies' were given a voice. As a retired person and not brought up with social media, it would be helpful to simplify some aspects of the jargon, or even mention that we can join this 'exclusive' club. Otherwise the colourful layout of the book is very nice, and content useful for dipping in and out of!
This was very helpful as the reason I haven't signed up sooner was my hesitance to create reviews. Thanks for making this toolkit to help reviewers!
This book helped me to learn the process of how NetGalley works with different tips and recommendations.
I really recommend for those people interested in this process.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a fantastic guide on how to use NetGalley, featuring tips on how to set up your profile and how to maintain a good ratio.
This is a great resource for those just making an account and getting started. I particularly like the way the tips are separated by types of reviews and by forms of social media, so this guide is helpful for literally everybody who writes book reviews, whether that be on bookstagram, booktok or their own blog.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a great resource for anyone new to using NetGalley and providing book reviews. It includes tips for posting reviews on various platforms. I found it to be a very helpful starting point.
Super helpful book to get insight into writing a great review. My goal is to read great books from different authors and give them the best reviews.
