ABSOLUTELY ADORBS!!! And totally relatable since i have SEVEN of my own. The exact actions and reactions. Beautiful illustrations too. I hope there will be more of Sue and Tai-chan!
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for this eArc!
This was seriously the perfect fun and quick read! The comic centers around an older cat named Sue and a younger kitten named Tai chan who suddely enters Sue’s home. This was so cute and wholesome, and I loved watching Tai chan slowly growing on Sue overtime. It was also pretty hilarious! I would definitely reccommend!
This is a kawaii manga focusing on the relationship between two cats: an energetic young kitten and a senior cat. Most of the humor derives from the somewhat feeble elderly cat dealing with an invasion by a newcomer with an insatiable desire to play. There isn't much about the owner - he's there just to look confused at what the two cats could possibly be thinking.
Story: Sue has lived a long life and is enjoying her latter years of laying in the sun and napping often. That is, until her owner Natsuki suddenly brings home a kitten. Tai is lively, curious, wants a playmate, and drives poor Sue crazy. Natsuki knows he shouldn't bring home a new kitten to an established elderly cat and hopes the situation is only temporary until he can find a new home for the kitten. But will Sue survive until then?
Most of the time, Tai gets into mischief and Sue has to deal with it. Our POV is mostly from Sue and she is given almost anthropomorphic qualities as she deals with Tai. From trying to figure out how to keep the kitten occupied with as little effort as possible (hint: a kitten who plays with someone else's tail often chomps down on it) to preventing the little hellion from waking up Natsuki.
The manga is a series of vignettes of the mischief the two get into during the day while Natsuki is gone. As well, Sue feels obligated to teach the kitten the way of life but what is common sense to an older cat is clearly not the same for a young modern kitten.
In all, a cute series of scenes of two cats coming to terms with the big generation gap. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
I'm not a cat person but trust the Japanese to convince me otherwise.
This is such an adorable and realistic comic that I felt like a fly orn the wall, with a cat translator of course, watching a senior cat and kitten build a friendship.
Too cute.
I went aww many times.
This was such a cute and light read, perfect for me to break up my heavy reading!
I loved watching these two cats bond and see Sue teach Tai about being a cat!
Newcomer kitten Tai-chan is a ball of energy while Sue is a 17-year-old senior cat. What happens when they end up living together under one roof?
Gosh, this was sooo freaking cute and adorable! I dare you to read it and not feel happy. Both cats are so precious. I really enjoyed seeing all the mischief and mayhem that ensued 😂 The artwork is a delight as well.
Highly recommended for all cat and animal lovers!
Personal Ratings : 4.25🌟
A very light and easygoing manga that puts a smile on your face and one that can really put away the bad days. I love mangas that are associated with cats and this one is about a situation that is very familiar to people that owns cats; which is getting the older cats to accept newer kittens in the house.
Short Summary
Natsuki owns a cat called Sue-Chan. She has been with him for awhile and when Natsuki's neighbour suddenly offered a stray cat that he had found, he couldn't refuse him. Came in Tai-chan, the black kitten that will make Sue-Chan's life turned upside down. The manga is a story of Sue-chan and Tai-chan together and how they're adapting with one another. A realistic portrayal of how the cats interact in a household and just a story that warms your heart and into the world of cats.
Personal Thoughts
The drawing was something more of a comic than a manga but I still liked it anyways. Its a full coloured comic that is just so so so cute. I loved every shenanigans that Sue-chan had to put up with Tai-chan and how, at the end of the day, she had just accepted him in their life. Its just a book that is filled with fluff and cheered up my day. What with Sue-chan being old and literally just annoyed with the kitten who is super active, at the end of the day, they're becoming a family which is just wholesome.
A read that had made me smiled through the chapters. I love it!
Thank you to Kodansha and Netgalley for generously providing me an e-arc of the book.

