Alex and Molly don’t belong on the same planet, let alone the same college campus, but when their paths cross unexpectedly, and Alex discovers Molly’s hidden crush, they realise they might have a common interest after all. Because maybe if Alex can help Molly to get her dream girl, she can prove to her ex that she’s serious about love.
As the two embark on their five-step plans to get their girls to fall for them, though, they both begin to wonder if maybe they’re the ones falling for each other…… A beautiful well written love story that will remain in my heart/head for a long time.

I adored this book! Firstly the fact that Rachel co-wrote this with her wife made me absolutely swoon.
Secondly, the characters were so easily likeable and defined, this was such a well written, cute love story with loads of entertainment. I do love a combination of enemies-to-lovers and fake-dating and then to make it sapphic...adore!!
Alex and Molly were such sweet girls and really, the relationship they develop is so delicately written. How they identify each others vulnerabilities, show each other their worth and then come together at the end was such a delight to read!
I really enjoyed this and recommended to multiple friends to pre-order it!
Thanks so much for letting me read this!

The premise of this is amazing and I loved both of the characters for a multitude of reasons but as a whole? The book just didn't wow me. This was one of my most anticipated sapphic reads of 2022 so admittedly I was kind of holding it on a pedestal, and it fell a little short.
Alex is delightfully complicated and multi-faceted and I did prefer her chapters. I also feel like she was let down repeatedly in ways that weren't addressed (some were but still). Molly was again, very multi-dimensional and well developed but personally, I was annoyed at her for no real reason repeatedly. Together they're very cute and I could feel the chemistry. However, I feel like the ending was rather rushed, it went at a snail's pace for about 70% of the book, and then zoooooom, it made me feel rather jarred with it all.
The other characters for the most part (with the exception of Alex's boss) weren't very memorable. The plot felt a bit of a stretch for me honestly and whilst this was fantastically well written it just didn't hit the way it should have. Overall I think this is someone's best read of the year, it just wasn't mine, all the elements just refused to click for me.
Also as an aside, the cover is absolutely beautiful.

Alex Blackwood, a flirty and perfect girl who gets whatever she wants met Molly Parker who had a huge crush on Cora. Alex promises to help Molly get Cora and she have five steps Molly must follow. Alex had a reason why she's helping Molly and she had no idea of it. Molly follows the steps Alex said and it's going well, everything but the more Molly gets closer to what she always wanted for the last four years, the more distant she feel. What if the person that we always wanted isn't the one? Why love is always complicated when everything is going just fine? All the answers are in this book and it's a wonderful roller coaster of love, regret, pain, past and realization crystal clearly displayed by Alex and Molly herself. I loved Rachel's work and always been a huge fan of her Five Feet Apart, All This Time and The Lucky List. She did it again and this time with her lovely wife/best friend Alyson.

Such a fun quick read. Really loved the characters and how we see then grow from the first chapter from Molly coming out of her shell, to Alex finally opening up. While I wasn’t a huge fan of all the pop culture references I still think this is a great sapphic rom com and would definitely recommend.

I took a chance on this book, which is outside my normal genres, and I’m so glad I did! I was sucked into the story the moment I started reading (I’d actually only opened it so it would be at the top of the kindle TBR list).

I loved this book so much that I can’t find the words to describe how and why. Alex and Molly are such wonderful, fully realised characters. They just leap off the page and make you care about them. And their story is so lovely. It’s all about how love sneaks up on you when you’re looking the other way. The ending is just perfect.

I really recommend this book, it’s a sweet and lovely romance, and it just warmed my heart.

I was given a free copy of this book, my opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this. It’s very rare I give pure romance 5 stars. I normally need something extra like a fantasy element or a mystery. However, I just loved this. It was so well written that it just drew me in instantly.

A sapphic college romance between a cripplingly awkward introvert and a flirtatious, but emotionally distant, extrovert.

There was a lot of depth to the characters with gradual reveals of their background as the plot developed. Fabulous character development and flawed main characters that were very loveable.

So much was crammed into this, family troubles, the journey of starting college, personal growth, friendship and a very slow burn love.
There are lots of feels and lots of hilarious moments. It also didn’t seem to be as idealistic as a lot of romance novels, it felt like this could be a real story.

Would definitely recommend this for romance lovers.

➳ Alex is eager to leave her hometown and attend college. She's ready to get her life in order so that she never has to struggle again, now that she's away from her alcoholic mother and on her own for the first time. Following a fight with her girlfriend, she must find a way to demonstrate to her that she can care about someone other than herself.

➳ Molly enters the picture. Molly is eager to make a name for herself in college. She wishes to make a friend other than her mother and, perhaps, to finally speak with her high school crush. Soon after, Alex offers to assist Molly in obtaining her crush and puts the plan into action, but the more time they spend together, the more Alex and Molly realise that they really like each other and that, despite their differences, they fit better together than they realise..

➳ This was a charming, sweet, sapphic romance that made me smile, laugh, cry, and everything in between! Every page was fantastic! The synergy! Everything about this was ablaze! I adore the writing style and the way these characters are portrayed.

➳ The characters were endearing and well-written. I became invested not only in them, but also in their relationships with one another. Their development was so beautiful and gradual throughout the novel. It considers how the people around us influence us. In different ways, Alex and Molly's relationships with their mothers were intriguing. But I cared about both equally, and I believe those somewhat contrasting relationships demonstrated the good and bad of all types of family situations.

➳ It's important to note that the plot addresses some serious issues, such as alcoholism, emotionally abusive relationships, and internalised racism. Having said that, they're handled brilliantly and add depth to the characters, their backstories, and the overall story.

➳ Overall, this is definitely going to be a new comfort read for me! I just loved it. Don't forget to pick the book up this April.
