This was so cute but then I am such a sucker for cat related manga. I love Chi's Sweet Home so I knew this would be a safe bet. I need to get my hands on a physical copy!

So cute! I love their dynamic! Really funny too! I hope to read the further adventures of these 2 kitties. It’s fun to see how the older kitty is dealing with the younger ones antics and how she starts acting younger too.

SUCH A CUTE MANGA. I am personally not a manga reader myself, but this book was about a cat and it was in colorful graphics; so made it all the worth it. If you wanna read a cute story, read this one!

Sue is just an older cat living her best life with her best bud, her human, Natsuki. Things take a turn when he brings in a kitten named Tai-chan, who is active and extremely curious. What is Sue to do when she just wants to peacefully lounge when Tai-chan keeps bugging her to play?

I was sad when Chi’s Sweet Home finally came to an end. Then I learned that there were going to be some spin-offs and got excited. Like Chi’s Sweet Home, Sue & Tai-chan is a cute, sweet, and all around wholesome story that’s perfect for all ages. It’s the type of feel good story that everyone needs in their life while being the perfect story for kids. If this was around when I was a kid, it would’ve been something my mom and I would’ve read together, so I can see it being a family read for anyone with younger kids.

We follow Sue, who is an older house cat that’s slowed down and likes to lounge more than she plays. She spends her day relaxing and living her best life with Natsuki when he has the nerve to bring in a new cat, Tai-chan! We also follow Tai-chan, who is extremely curious and just loves to play and explore. Poor Sue just wants to sleep and relax, but Tai-chan wants to become friends, play, and become involved in everything she and Natsuki are up to. It’s such a cute and fun story that it’s something that could be read again and again whenever one needs a pick-me-up.

The artwork is absolutely adorable and colorful. The style really brings the story to life. I’ve always loved seeing all the expressions on the different cats and people that appear in Kanata Konami’s stories. The panels are always simple but colorful, making it easy for small readers to follow along without getting lost. I’m excited to start this new series and can’t wait to read the second volume.

Thank you Kodansha Comics for the ARC. This volume is true to the artist Konami Kanata’s style and the drawings are incredibly adorable. Plus there are two cats (as opposed to just one in the Chi’s Sweet Home series) so there’s double the cuteness.

As usual, I am not impressed by the stories (similar problems come up in the Chi series). The representation of the kitten’s behaviour is annoying, and the human is always doing something wrong: shoving two cats together without an introduction period, putting both cat’s litter boxes side by side which can cause territorial conflict and behavioural problems, feeding the two cat together and allowing them to steal even though their different age means that they'll have different nutritional needs, forcing a senior cat to live with an over-energetic kitten which is potentially very stressful, feeding milk to the cats, not giving them any toys and then portraying the problematic behaviour as something cute. All in all, this is clearly an author that knows NOTHING about responsible cat care, which is infuriating for me.

HOWEVER, if you are willing to disregard that aspect and just enjoy the wonderful drawings, you’ll find that the cats’ facial expressions and movements are super cute.

This was a pretty cute, fast read. I was worried it was going to get depressing, but it stays pretty lighthearted. The art was super cute too.

'Sue & Tai-chan 1' with stories and art by Konami Kanata is a manga with a series of stories about a young cat and an old cat.

These are pretty cute stories about a couple cute cats. The art is great as are the stories.

What happens when you throw an aging house cat and a new kitten into the same home? Well, one of two things. Either the older cat will freak out, or they'll take the kitten under their (metaphorical) wing.

In this story, the aging cat is named Sue, and her new kitten ward is Tai-chan. Get ready for a series of endearing cat events, told in a way that only comic art could portray.

Pardon me while I squeal from the cuteness. Sue & Tai-chan Vol. 1 is such a cute read! I know, I'm effectively a crazy-cat lady, so my opinion will already be biased. But it was still SO much fun to read!

