Playing with Fire is a standalone romance novel about a bachelor firefighter and his romance with Lacey, a woman who's only in town for a week. After a one night stand, Lacey and Tucker realize there may be more between them then either of them originally planned. But can they learn to trust each other and build a relationship?
This book starts off with a lot of action, excitement, and spice. I really enjoyed the scenes where Tucker and the men were called to an emergency, but I could have used more of them. The same could be said for the spicy scenes. Although they were few and far between, they were great. In general, I felt the plot could have been faster paced. There is a lot of backstory about Lacey and her family that could have been thinned out to make room for more chemistry-building interactions between Lacey and Tucker.