This simple, cozy, heartwarming slice-of-feline-life story will resonate with any reader, but young ones and tweens are sure to enjoy. Personally, I always want cute cat comics. Thank you Konami Kanata for giving the people what they want!
This was such a fun and adorable graphic novel! I can't wait to read the other books in this series!
This is an absolutely adorable manga about two cats, one old and one only a kitten. This new series is perfect for readers who loved Chi's Sweet Home and Wonder Cat Kyuu-Chan. A great addition to manga collections!
Sue & Tai-chan is an adorable manga about two cats and how they get along. Natsuki adopts Tai-chan (a kitten) at the beginning of the book which Sue (a 17 year old cat) is anxious about at first, but they soon form a great bond. Sue and Tai-chan get into all sorts of mischief because Tai-chan doesn't know any better. This book is perfect for anyone who loves cats, manga or both.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodasha Comics for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars overall.
Sue and Tai-Chan is a very cut story of two house cats - one much older and one a kitten living in the same space together and their day to day activities. As a cat owner and lover, I found this to be ultra cute and somewhat accurate in terms of cat behaviors.
It was also a very cute look at each daily activity and broken up into those types of situations. Though I would have preferred to see a little more than just life inside their house. Their interactions were also sweet, so there is nothing too conflicting or traumatic involved in the content. The art was clear and easy to see, very cute, the main colors are black, grey, yellow and white which is sufficient to tell the story. The language was simple and easy to read. I think anyone at any reading level could enjoy this graphic novel! I enjoyed the relationship established between the two cats and with their owner!
If I found the next graphic novel, I would read it just to get some more wholesomeness
I LOVE CHI'S SWEET HOME and now we get another series?! Oh how blessed we are!! This was completely adorable and lovely, now with old lady cat and kitten.
I received a copy of this manga through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Manga with cats?! Sign me up!!!😋😻
It was very adorable, Sue-chan was like a grumpy grandma who has to babysit a hyperactive baby (Tai-chan). Many funny situations, lots of cuteness!🥰
Sue and Tai-chan are really cute! We have a cat and kitten in our house as well and their dynamics were like that as Sue and Tai-chan's. The illustrations in here were phenomenal and I loved reading the author's comics about cats.

Sue is an elderly cat who is looking to spend her remaining years blissfully asleep. Enter the unexpected arrival of kitten energy in the form of little Tai-chan. Will Sue warm to this wee bit of mischief? Or is she doomed to be a perturbed senior citizen for the rest of her life?
Poor Sue. This is another in the long list of cute cat books and while I am an avowed cat lover, these types of series tend to mostly be just okay for me. They are the slightest slices of life and they can function as a warm hug or fond reminder of a pet, but anything meatier than that? Eh, not so much.
And so it goes here. It’s probably my own stance as a nap aficionado talking, but watching poor Sue’s restful elder years be interrupted by Tai-chan strikes me as totally unfair. Sue’s owner has as much common sense as fashion sense, it seems (seriously, that cardigan was alarming).
Yes, the two of them get closer and there are many a sweet moment and instance of ‘classic cat’ in the mixture, but with her life not exactly stretching out before her, I wish Sue could get her reward without having to play surrogate mom.
Of course, then there’s no book, and it’s not like Tai is being mean or intentionally cruel to Sue, she just has that intense kitten energy that cannot be stopped unless it is fully exhausted by causing mayhem and getting stuck into things. She’s a very adorable goof, but in a way that I find exhausting.
If you like these types of books, I think you’ll be very happy watching Tai bounce all over creation and Sue learn to live with and love her new roomie. If you don’t, I can’t see this really changing anybody’s mind about the genre.
3 stars - it’s mostly inoffensive, but completely not my thing. Cute cat books are cute, but I always find myself wanting a bit more out of them than I get.
Sue and Tai-chan is an adorable story about a kitten coming into a senior cat's life. Told in a short story comic format, each story chapter can be read individually and still be enjoyable.
I'm a cat lover and a fan of Chi's stories, also by Kanata Konami, so this was totally in my wheelhouse.
Quick, easy, light-hearted read. Brought a smile to my face.

Really adorable comic for any cat lovers. If you haven’t already read Chi’s sweet home and FukuFuku you should read those two if you love cats! They are all very gentle stories fine for a grade school kid that likes cats but enjoyable for an adult too.
A lot of the appeal of this title will come from if you like cat antics, but it's still a short, sweet little story. The dynamic between elderly Sue and little Tai is very cute and fun. The art is nice and colorful. This is a good title to relax with and enjoy.
Sue & Tai-chan (vol 1.) Is about two cats. Sue is 17 years old who lives her owner Natsuki. One day however Tai-chan, a little kitten comes to live with her and Natsuki. This is the start of Sue and Tai-chans life together.
Overall this was cute. The art is okay and the story is solid. It's worth the read if you're a Cat lover or a fan of the author's previous work (Chi's Sweet Home)