I loved watching Sue steadily grow more and more fond of Tai-chan. It reminded me of my three cats. I recently (read: much earlier this year) got two kittens. My older cat was not thrilled, to start with. However, their persistent love and optimism eventually win her over in the end, much like this tale.

I'm trying to say that Sue & Tai-chan Vol. 1 perfectly captures the complex and shifting relationships between two cats. Many might overlook these fluctuations in a feline duo, but not Kanata Konami. It's perfect.

Konami Kanata’s Sue & Tai-chan is the super cute, fun, and easy-to-read first entry in an adorable cat manga series. I love the adorable art and the cats’ funny adventures. This is a perfectly happy and wholesome book for readers of all ages!

Senior housecat Sue is content to lazily live out her days as an only cat with owner Natsuki. However, Sue’s peaceful life is soon disrupted by the arrival of mischievous tomcat kitten Tai-chan! The book follows the cats’ adventures as they get to know each other and get up to many kitty hijinks!

This happy book is a light and entertaining read with just 16 chapters. Each simple and easy-to-follow chapter is a somewhat self-contained new adventure. Sue and Tai-chan engage in typical cat activities but Kanata imbues even the simplest things with joy and humour. There are many relatable, aww-worthy, and hilarious moments. Poor Sue can’t take a nap, eat, or sunbathe in peace! I couldn’t help but smile and giggle at all of Tai-chan’s antics! I loved Tai-chan tasting his way around the apartment, both cats having a misadventure in the human bathroom (there is water but it ends well!), Tai-chan discovering a gigantic watermelon, and, of course, the inevitable but still sweet and natural bonding between Sue and Tai-chan.

I just love the cute, fun, and colourful panels! The artwork is clean and adorable with gentle watercolors. I like all the lovely details and I especially appreciate that the panels aren’t cluttered at all. Energetic Tai-chan is super adorable with his big eyes and excited little face. I love grumpy Sue and her range of exasperated and shocked expressions. I really like how the colourful and fun typography matches and nicely enhances the pets’ actions and emotions.

Sue & Tai-chan is a lovely and quick read that will be sure to put a smile on your face. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.

The art is the cutest thing ever. The kitten's big eyes is absolutely adorable. It is also in color which I liked. The story is so relatable if you have every had a kitten you will recognize moments. It is sweet and I am looking forward to volume 2.

This is a very cute beginning to a fun series! The cats are so cute, and I highly recommend this series for all pet lovers!

Sue & Tai-chan Volume 1 was such a charming read! The premise, elderly cat Sue-chan suddenly finds her paws full with energetic baby Tai-chan, makes for a simple, yet effective, narrative that's sure to delight readers of all ages.

I enjoyed Chi's Sweet Home and found many of the same endearing qualities present in Sue & Tai-chan's first volume! Sue, an aging housecat, has her lazy retirement interrupted by a little kitten and so sets off a series of adorable hijinks. Basically, if you love cats, there's nothing to not love about this.

Short chapters allow for cute tidbits of story, based around the cats -- Sue is older, while Tai-chan is a kitten new to the home -- getting used to each other. The kitten wants to play, annoying Sue, or needs to be taught to use the litter box. Tai-chan tastes her way around the room or chases Sue’s tail.

The animals’ word balloons are variants on “meow” and “mew,” with their meanings captioned nearby, giving the reader insight into the cats’ emotions. The adventures being in full color make it even more pleasant to read. There are encounters with food and water and sleepless nights and doors and a watermelon. The events are so simple, yet realistic, that this is a relaxing read.

Sue & Tai-chan is an absolutely adorable book, as are the cats themselves. It’s also good insight into what’s involved in taking care of a pet, particularly a young, active one.

An adorable manga about cats being cute. Cat mangas are just the best.

This was cute and a quick read. It would make a nice gift for cat lovers. The artwork is really nice and the pictures convey the difference between an old ponderous cat and a young highly active kitten. It is a nice enough story with plenty of humour.
