I thoroughly enjoyed this toolkit book. It helped me get started with my review journey as well as give me ideas on future plans.
It was perfectly laid out with clear instructions and simple layout. Overall definitely a 5 star rating for me.
This has been very helpful in getting me started on NetGalley! Can't wait to keep reviewing books and referring back to this for advice and tips!
A very helpful booklet that I'll likely revisit. Some extremely unseful advice regarding the platrform and ratios as well as review advice.
A very welcome source for all Netgalley users who want to be successful in acquiring ARCs. It gives you all tools you need and advance in to include in reviews.
Very good and helpful information! I’m a beginner reviewer and it’s a little tricky to get started, so this information is a great help. Thank you.
This is such a helpful toolkit! At first, I was a little cautious, assuming it would be more of a slog to read through. However, it's very concise and extremely well-organised. I was able to easily skip to the sections that pertain to me and I was so interested that I even read the sections that didn't.
The graphics and colour schemes are really cute and I liked the overarching theme throughout. It contains some very helpful information and tips for things I have been considering such as starting a booktube account or possibly a booktok one.
I was quite confused about whether or not I was supposed to add quotes in my reviews (having seen mixed answers) but this cleared that up. Hint: don't!
Would recommend every reviewer read this first!
This was a great addition to my reading journey and I really enjoyed working through it! I appreciate NetGalley providing these!
Great advice for folks who are new to NetGalley. It might need a little updating, though. I'm super confused about the best practices around mentioning ARCs in reviews. This toolkit says it's mandatory, but so many people are losing their ability to review on Amazon because they mention it. I'm too scared to lose my ability to review, so I'm just not reviewing ARCs on Amazon at all. I feel like that's probably hurting my approval rating with publishers. Lots of us are in this position, it would be really helpful if Netgalley could help us navigate this.
This is a great starter kit with fantastic information and advice on how to create and hone your skills for a good review.
This was helpful and informative. This workbook gave me a great head start on beginning to use Net Galley.
This was a really quick read but covered a lot of important and useful points for reviewing. I'll happily keep referring back to this for any pointers that I need!
The NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit was a quick read with valuable information. If you are someone who would like to learn more about book reviews this a great place to begin. Information regarding how to set up your account, how to market yourself to reviewers, where to go to find book options, tips to help with reviews and so much more can all be found within. There are multiple reviewer types and reviewer platforms and this book goes through each. Several “to do” and “don't do” tips are shared which can be invaluable. If you’re a brand new reviewer or someone who has been doing this a long time this book is for you. I will absolutely be referencing this one in the future. Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to review.
this kit is very wonderful and is giving me extremely helpful tips!! i will definitely be looking back at this multiple times as i grow
This advocate toolkit is a great reminder on what to do and not do when you are posting reviews with tips on all platforms. I found it useful when making my first review. It gave me ideas that I didn’t even think about, so I was glad I read it before I started on my first review.
As a new member to NetGalley with little to no knowledge about the platform and how it works, this beginners toolkit was exactly what I needed. Not only was it very informative with extensive tips, but it was also beautifully designed. I especially found the "NetGalley Tips" section incredibly helpful. I learned about what to include in my bio, the process for getting approved for books, and what to look for on publisher's profiles. Furthermore, I also really enjoyed the sections "Bookish Social Media" and "Strategizing". As a relatively new account on BookTok and Bookstagram I found some helpful apps and tips throughout these sections. All in all, I would 100% recommend this toolkit to anyone new to NetGalley or bookish social medial in general!
This is a nice and easy guide for someone starting their journey in sharing their passions for books through social media. I liked the colorful layout and the lists were a nice touch to suggest actionable tasks. I’ll be referring to it from time to time, especially the section on reviewing books.
I just read through the entire book toolkit and I think there is a lot of great information in there for anyone using NetGalley. I am glad they cover a lot of things and platforms to provide reviews on. The feedback ratio is important for a lot of books. I liked all the social media planning tips that were provided.
Great information all together to get anyone started on the way to book reviewing for NetGalley. Some information seems like just something that should be known, but in today's world it is always better to say it. I didn't get much new info, I have been reading and reviewing books for years, but it was a nice refresher on what is commonly accepted. Thanks for the basic how to for NetGalley, I will keep ot for reference.
Full of great info on how to to write reviews, tips on how to get more books from NetGalley, and suggestions for generating content on your social sites.
As a newcomer to NetGalley and book reviewing, this is a well-written comprehensive toolkit that enhanced my understanding of book reviews and social media outreach. A big thank you to the NetGalley team for this gift to the platform!
